DECT gateways
Heya list, I need some advice/experience. Some of our customers are asking us about DECT solutions for their asterisk install. Some others will not go to asterisk if there won't be a DECT solution. They now have a Siemens or a Samsung PBX. Those PBX-es come with a DECT basestation and optionally repeaters etc. All those basestations speak some own protocol to the PBX, so we cannot use them

Hi, I need to subscribe and use several Polycom-Kirk 5020 handsets along non-Polycom-Kirk handsets on a one-cell Polycom-Kirk 600/3 base station. Has anyone tried this ? Which values did you pick for Subscription mode (with or without Account Code) and IPEI ? Regards -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Use DECT GAP handsets with Snom M3 base?
Anyone have practical experience using inexpensive GAP-compliant DECT handsets with the Snom M3 basestation? When I asked Snom support, the answer was that 'basic functionality should work', but they didn't elaborate. I'm _guessing_ that means registering/unregistering with the base, making calls, and receiving calls (including presenting caller ID). They also stated that they

Intro to DECT vs IP
We've deoplyed a number of pure VoIP wireless (wifi & proprietary) phones, but not dect. Is there a simple overview of integrating DECT phones with Asterisk somewhere? I assume the DECT basestation has a multi-account SIP VoIP interface, and the handsets are just plain old dect? Can you push configuration info to individual phones? (Are they individually addressible / configurable

peer-to-peer RTP trouble in SIP
Hey, We have asterisk 1.2.4 (old I know) with a couple of snom phones, a couple of grandstream phones and around 65 philips dect stations. Now the problem: All calls do peer to peer RTP except the calls from dect station to dect station. snom to dect or dect to snom do peer to peer. So the sip config looks fine because all the 'static deskphones' honor the REINVITE and start talking to

[NEWBIE] Right dect to buy to use with asterisk
Hello, I need to setup this configuration: - asterisk as IVR; - dect phones. So basically I need a "standard set" of features: - each dect phone has its extension so I can call it directly; - handover of a call with "R" key; - if a call is not replied by someone ring all phones. I have little budget. I can choose to buy a fritz!box or a gigasect dect/ip base station. Which

DECT to SIP gateway experiences
G'day. I hope this isn't off-topic for the list. I am looking at an Asterisk setup that includes cordless phones. The three choices I can see, at this stage, are: * wifi phones * an ATA and a cordless analog phone * a DECT to SIP basestation The various wifi phone options don't grab us as suitable -- they are costly, have poor battery life and even the best have pretty mixed

SIP "agent" phone w/ headset
I have a call center where we're looking at converting it from a traditional PBX w/ digital phone "agent" sets (keyless phones) that have headsets to a SIP based environment. I am having trouble finding anything on the market that resembles this in the VoIP world. For reference, we're currently using Inter-Tel Agent Sets, which are basically a digital phone with out any keypad,

Anyone that know of DECT "client" for asterisk?
Anyone here that knows some hardware USB "client" (DECT) that can connect to a DECT base station and act as a "provider" in asterisk? Ergo, asterisk is the DECT handset, and connects to the DECT base station. Its also important that it also works with most asterisk-compatible devices, including for example raspberry's. The reason I ask, is that many providers in

DECT delay once hungup
I've got the following setup: IAXy -> Dect Base Station. When you dial from a SIP phone (cisco 7960), the rings with very little delay. However, if you hangup it takes 3-4 rings after hanging up before the dect base station phone stops ringing. The same applies when an incoming call is directed from PSTN FXO -> Dect Base. Is there a fix to this I've looked about on voip-info but

Kirk SIP-DECT gateway
Hi, I just got some interesting information from Kirk Telecom (www.kirktelecom.com). This company has been in the business of providing DECT solutions (IP gateway, base stations, repeaters and handsets) either to be used with Cisco CallManager (SCCP protocol) or with the Innovaphone IP PBX system (H.323). Two important elements: 1. It seems they foresee a SIP version of their product in Q1

Anyone used Siemens SIP/Dect phones?
Hi all, I am close to purchasing some new DECT phones for our home office here in the UK. We use Asterisk and I am sorely tempted by the Siemens C475IP or the "soon-to-become-available-in-the-uk" S685IP. Both systems have great feature sets and, on-paper at least, look to be the bee's knees. Anyone got any skeletons on them? Thanks Alan -- The way out is open!

Hook Flapping on Cisco 7960
Hey all, I'm running * (1.0.9) with some 7960's. When I pick up the handset it often will flap on and off hook eventually hanging up on me and not realizing that I am still holding the handset. These phones are running with the SIP 7.5.0 image on a LAN (no NAT). I am not sure if this is a phone issue or an Asterisk setting. Ideas?

Wifi - Managed access points...
Hi, I'm working on a Wifi VoIP project specification. It will have almost 8 APs and 20-30 wifi phones. And after some research, I still having some questions ... 1) Are Managed Access Points (and switch controllers) really important to implement good wifi woip (w/ low latency and acceptable handover time) ? 2) What is the difference between (3com WX1200 + 3com AP 3750) and (DES-1228P +

OT - DECT handset with Line key
Hi, I need to replace digital handsets in offices where there cabling is appareantly not Ethernet-compliant. Today's usage is to press a key to toggle between private ou public line before issuing an outgoing call. Are you aware of a DECT handset (to overcome cabling limitations) that mimic this line-key behaviour ? For instance, acceptable behaviours would be to dial number string and press

GSM/DECT handsets (was gsm picocells)
Now that I actually try and google for it, I can't find any dual mode GSM/DECT handsets, only pages telling me that they exist without any actual information!!! Does anyone know of any such handsets? (and even better, ones that are available in Australia) I've searched a few of the major gsm manufacturers (nokia, Panasonic, sonyericsson) but their web sites are absolutely pathetic to the
