Polycom IP 330 w/VLAN?
Hi, all. I see that the Polycom SoundPoint IP 330 supports VLAN... but I
don't quite see how that works. Do you point a non-VLAN'd segment at it
(akin to when you uplink a VLAN_enabled switch), and have the phone
implement the VLAN? Or...? *puzzled*
Thanks much,

VLAN issue
Andrew and Dennis are spot on.
Their conclusions about your server being connected to an access port and
not a trunk port would be my conclusion as well.

VLAN issue
Do you need the whole configuration? On the switch end, we have the
relevant VLAN (VLAN 48) with the assigned IP address of 192.168.48.101 and
the range of ports (Gi1/0/1 - Gi1/0/8) assigned to that VLAN.
Seems - and acts - like a legitimate setup and works fine, except for this
particular instance.
Thanks.
Boris.

[Bridge] RFC: [PATCH] bridge vlan integration
Hi,
The attached patches enables the bridge to filter and forward packets
according to their IEEE 802.1q headers. The goals behind this change
include :
- Enable running STP on 802.1q tagged networks. STP packets
must be untagged. It isn't obvious how else to enable STP
with the current bridge and vlan code.
- Add native support for an untagged vlan. Currently an untagged
vlan can

VLAN issue
Thank you everyone.
OK, the mystery deepens, I guess. The machine does need to support several
VLAN's, it is currently on a trunkport (8021q encapsulated), it made it
into the ARP table - which I specifically tested for by physically
unplugging the table, clearing the ARP table and plugging it back in.
The ARP table currently looks like this:

VLAN martians
I''m playing around with VLAN''s and I have a VLAN capable (layer 2) smart
switch. I see a steady stream of martians in the logfile if I have the
routefilter option set on the loc zone interfaces in
/etc/shorewall/interfaces. I have two interfaces in the loc zone, eth1
and vlan2 respectively. vlan2 is an 802.1q trunk going towards the switch.
Is this the expected behavior in

Because a trunk port will "trunk" the vlan.
A VLAN is basically a 4 byte "tag" that gets injected into the packet
header when the packet enters the VLAN network. When we trunk a VLAN we say
to the switch "pass packets on VLAN x but

[Bridge] My configuration in Bridge, 802.1Q VLAN, and hotmail login, Thanks to all
Hi All,
For my issue, first thanks to ALL, I have some idea of it.
Also Thank Peter for his kind remind, I would become one good guy in
this list.
Most mentioned MTU, but how I assure that the problem is just MTU, how I
debug it?
Here is my bridge configuration:

Integrated T1
Can an asterisk box equipped with a Digium T1 card handle Integrated T1 circuits? I have a T1 with 768k data and the remaining channels voice, can the asterisk box do the Data routing + Voice processing?
It's only going to support 4-5 users(the voice channels won't all be active obviously).

Polycom getting DCHP address from wrong VLAN
Hello,
I have been tearing my hair out on this issue for 2 days, any help
would be appreciated.
We have a normal network and a Cisco SGE2010P switch - a 48 port PoE switch
There are two VLANs, 1(data) & 50(VoIP). When Polycoms are connected
to the switch with VLAN 50 hard coded in the config they grab a DHCP
address from VLAN 1, the PVID for the switch port.
The ports have membership in

Push VLAN to Polycom via DHCP
Has anyone been succesful pushing a VLAN setting to a Polycom phone via DHCP?
I can push the boot server via option 66 but that is about it.
I have set it for 'fixed' and tried many different option numbers with
a couple differnet DHCP servers.
SIP firmware 1.3.4 or 1.4.1 doesn't make a difference.

VLAN issue
Hello all,
I have a machine running Centos 6.6 connected to a port on a Cisco Catalyst
3750 series switch. That port is part of VLAN 48. I have VLAN 48 on the
CentOS machine too.
The IP network on VLAN 48 is 192.168.48.0/255.255.255.0. The address on the
CentOS side is 192.168.48.101, the address on the Linux end ought to be
192.168.48.100.
When I only bring up eth0.48 VLAN device with the

[Bridge] Bridging vlans...

Hi folks,
I have an implementation question regarding bridging on a linux box between
a catalyst trunk port and a cisco 26something w/802.1q subinterfaces.
So right now, there's no vlan trunking going on on the link my bridging

VLAN issue
Hi --
The environment we have is as follows,
Domain controller: samba 3.0.14a running Solaris 9/X86
Authentication: openldap 2.2.14
Clients: Windows XP with SP2
The issue I met:
If both clients and Samba server are on the same physical switch (also same subnet), the clients can join the domain and users can log into their domain accounts without any problem. However, if the clients

Polycom VLANs
So has anyone had any experience working with the polycom 501 or 301 and
vlans?
We run dell managed switches here, so we don't have the luxury of running
CDP to force the VOIP vlan. I haven't been able to get the polycom phones to
talk on a manually set vlan. I have some junky sipura phones that work
fine-(get dhcp, register to asterisk etc) when i manually set them to vlan4.
Any advice

xen vlans in domU
Hello.
I''m trying to use vlan in domU, but have something strange:
I created bridge on eth0. This interface was configured as trunk with
vlan 300, 301. I use this bridge in my domU, and I can see tagged
packets when run tcpdump in domU. Also I created interface on domU to
work with vlan 300. On this interface I see untagged packets in vlan300.
And everything looks fine.
But when

[Bridge] Re: Bridge Digest, Vol 31, Issue 6
Hello
You must add first:
vlan (tagged) to eth2
eth2 interface is not tagged by default and not know vlan-s .
It is like a cisco if you have 24 ports in cisco by default all ports
are in vlan1. if you want to do trunk (with vlans) you myst add (vlans)
to this ports (tagged or untagged)
So you can compare that all interfaces in linux by default are in one
vlan(but not tagged). (only for

CDR-CSV Processing
Does anyone have any tools to process CDR-CSV files into reports? I don't have anything specific in mind, I'd just like some reporting examples so I don't have to reinvent the wheel.
