Has anyone done any integration with this?
All I know so far is that it appears to use some non standard form of SIP.
Any pointers?

Nortel 1140E
Anyone get the Nortel 1140E phones working with Asterisk ?
These look like great phones and I would like to start using them on
our deployments. I know these will work with Asterisk but the sample
config files are hard to find. My next step, if I cant find anything on
this list is to purchase a Nortel Communication Server for testing.
If anyone has a used NCS that works with these phone via SIP

Slow Printing with Windos 98 Clients
I am running Samba on a Red Hat 7.2 server.
I shared a Epson Stylus C80 printer as the instructions collected in many

The printer is working, but the print job stated from windows 98 clients
takes to much time to get the server.
The job is around 5 megabytes in size and takes 2 to 3 minutes to get the

windos 10 <-> samba file server -> problems
Hi,
we have a strange problem with a win 10 system.
The windows system is using network shares exported from
a linux system running samba 4.8. ~250 people are using the
shares without any problem.
This server is running automatically some mysql queries.
The results of the queries are written to a file on the share.
1 or 2 times (from 10) this will fail. We only get an error like

Samba + Windos XP/2k + Netbench Problem
Hi all,
there is a problem with the 'Default: nt smb support = yes' option in
smb.conf for at least Samba 2.2.3a and 2.2.4 (on FreeBSD 4.5-STABLE)
when using Netbench 7.0.2 on WXP or W2k clients.
If the client is set to run 2+ Netbench engines (to simulate 2+ real
clients) and 'nt smb support = yes', all but one engine fail pretty
quickly, usually during a movefile oder

Problems building zaptel 1.4.4
Hi,
I'm having trouble compiling zaptel 1.4.4 on SUSE 10.1. I'm really
only interested in getting ztdummy to work because this is a dev
machine with no zaptel h/w. SUSE 10.1 is a 2.6 kernel:
asterisk-dev:/home/hugh # uname -r
2.6.16.13-4-default
It seems that my problem is related to autoconf.h - I cannot find that file:
asterisk-dev:/home/hugh # find / -name 'autoconf.h'

QOS and Asterisk
I will have a small shop with ~4 phones using an HP server with Asterisk on it, it has two NICS and so I planned on plugging one into the cable modem, and the other into the switch. I was going to let this box perform NAT for the company but I am concerned about QOS for the VOIP portion.
Anyone got a similar setup and care to share what they successfully implemented?
Thanks!

Siemens Gigaset IP in USA (S685 IP in particular)
For some unfathomable reason, Siemens USA doesn't offer the Gigaset IP
range in the U.S. I'm particularly interested in the Gigaset S685 IP.
Since it's DECT 6.0, and there's an English (UK) version, I'm thinking
it should work just fine, after dealing with the walwart issue (and
maybe caller ID signalling).
Anyone imported one from the UK and using it in the US? for how

Siemens Gigaset S685IP Review
Hi there,
in case anyone is interested, I've just taken ownership of a small home
network (3 handsets) of the brand new Siemens DECT PSTN/VOIP phone.
It works great with Asterisk. Here's my overview and review so far...

microphone on Polycom 550/650
I have quite a number of users complaining that when they are using handsfree to talk over a landline, the other end can't hear them. It's like the person is speaking 5 feet away and can barely hear their voice. However between internal SIP calls, it's fine.
What could be the problem?

Hi,
Has anyone ever seen an Snom320 lose settings?
It's been working fine for months and then I got a call this morning
saying that it was asking for country, timezone etc.
I logged in remotely, and it had lost the server address, username,
password, mailbox and ringtone.

Heist of MagicJack SIP credentials?
While I myself am not a MagicJack user, I'm curious as to whether anyone
here has managed to heist their MagicJack account's sip credentials, and
use them to terminate calls using asterisk. Apparently it's as simple
as sniffing the SIP credentials. If so, said person would enjoy
unlimited termination for $20 year while retaining the flexibility of
setting their CallerID to a

html/js/flash/air SIP clients?
Dear list,
I am looking for an open source SIP client(or any SDK) that can work on a
browser. It may be based html5, javascript, flash, adobe air. I have done
some research myself and I would like to ask the community if they have any
further hints for me. Real life experience would be awesome.
Thanks,
