OpenVox A400P01on thin client?
Hello,
I'm thinking of ordering an OpenVox A400P01 (A400P + 1 PORT FXO Bundle)
for use in a old IBM 8364 thin client:

Has someone already used this hardware with Asterisk, especially on a small
piece of hardware like this, and could offer some feedback?
Thank you.

PXE-bootable diskless Asterix distro?
Hello
Since I got the IBM Netvista to boot Linux, and am still waiting for
the Compact Flash cards that I ordered, I was wondering if someone
knew of an Asterisk distribution that can run on that kind of diskless
host?
I've taken a look at AstLinux and AskoziaPBX, but they both seem to be
meant to be installed on a solid-state medium instead of RAM. For
instance, the Netvista is unable to

New Embedded Distro
Hi All,
A couple of weeks ago I noticed Askozia PBX, which is a new embedded
Asterisk & OS distro at http://askozia.com/pbx. This caught my
attention for two reasons; it uses v1.4 of Asterisk, and it uses the
m0n0wall development framework to build on FreeBSD with a PHP based
GUI. I've used m0n0wall for years, and FreeNAS also, which shares the
same OS/GUI framework.

FYI: IBM Netvista locking up
Hello,
Having not been able to run a kernel without locking up since
2.6.9-34.0.2.EL, I think I have found the 'fix'. There are numerous post
about this and all suggest its related to ACPI. For me, its APIC. I added
the following to grub.conf: noapic apic=off. Been up now 4 days, 22 mins.
running 2.6.9-78.0.8.EL. Previously I could get maybe 4 - 6 hours before
locking up.

CentOS 4.4-IBM Netvista Performace Problems, help needed.
I've got an odd situation that I need some advise on. I have two
computers that I am planning to use as a cluster. I initially started
with some left over Compaq Presairos with 667MHz CPUs. I loaded CentOS
4.3 and later updated to 4.4. Things ran normally, albeit slowly. I
had an opportunity to upgrade to a pair of IBM Netvistas with 2.26 GHz
CPUs, I did this by transferring the

Questions on X100P/X101P cards
Hello,
I'm looking for a dirt cheap solution for SOHO use to handle at most
a couple of POTS lines, and I notice that X10?P cards go for $15 on
eBay as opposed to $90 for an OpenVox card or over $200 for a Sangoma.
I have a couple of questions about those cheap FXO cards:
1. Are they all glorified softmodems, ie. none has an on-board CPU or
DSP and outsources all processing to the

Minimal Asterisk Web Interface?
I'm looking for a web GUI to Asterisk that I can run on some small embedded hardware. I've used FreePBX in the past but the overhead is not to my liking and it is entirely too complicated. I do not wish to change my entire OS just for the GUI either (aka AstLinux). Is there anything out there? I'd like to have only a small set of features, primarily the configuration of extensions,

1.6 and asterisk gui
Hello,
I'm new to asterisk and this list. The ISO download appears to have
1.6 with the FreePBX GUI but I am looking to use the Asterisk GUI.
The only option for the Asterisk GUI is to use 1.4. Is it as simple
as installing 1.6 only then using the yum repository to install the
Asterisk GUI? If so, what packages are needed?
Thanks!

Compact, fanless appliance?
Hello
For those SOHO customers (ie. at most, a couple of POTS/ISDN
connections and simultaneous SIP calls) who'd rather not use a big,
noisy PC to run Asterisk, I'd like to offer an alternative that has
the following features:
- not old hardware sold on eBay, ie. it must be up-to-date hardware
sold by a company currently in business
- compact, silent
- has room for a 2.5" hard-disk,

VoIP Users Conference Recordings
Hi,
Alistair Cunningham of Integrics was our guest yesterday. We talked
about Integrics new product Geons, a suite of software for building
large-scale distributed enterprise applications. The recorded session

Digium-compatible A400P board with a single FXO module

dialplan logic questions: macro not reaching DIALSTATUS based extension (s-ANSWER)
Hello everyone,
I'm having some troubles with some dialplan logic I've written which
sends missed call notifications via e-mail. It's currently sending
these notifications even if the call was answered, marking them all as
hung-up. What I've been able to see is that the macro never reaches
the "s-ANSWER" bits which mark the call as successful.
I've posted my

Any good guides for installing Asterisk on Embedded systems like Alix boards?
Hi Everyone,
Knowing that running Asterisk on an embedded board like the Alix2d3 requires
some fine tuning. Do you know of any good guides out there that does this
from beginning to end? Looking to run this in a small office environment.
Thanks

they compare? Digium's sells for $150 while OpenVox's sells for $95.
Thanks.

Smallest possible Asterisk VM
How small can an Asterisk system be, in terms of disk space utilized?
I am looking for just asterisk, with mysql, postgresql, or sqlite,
with PHP and Python.
After finishing the build and removing the tools, how small can the
whole system be?
100Mb, 200Mb?
Can packages be used to build the whole system, like using debs and rpms alone?
