Hi All Im having problems setting up a dialup connect in CentOS PPC I get the following error when attempting to use wvdial (modem set as /dev/ttyS0) --> Cannot open /dev/ttyS0: input/output error Ive tried kppp but ive had not luck Anyone know how to fix this? normally I would use pppconfig and pon/poff but havent been able to use/find them, are they install by default? __ Note: this

I just tried the Centos 5 Live CD on my Thinkpad T41. It works pretty good but did not recognize my Laptop's modem or WiFi (I guess no surprise there). I do have a CardBus modem that is not a Win-modem that I could try when I get home. I did not see anyway to configure a PPP dialup call. I have a friend with a PRI coming into a modem bank that is receiving 56K modem calls and some ISDN data calls. He wants to dump his analog office phone lines and use some of the capacity on the PRI. I have been digging through the mail archives and Wiki site on this subject but the information I found doesn't give me a high enough confidence to go buy a few T1 cards and try it out.

Hello folks, I've been trying to get T.38 over SIP working with calls terminated by a MAX/Lucent/Ascent TNT. As far as I can tell, SIP and T.38 are actually working perfectly; however, I can't get the TNT to properly terminate a FAX call. Does anyone have a working configuration for SIP and T.38 for calls from a TNT or APX? Here's a brief description/diagram of my test setup:

I know this has been raised before, but I can't find any info less than a couple of years old. 2 programmes run under wine report low disk space, even though there is plenty of space on the hard drives. The same programmes run on another machine ( same version of wine, 0.9.16) don't report low disk space. Can anyone help? Ian

When first time logging into Samba (or share), using an dialup internet modem connection, it seems to take between 50-70 seconds to respond to a Windows 98 request.
