Comparing origination from CLI and from AMI
Hi,
Using FOP, I've met a situation which makes me ask this simple question :
Are both A and B commands bellow equivalent ?
A. CLI:
originate SIP/9122 application dial Local/9123 at local
B. AMI/FOP:
192.168.64.5 -> Action: Originate
192.168.64.5 -> Channel: SIP/9122
192.168.64.5 -> Async: True
192.168.64.5 -> Callerid: 9122 Guest2 <9122>
192.168.64.5 -> Exten: 9123

How to trace incoming AMI requests ?
Hello,
Is there a way to trace into a log file, incoming AMI requests ?
For instance, I've got several apps accross the LAN, sending AMI requests
such as :
Action: originate
Channel: Local/7539 at internal
Exten: 00123456789
Priority: 1
...
Some of them might be sometimes producing some erroneous requests.
I would like to check from server side, that each received request is
formatted and

AMIProxyPal - AMI Proxy Project
After having misunderstood some key elements of AstManProxy, I started to write
my own proxy server for Asterisk AMI. I was under the impression that it
required a mysql database to cache its data for some reason. (Is there another
AMI proxy that uses a mysql database?) At any rate, I had written about 70% of
the core functionality so I decided to continue on. I'm not a C programmer so

AstManProxy - Manager
Hello,
I cannot find documnetation explaining how to access AstManProxy. I am
working with Asterisk Java and accessing Asterisk Manager. I wonder if
AStManProxy is using the same API as Manager? Can I access it with
Asterisk java too ?

Manager API in PHP
Hi,
I need a hack to query current calls coming in and going out an Asterisk
1.6.1 system and send this list back as a custom UserEvent to other
listening endpoints.
For various reasons, I might need to write this hack in PHP though I'm more
experienced with Asterisk Java.
What is your opinion regarding PHP AMI API and Asterisk 1.6.1 ?

Originating calls: Astmanproxy vs Direct Connection vs Call files
I've got around 45 people who need to place calls from our inhouse app.
What is the considered "best practice" for placing these calls:
1) All clients connect to astmanproxy, and use AMI API Originate command
2) All clients connect directly to the astersik AMI and use the API
Originate command
3) All clients create a db record, some process reads the record and
writes out a call

astmanproxy?
Hi,
We currently fire multiple HTTP requests (via multi-curl) to the AJAM
interface in order to place calls. We are finding Asterisk has it's
limits however, and I've found astmanproxy recommended for helping
maintain the connections. This would prove particularly useful with
multiple servers of course.
However, in testing astmanproxy crashes with buffer overflows.
This leads to the

Which multi-platform client-side Python library implements AMI ?
Hi,
Though ARI exists these days, is there any Python library implementing AMI
that fulfil the following requirements :
- client-side (may be installed on bax in which Asterisk is not running)
- multi-platform (Linux, Windows)
- take care of filtering various events to simplify operations such as
login/logout, origination,
- include some examples.

Feature request: "database show" from manager API
Hi,
In ASTDB, I've got a rather long list of entries like:
/FamilyA/Key1 Value1
/FamilyA/Key2 Value2
/FamilyA/Key3 Value3
...
Instead of sending several DBGet queries (and parsing every response), I'm
wondering if a single "database show" or "database show family" query could
be implemented.
Alternative if to use ssh ("asterisk -rx "database show

Cisco 7941 localized menus with SIP firmware
Hi,
Has anyone met any success, installing localized (ie non-english) menus
within SIP firmware enabled Cisco 7941 ?
Those phones seem to be trying to download localized menus from Cisco Call
Manager but as they are managed by an Asterisk server, I'm looking for a
workaround.
Any advice ?

Latest AstManProxy
Hi,
I unsuccessfully tried to download AstManProxy, clicking over download
button in http://github.com/davetroy/astmanproxy/tree/master .
It failed with "XML error".
How can you download AstManProxy ?
Has the project moved to somewhere else ?
Have its features been deprecated and replaced by something embedded in
Asterisk code or elsewhere ?

Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI) proxy recommendation
Hello there,
I'm new to Asterisk and I'm trying to figure out a way to make the
Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI) accessible to multiple users at the
same time. Would anyone recommend an AMI proxy that could be accessed
from PHP code?
Thanks in advance,

Is it possible to use spandsp and patton to do fax2mail ?
Hi,
I succesfully install spandsp chan_misdn and digium card. the rxfax works
fine and I get the fax result by email.
I would like to do the same using a Patton gw + zaptel but I can't receive
fax anymore,
the call comes in from ISDN in the Patton gw, patton sends it to asterisk,
asterisk run a macro to make a tif file using rxfax,
the tif file is correctly created but with a 0 size the call

Manager API and astmanproxy
For a long time now we've used the astmanproxy process to handle manager
connections (75+ clients) so that these clients can tap into the
dialplan / send commands etc.
We use astmanproxy because at that time the manager connection routines
of asterisk did not cope well with numerous connections, either
permanent or as-needed.
Does anyone have any experience of later versions of asterisk

OT - Astmanproxy download broken ?
Hi,
Is Astmanproxy still downloadable ?
At the moment, I can't download anything.
I'm usually using this http://github.com/davetroy/astmanproxy/tarball/masterURL
I can use a previous tar file but I would be pleased to know if I should do
something around this issue or not.

OT: SIP hardphone with multi-color BLF
Hi,
Is anyone aware of a SIP hardphone with Busy Lamp Fields supporting 2 colors
(or more) ?
This could be very useful to support extended presence, for instance.
