winhelp.exe - tiny, unreadable fonts (SOLVED)
The default wine help reader, winhelp.exe, seems to have only a single
font that it will display help files with. Unfortunately, this font
appears really tiny and unreadable on my 1600x1200 screen. And there
seems to be no easy way to change this font without diving in to the
source (which is what I ultimately did).
In what follows I will first describe my unsuccessful attempts to

WoW freeze computer
Hi all,
my problem is probably common (I actually asked for help for a similar
problem in the past), but I cannot find any solution.
While I play with World of Warcraft my computer keep freezing (totally,
I have to push the reset button).
I have Kubuntu 8.04 64 Bits and Wine 1.1.2 (but the problems started
with the 0.9.59 and all the versions afterward) on a an Intel Core 2 Duo

[Oblivion] broken Menu Fonts
Hi there dear Wine fanatics^^
I recently moved to Linux(kubuntu 8.10) and am using Wine for playing now. Everything works really well thanks to my tweaking. There is however one bug I couldn't solve myself, that are the fonts in Oblivion:

As you can see, I ran Oblivion in a virtual Desktop, the menu has some broken colours on its

CentOS 5 - Issues with multimedia
Hi,
I am having some issues with CentOS 5.
-XMMS stops playing MP3s without apparent reason. I leave it playing
some album and it will just stop whenever it feels like it. It will go
into "pause" and just stay there. Pressing on the pause button to
resume does nothing at all. I thought it could be some newly encoded
songs, but it does the same for a song that I have played 100% times.

Java animations, Google Earth flashing with Compiz enabled
On a Dell Inspiron E1505 / 6400 with the ATI x1400 video card running
the fglrx driver on Kubuntu 8.04, I have some video problems while
running Compiz. I am not using XGL, in fact, I removed it from the
system as it was causing performance issues. The symptoms I describe
here were present before removing XGL, as well as after.
The test applet on java.com flashes (as if it disappears between

Installing Centos 7 on 4K laptop
I have recently bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7570 laptop with a 4K display on which I want to install Centos 7. I had some problems with the first install and am therefore redoing the install.
One problem is the minuscule font, both in the text window and in the graphic installer. It has been suggested that I should add nomodeset to the grub installer. There is an option to use TAB to complete

Tiny help for tiny function
I just started to write tiny functions and therefore I appologise in advance
if I am asking stupid question.
I wrote a tiny function to give me back from the original matrix, a matrix
showing only the values smaller -0.8 and bigger 0.8.
y<-c(0.1,0.2,0.3,-0.8,-0.4,0.9)
x<-c(0.5,0.3,0.9,-0.9,-0.7,0.3)
XY<-rbind(x,y)

Unusable Font after upgrading to wine 1.4 (Ubuntu 12.04)
Hello,
today I upgraded my system from Kubuntu 11.04 to 12.04 and installed wine 1.4.
Now, most my Windows apps (e.g. the "configure wine" program) have ugly, almost unreadable fonts
TTF-Fonts are installed and working properly when explicitly chosen, but all the "standard" fonts (like for menus, window titles and so on) are bold, grainy and not anti aliased.
I don't know

TINY fonts
Hello there,
am I really the only one, who compiled wine20050211 source,
run wineinstall script, changed [fonts] section in config to match
my dirs (ttf, afm) on my Mandrake 10.1 system AND STILL HAVING ALMOST
UNREADABLE FONTS in applications using standard windows fonts (not its
own)? (I'm not using any M$ stuff, including fonts - just those in
X windows (xfs running)).

Every other week, I felt an urge to send out this patch. Thank you so
much, Daniel! There are more candidates for tiny/. They are all <20k
LOCs and all we'd have to do is to move their code into a single file.
bochs or arc come into my mind.

About Guest running Tiny Core Linux
Hi,
I am using Tiny Core Linux for the guests running on KVM. Is it possible to
use libguestsfs tools for this kind of VMs? For example, VM_TC (the name of
the VM provided in libvirt) uses a qcow2 disk image. This disk image is
created from iso file of Tiny Core Linux using qemu-img utility. My host is
ubuntu 12.04. I have tried to use virt-ls tool but could not succeed and is

Command and Conquer 3
I am running Kubuntu 10.10 on a 5-year-old Dell Inspiron. I would like to run CNC3: Kane's Wrath through Wine, and I successfully installed it using the PlayOnLinux frontend. The only problem is that I need to install CNC3 to play it, and every time I try the installation quits just when the files are about to be copied, citing an error with msiexec.
Note that while I would like to play CNC3

Installing Centos 7 on 4K laptop
Hello, not sure what you mean by "There is an option to use TAB to complete
option choices but nomodeset does not seem to be one of the available
options" but in my experience nomodeset option works pretty well when put
to grub boot parameters.

Fonts are too small in menu bar
Hi.
Is there any chance I can increase the size of my fonts for the applications opened with wine?
My resolution is 1600 x 1050 and the size seems to be from 5 to 6 pixels (or dpi) and it really hurts my eyes.
All my linux apps are just ok at 10 pixels (or dpi)
Thanks in advance

Wine not running any programs, including winecfg
I am new to linux, and new to wine, and think I may have actually stepped a little out of my depth by jumping into it without a little more coding/programming experience. I am running Kubuntu Hardy, and have encountered a serious problem with wine 1.1.7, in that it doesn't want to function. If I click on exe files, it will open a tab on the taskbar, show activity, then kill the tab.

[LLVMdev] Fwd: Tiny bug in Kaleidoscope sample (FALSE ALARM)
Nope, it seems that the code is correct after all. Perhaps a bit unclear,
but correct. So shame on me!
