helper methods starting with should
Hi all, As an experiment in playing nice with others, we''ve added the ability in rspec''s trunk to do this: class ThingExamples < Spec::ExampleGroup def should_do_stuff ... end end This is how rspec 0.1 worked, and for people already comfortable with the classes/methods approach of Test::Unit, it is a more comfortable entry point to rspec. For others, however, it

mock framework ethics question
Hi James, Jim, and everyone else who''s listening. I''ve been investigating an interesting bug related to mocks and rails AssociationProxies. See http://rubyforge.org/tracker/?func=detail&atid=3149&aid=12547&group_id=797 for details. The crux is that if you do this (rspec mock syntax): obj.should_receive(:msg).with(mock_of_a_model) and the implementation does

[ rspec-Patches-9605 ] Patch for ER 9472, shared behaviour
Hi all - I''ve applied (to trunk) Bob Cotton''s patch which supports shared behaviours (link to tracker below). I''m still toying w/ names, so please be aware that until this is released w/ 0.9 it should be considered experimental and there will NOT be translation support for it. It will definitely be included in some form - just the names (specifically

Error when accessing flash through helper specs
Running edge rspec/rails I''m having a heck of a time testing helpers which are accessing the flash(1) since changeset 2044. Is anyone else seeing this problem? Has anyone found a workaround and or proper fix? POST parameters incorrectly appended to REQUEST_URI
My rspec controller tests are appending POST params to the request_uri as though they are GET variables. So this line: post :create, :foo => ''bar'' Generates a request_uri that looks like this: my_restful_controller?foo=bar However when performing the same action from the actual application, the params are not appended to the request_uri (as expected). Looks like this
