Parking on an extension
Hi
Is there any way to park a call on an extension. Say a customer calls
in and wants to speak with Steve. Steve is currently on the phone. How
can I park the call so that when Steve hangs up his phone immediately
rings and he is connected to the parked call.
Thanks

DSl and more then 1 call
Hi
I have 2 asterisk servers running 1.2.12.1 and IAX2 with trunking and no jitterbuffer. Both servers are using sccp2 with 7940's and 7960's with 7914. Server 1 is my main VOIP server and is connected to the pstn and VOIP wholesale provider. Sever 2 is a branch site and all calls go to server 1. If I make 1 call on server 2 everything is fine. If I make a 2nd call so there a two calls

E911 SIP or IAX providers?
Does anyone have any experience with any SIP or IAX providers that
support E911? I'd love to convert entirely to Asterisk at my house,
but the lack of emergency dialing has been a major hold-up for me.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

AA50 Paging
Hi
I just got an AA50 from Digium and the paging command reboots
asterisk when you use it. Digium says it is a requested feature and is
of low priority. Is there any other way to page 10 Grandstream gxp2000
phones with meetme or some other command than the page command.
Thanks in advance.

dial from voicemail
Hi
Is it possible to dial from within voicemail to reach another extension.
I would like my customers to have a choice of dialing 1 to get my cell
phone while in voicemail or to just leave a message at the tone.
Thanks

Hold
Hi
I am trying to set up a hold system so that a call is always parked in the same spot no matter how many times it is picked up. My problem is I cannot fins a variable the identifies the call all the way through until it is destroyed. ${UNIQUEID} and ${CHANNEL} both seam to get lost when the call is parked. I tried setting
set($[?${UNIQUEID}-hold?=?701?])

Park buttons on Polycom IP501/601
Is anyone using fixed Park buttons (some of the ones on the left side
of the screen) on a Polycom phone? Here's what I mean:
- Call is received and parked, by the user pressing an unlit park
button (e.g. 701) and the call is parked there.
- The call can be picked up at any other extension by pressing the
flashing park 701 button.
- Once the call has been picked up, the 701 park slot is idle

one-button call parking/pickup on Asterisk with Polycom phones?
Anyone want to talk briefly about one-button call parking/pickup on
Asterisk with Polycom phones? Does anyone use it or know to do it?
On many phone systems there are 2 or 3 park buttons, and you can park
a call onto an unlit park button, and then the light flashes. You can
go to any other phone, and press the park button with the flashing
light to pick up the call.
Super easy from the

microphone on Polycom 550/650
I have quite a number of users complaining that when they are using handsfree to talk over a landline, the other end can't hear them. It's like the person is speaking 5 feet away and can barely hear their voice. However between internal SIP calls, it's fine.
What could be the problem?

Fixed! Thanks all:RE: scatterplot to boxplot translation?
Thanks to David and Jorge - both of your helpful suggestions got me to the desired endpoint. In case anyone else has this question: I boxplotted my y variable data, but did the "cut" operation on the x variable in order to conserve the order of the y data. I see another suggestion coming in from another user that basically says this.
So, my working line of code was:

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
The HBA is an HP H220.
We haven?t really benchmarked individual drives ? all 12 drives are utilized in one RAID-10 array, I?m unsure how we would test individual drives without breaking the array.
Trying ?hdparm -tT /dev/sda? now ? it?s been running for 25 minutes so far?

Quick bash tip for finding free SIP extensions from your sip.conf
Created this function on one of my machines today, thought others might
find it useful:
freesip() {
comm -2 <(seq $2 $3) <(cat $1 | grep ^\\[ | sort | uniq | tr -d \[ | tr -d
\]) | grep ^[[:digit:]]
}
On RedHat/CentOS based systems you can create the following file to have
the function available on login:
/etc/profile.d/freesip.sh
# Free SIP extensions
freesip() {
comm -2 <(seq $2

Jabber/Asterisk Integration
Started playing with 1.4 and I'm curious what uses people have come up
with for the Jabber integration? So far I can think of presence based
call routing, but I'm sure there are other ideas. How are YOU using
the new Jabber features in 1.4? :)

Polycom Call Park (with sip debug attached)
If I have two extensions:
exten 128 SIP username: chris
exten 117 SIP username: pam
I call 128 from 117, and then try to use the Polycom IP 600 "park"
softkey (on 117), it fails and this is what happens:
Sip read:
REFER sip:128@192.168.25.1 SIP/2.0
Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.25.119:5060;branch=z9hG4bKae271046B272902B

Polycom Do Not Disturb button and asterisk hints
Hi,
Is there ANY way for me to see the status of the Polycom DND buttons in the
Asterisk hints? I`m using the BLF buttons to see the status of other
people`s lines, and DND should logically be somehow reflected (I don`t care
as much about Polycom showing the BLF button as DND, but I do care about
Asterisk hints showing it in the CLI).
Right now, a Polycom phone on DND shows up as being

Polycom screwed up Messages button in 1.4.1?
I think Polycom has added another feature that nobody wants.
With MWI configured, and a phonexxx.cfg that has this:
<msg msg.bypassInstantMessage="1">
<mwi msg.mwi.1.subscribe="" msg.mwi.1.callBackMode="contact"
msg.mwi.1.callBack="XXX" msg.mwi.2.subscribe=...>

Under 1.3.4 and earlier, the phone would immediately
