nat=yes
Hi List; If I set nat=yes, then asterisk will send the packets to the public IP address or to the private IP address (which will be for the endpoint that is behind the nating)? And by setting the nat=yes, then what exactly will be ignored at asterisk side when reading the registeration messages from the endpoint? Any help. Regards Bilal

encoder_example input formats
Hi all I have the raw out put of a video camera in following format: mjpegb, yuvj422p, 1920x1080, 24.00 fps(r). I cannot directly convert this raw footage to Theora due to the YUV4MPEG2 only restriction of the encoder_example. Isn't it better to support other raw formats in encoder_example, such as what I have, mjpegb, yuvj422p? I presume even if I convert the mjpegb, yuvj422p to

Bridging two PSTN calls
Hi, I'm a novice trying out an experiment with Asterisk and was unsure of the hardware needs for it. I'm wondering if its possible to receive a call from an external number (PSTN) say A. Then make a call to another external number (PSTN) say B - and then bridge the two calls so that A is talking to B? What hardware will I need to be able to do this. Secondly, if I had x number of

FLAC: re-encoding
Harry, I wrote a little command line utility for this in C# - the lib it uses is a little overkill for the task but it does work. As Josh noted there is no compression gain, so I wouldn't bother unless you have FLAC's encoded with older versions. I also think Josh said there's a .BAT file out there that does the same thing. Here's the file:

Secondary Dialtone and selecting a specific line from Zap/g
I need to select a line from the Zap group channel using the SIP Phone (not FXO and not FXS ports). ignorepat does not work? Also, what is the method to let the second dial tone has another tone frequency? Regards Bilal ---------------- No, ignorepat is for FXS ports (FXS ports use FXO signaling). Also, ignorepat does not apply to SIP phones, because SIP phones provide their own dialtone,

Any way to run openssh daemon on a kickstart client (stage2)?
Hi, Any one have succeeded in firing up a sshd daemon when a machine is being kickstarted? I know VNC can be setup to minitor the kickstart process, but it is too limited and so I can not see the console and other screens with ALT+Fn keys. If sshd daemon can be setup at this stage, then we can remotely ssh into the being kickstarted client(s). and directly see what things happen during %pre,

Shorewall and printing problems in the LAN ( loc ) zone
Guys, Just a quick check. From what i have read in the shorewall site, intrazone traffic is allowed completely by shorewall i.e. there is no filtering or packet size limiting ,etc,etc. I ask this becos after getting shorewall up and running well, someone has complained that they cannot print pdf files larger than 100k at one go but that they have to print one page at a time. Some details;

FLAC: re-encoding

special kind of billing
Dear Sirs, we ... 1) buy minutes from other providers 2) sell minutes to out clients some calls terminate to our equipment, others - to h323 proxies. we want calls to be routed according to costs (a route is chosen from many by lowest cost). at the end of it, we'd like to bill our clients and see how much have we earned (money we receive from client on one side, money we pay to proxies on

compression ratio
hi i was wondering if it's possible to tell me what the theoretical best compression ratio the flac encoder can do, because i was wondering what the future of flac will bring us. So this question is probably best addressed to Josh: can we suspect much better compression ratio in the future or is the encoder already at his *almost* peak compression level. thx in advance!
