[VOIP-Users-Conference] Potential subject for Friday - Does the Asterisk community need a 3rd party commercial software ecosystem?
Hi BJ, Further explanation about the 3rd party ecosystem question this morning Cory Andrews from VoIP supply was on the Voip-Users conference call last week. I asked the question - how much of VoIP Supply revenue is product versus applications - he said we don't sell any services such as ITSP hosted Asterisk so I replied that wasn't what I was thinking of and gave the example of Snap

This email is off topic. If it offends you then suck it :-) But seriously, I know this will interest USA readers (unfortunately for now primarily on the west coast only). How cool is this concept http://techshop.ws/index.html Cheers, Dean ________________________________ From: Dean Collins Sent: Sunday, 3 August 2008 7:53 PM To: 'newtech-1 at meetup.com' Subject: TechShop

Alec Saunders post about Mashable Telco's
Interesting read in Alec Saunders blog today. http://saunderslog.com/2007/03/01/mashable-telcos/ Thought it may interest some people on this list. As food for thought, why it is that ITSP's haven't come up with more 'interesting' voice applications? When asterisk first became available I thought it was the beginning of seeing really neat applications, think Verzion's

Orative
Has anyone heard anything about these guys? Anyone seen anything like this? http://www.orative.com/solutions.php It's seems very cool, basically uses GPRS as a digital overlay on your mobile phone for additional functionality such as presence and IM though I'm sure they have some other functionality (voicemail access, call announce etc) coming down the pipeline. Any thoughts,

Outlook dialing
The bar is getting raised yet again http://www.voipmonitor.net/2007/06/05/New+Features+And+Services+For+Pack et8+Virtual+Office.aspx I personally use Snapanumber $30 or there abouts (after trialing a few other TAPI solutions and finding them sub-par) and think it's a great product but interesting to see how more people are expecting desktop/phone integration applications. Does anyone

OT: Mobile voip - WCell
Not related to asterisk: but I figured someone here would have used them before? Has anyone tried http://www.wcell.com/ab/ZnJpZW5kLzEwNjI= yet? Looks like they have a voip app for your mobile handset sending voice calls out over your data service or wifi for 1c per minute calls both in the USA and internationally. Wondering if i should sign up with them for my trip to Australia

What application integration would you like to see between MS (either Office or other aspects of the vista/xp OS) and Asterisk. Apart from dial from outlook and

FW: Microsoft buys Tellme

TellMe Voice Recognition in Asterisk working..
A couple of weekends ago I decided to see if I could get Asterisk to play nice with TellMe's VoiceXML studio. They provide the VoiceXML studio for free, and you can access it through SIP, so I thought this would be a fun and cheap way to integrate voice recognition into my IVR. I have posted a brief tutorial with code and examples on the voip-info.org wiki (
