Polycom SoundPoint... Gains - Which isfor speakerphone
Thanks, I was afraid to try and change gains that I didn't know what
they did simply because I don't want to blow a speaker or something.. :)
I'll try it today.
The only thing I haven't figured out is how to set a default ringer in
the configuration file, set my time to EST w/ Daylight Savings and when
receiving incoming calls if it's possible to see NAME & NUMBER instead

Polycom SoundPoint... Gains -Which is for speakerphone
John,
By chance do you know how to set a default ringer?
What I have done is the following:
<DEFAULT se.rt.1.name="Default" se.rt.1.type="ring"
se.rt.1.ringer="7" se.rt.1.callWait="6" se.rt.1.mod="1"/>
As you can see, I want 7 to be the default ringer for line 1... For some
reason, it doesn't take these changes.

Handsfree Speakerphone
Hi,
What is out there in terms of SIP enabled handsfree speakerphones?
Looking for something that works well and also fits a low budget.
I am used to using a Cisco 7940. It is a great phone but a bit expensive.
Thought about the Polycom SoundPoint 300 until I realized that it does not
include speakerphone functionality.
Thanks,

multiline IP hardphone w/ FDX speakerphone?
Could someone please recommend a reasonably priced IP phone
that works well with *, has a decent (full duplex, echo canceling)
speakerphone, has at least two line appearances, and can
transfer / conference reliably?
The Wiki lists 35 brands of hardphone, but:
1. Most seem to be toys.
2. For many, there is no info on e.g. speakerphone characteristics.
3. When one seems technically promising, e.g.

Polycom SoundPoint... Gains - Which is for speakerphone
now that I have finally figured out what I was doing wrong with my
polycom phone and got it to read the configuration file Im changing some
gains.
I successfully changed the gain for the ringer... It was too low for me.
Does anyone know which gain would be for the call waiting and which tone
would be for the "hands free" mode?
Thanks

2 way intercom recommendation for restaurant kitchens
Greetings,
I need a 2 way intercom for separate kitchens to communicate without
having to walk back and forth.
The speaker has to be loud but clear, not distorted. Sometimes the
kitchens can be noisy.
It needs to be easy to use.
It needs to be easy to clean.
It would be nice if it used POE.
Eventually I would like the kitchens to be able to dial different parts
of the restaurant when I

Potential reboot problem with Polycom IP600 phones
Passing this along. I got it tonight from a friend:
Basis Technology has uncovered a potentially serious issue with the
Polycom SoundPoint IP600 SIP phones, which causes them to spontaneously
reboot at unpredictable times. It appears that if the amount of current
being delivered to the phone falls below a certain threshold, the phone
will reboot.
Here are the specific circumstances which will

[VOIP-Users-Conference] Re: Opinions please: Polycom IP 430 vs 330?
Let me add another variable into the mix...what about the Linksys
SPA-962? Good, bad or otherwise? The 32 button sidecar seems like a
deal at $80 street price.

Paging, Polycom and whispers
Hi,
Is there a way to page a Polycom phone that is already in use (if, of
course, the call isn't on speakerphone already)?

Didn't see if anyone had answered you or not on this, but Polycom uses
their own form of MulticastRTP. It

Polycom 330 not dialing 4 digit extensions beginning with 11xx
I have four Polycom 330 phones connected to an asterisk system. There
are other VoIP phones connected too. All of the extensions are four
digits beginning with 11. From any of the phones, except the Polycom,
picking up the handset to call extension 1103 for example works fine.
With the Polycom 330, as I press the second 1 of 1103 it stops taking
input and gives me an error.

Polycom dial w/o "Dial", while on-hook?
I've had phones before where, with the phone on-hook, it still implements
the local dialplan. E.g., if I dialed "0" (on-hook), after three seconds,
it would dial the operator, and have the call on speakerphone. Does
Polycom allow this functionality? Clearly, not a necessary feature... but
it would be a nice one.
Thanks!

Where to find Polycom firmware with 330/320 support?
Hi,
I just got a Polycom 330 and, of course, I don't have the firmware and
sip.cfg files to provision it. Where can I get those?

Strange noise - Polycom
I'm not sure if this is a problem with our polycom 501 phones or with a
setting in asterisk.....
When you set the "forward" option on the phone and have it point to an
outside number (a cell phone) we see the following problem... The call
does forward, but while its doing so and while its ringing, you hear
this irritating loud pulsing sound. When we call from a non-polycom
phone and

Polycom 600 problem
Andrei,
Do you have X-Windows running on the linux box? I had a similar issue
that was eliminated when I stopped this process and samba from running.
Now samba is only allowed to come up during non-business hours, for
changing BG music.
Also, make sure your registration period in either (polycom) ipmd.cfg or
sip.cfg is set to be at least the default 3600 time period. I also

Ring-Answer with Polycom 501 and Asterisk
Hi Guys
This has been discussed a little in the list before so my apologies for
sendig it again but I have done what others have done in the list but to no
avail.
I have configured Asterisk to send the callerID of extension phones as
"firstname lastname" and that seems to work well and extensions show calls
originating on other extensions in this format.
I set the following in
