"Asterisk for Small Office Setup"
Don't buy this book for its content. It's a waste of $40. However, it is useful to wave in front of my customer's faces to show them that Asterisk is real. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... *8 problem still there?
I upgraded to the latest stable version of 1.0 today and am still seeing the *8 problem where the phone that was originally dialed keeps on ringing even after another phone picks up. Are other people also seeing this? Has somebody figured out how to make this go away? Thanks! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Hangup not detected on X100P
I've configured my [*] to dial the pstn which is working like a charm. I've also configured an extension to ring when the PSTN line is ringing which is also working brilliantly, but, sometimes it doesn't detect that the call has been hungup. I've had a look on voip-info and checked the conf files but I can't see anything that I've missed. Cheers Matt

Cepstral and numbers
Does anyone have any idea on how to force cepstral to convert a number to speech ? I have noticed that sometimes it speaks the number correctly, and at others it doesn't. 1) 787 is pronounced 7-8-7 2) 123 is pronounced one-hundred and twenty-three. 1) is wrong for what i need, 2) is perfect. Is there anyway of forcing numbers to be pronounced as 2) ? I've tried looking at the ssml

pronunciation?
Anyone know how centos is actually pronounced? When people I work with ask me which linux I run, I say it like the word scent - oh - s, with a sharp S on the end. How's everyone else say it? How's it supposed to be said?

The cpc provider cometh
Hi, Finally, the long promised CPU performance counter provider has arrived into Nevada build 109! For those that need an injection of excitement at the start of the week, you can check out some usage examples on my blog: http://blogs.sun.com/jonh/entry/finally_dtrace_meets_the_cpu Also, you can find a new section for the provider in the DTrace docs:

How "expensive" are the different codecs? (Regarding CPU time)
Hi! The encoding, decoding and recoding cost cpu time, that's sure. But does this time differs much depending on the used codec? Is - for example - a G729 faster than a GSM codec? Bye! Michael

Define return values of a function
I have created a function to do something: i <- factor(sample(c("A", "B", "C", NA), 793, rep=T, prob=c(8, 7, 5, 1))) k <- factor(sample(c("X", "Y", "Z", NA), 793, rep=T, prob=c(12, 7, 9, 1))) mytable <- function(x){ xtb <- x btx <- x # do more with x, not relevant here cat("The table has been created,

two y-axis using ggplot
Dear List Members As a relatively new R user I am extremely glad for there being a nice tool such as ggplot for producing easily nice graphs in R. Now I want to produce graphs with two y-axis. I know that this has been asked a hundred times with respect to standard plots in R. (The answer, to my knowledge, has always been "No" or "No, see the help archive".) But: Is there

CTDB Error / tcp port 445 not repsonding
Hi, i need some help. We have two Networks. A CTDB Cluster and one domain controller in the same network. All other domain controller are outside this network. They are both connected with a firewall / router. We activated netbios over tcp on the other domain controllers outside but it seems that when we remove the single internal domain controller ctdb will not start with the following error.

Summary grouped by factor
### example:start v <- sample(rnorm(200), 100, replace=T) k <- rep.int(c("locA", "locB", "locC", "locD"), 25) tapply(v, k, summary) ### example:end ... (hopefully) produces 4 summaries of v according to k group membership. How can I transform the output into a nice table with the croups as columns and the interesting statistics as lines? Thx,
