Act! Integration
Is there any integration for ACT! and asterisk? I've googled for hours and haven't been able to find anything. US "Truth in caller id act"... and it's impact on services
For the 3rd consecutive term, the US Senate has introduced the "Truth in caller ID Act of 2009". It was passed by the Senate (finally) in January, and has moved to the House for a vote. A lot of states have ambiguous or overly restrictive language on how caller ID may be manipulated. For instance, if you have a PBX, and a call comes in from the PSTN, which you then loop back out

Does send_file act differently with Mongrel than withWebrick?
I tried the mime thing but it did not help. I didn''t think it was that because I can get the mp3 served OK hitting the URL in a browser. I just noticed that I am getting an error in Mongrel when WinAmp make the request for the mp3 file: BAD CLIENT (127.0.0.1): Invalid HTTP format, parsing fails. I don''t think Mongrel has a problem with the URL itself because if a browser

ACT 2000 and Windows XP problem
Hello to All! I've got a problem moving my ACT 2000 database from WinXP to Samba server on Linux. All clients are WinXP systems, Samba 2.2.5 runs on Debian Linux, 2.4.18 kernel. I have a share with ACT database which is connected to all WinXP systems as a mapped network drive. The first client starts ACT successfuly but when I try to launch ACT on the second client it says that ACT database

SIP problem - ACT p160s error
I have a setup with a polycom 601 and an act p160s. All on local segment, no NAT. Can call the act p160s, from the polycom, rings, connects, and a conversation can take place. The reverse is not true, Dialing from the act to the polycom does not work. SIP debug shows, at the end, "Incoming call: got sip response 416 "unsupported URI Scheme" back from 192.168.0.xxx. Which is

Locking Options. - ACT Database
I am trying to share an ACT 2000 database on a Samba shared network drive. Act does not currently support Samba shared networking but they do not see any reason why it should not work. Is anyone else out there using ACT in a multi-user environment over a Samba shared drive? If so what settings are you using for the "oplocks" and "level2 oplocks" for the share? Thanks, Paul.

Act! database on a Samba server
Does anyone have experience with getting an Act! database working without corruption on a Samba server? I had five users in an Act! database where I was getting pretty regular corruption, even after adding "oplocks = no" to the share. We have since moved the database onto a Win 2000 machine, but we would rather have it back on the Samba server if we can solve the corruption problem. Any

Wine, Fedora Core 4 and Act!
Newbie here, but have been running wine for a while with various programs. Anyway, I am trying to get Act! 7 (Act! 2005) to run under wine. Has anyone had any success with this? I get messages that file and print sharing need to be enabled. Any help or pointing in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks. Brian R. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. ACT Printing problems
Michael, I saw your post regarding printing problems with ACT, Windows 2000 and Samba. Did you manage to fix it? I am having exactly the same problem and receiving the same errors in my log file. I am trying to print to a Laserjet 5MP printer via samba. What I think is happening is ACT is trying to use the older LANMAN printing subsystem and not RPC. As you mentioned, I too only have this

Reverse-ATA : Using PSTN lines to connect to Asterisk
Hi, I'm looking for a few pointers on using ATA to connect Asterisk to the PSTN. Basically, I'm running a Hosted PBX service, and in urban centers I can usually get SIP or PRIs. Since I sell my customers SIP hardphones, the data flow is like this: Customer's SIP Hardphone ---- My own Asterisk ----- Outside lines But when it comes to smaller villages (I deal with people in tiny

Printing Problems from ACT with samba
Hello everybody, I have a Windows 2000 SP2 on which I am running act and users use the Terminal Server Client to access it. My problem is that when I try to print from ACT I get the following error in the samba log file [2002/05/09 11:16:01, 0] rpc_server/srv_spoolss.c:api_spoolss_open_printer_ex(42) spoolss_io_q_open_printer_ex: unable to unmarshall SPOOL_Q_OPEN_PRINTER_EX. Phones for vitural office business
I am looking for IP phones that are suited to serviced office operation. The business is to answer calls for customers. The incoming lines are E1 and customers are allocated with DID. So the customers' phone can be answered with the customers' designed messages and instruction. This can be done easily with key phone system. It seems to be a problem for IP phone system. I read previous

samba to act as bdc for w2k8 AD?
Hello everybody, could samba (version 3 or 4) act as a "bdc" for an w2k8/r2 AD? There's one external office with a few users only, and there will be a samba-based system for file-storage - so if that system could also do the user-authentication for all users there it'd be nearly perfect ... Have a nice weekend! Torsten

ACT! 6 Random Crashing
Ok, I recently upgraded to wine-0.9.29 and ACT is crashing randomly now. There doesn't seem to be any reason, or reproducible thing that I can do to make it crash, it just decides it has had enough, and crashes. Here is one output from the terminal when it crashed. wine act.exe fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 8193 (SPI_SETFOREGROUNDLOCKTIMEOUT)

OT: Recommendation for a good Internationalized terminal software
Hi all, We've got server-based application that runs on CentOS. Until now, most of our customer's end-users have accessed the application using either PuTTY or Teraterm. I was asked yesterday to try and find internationalized add ons or alternatives for our new Asian customers (Japan, Korea and China atm). I figured if anyone would be able to recommend terminal emulation

Odd Local Channel and 0 billsec issue
Hi I've been noticing an odd issue with our servers (1.4.17) where a large number of one particular customer's (we operate a hosted VoIP platform) calls go through a Local channel rather than the SIP channel and whenever this happens our asterisk CDR is recording a billsec value of 0. Our outgoing calls to POTS are sent through a separate carrier and we get a daily CDR off them in
