Marks SNMP HowTo
I followed Marks SNMP howto on Voip Magazine and ran into a small
problem... (http://www.voip-magazine.com/content/view/2877/0/1/3/)
When asterisk is running as a non-root user (asterisk) SNMP request
for for the Asterisk MIB tree return nothing. If I quit asterisk and
run it as root, all is fine. Does anyone have a idea what is going
on? I have never used agentX, so I am unsure of what it is

ast-ax-snmpd release 0.3
Hi to all,
today I have released the version 0.3 of ast-ax-snmpd.
It is some code that adds the snmp subagent functionality to asterisk,
using the ucd snmp framework and following the agentX standard.
It has tested under debian woody, with specific version of ucd_snmp,
so your mileage may vary.
I am evaluating to transfer this effort under a more recent net-snmp
umbrella,
this could permit

snmptrapd -A option deprecated?
Alle,
The man page for snmptrapd (CentOS5.2/net-snmp-5.3.1-24.el5_2.1)
*shows* the -A option (to append the output to file) is still valid, but
it is not. snmptrapd -h omits the option and doesn't show an alternate
flag. The option is still valid for snmpd. /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.options
looks like this:
OPTIONS="-A -Lf /var/log/snmptrapd.log -p /var/run/snmptrapd.pid"

Install problem with res_snmp.so from current trunk (bug?)
Just updated two fc3 systems running svn trunk. One updated, installed

Tru64 sockets bug?
We are using rsync to maintain a warm mirror of our boot disks. I just
updated to rsync 2.6.0 and noticed that the rsync runs are now getting
errors when copying sockets. The system is running Tru64 5.1A pk 4 on
an AlphaServer 4100. Is this a bug? Is there some way to not copy
sockets or should I find all of them and add them to the exclude file?
rsync was built using a straight ./configure

1.4 res_snmp dependencies (Debian)
I'm having trouble building res_snmp (under Asterisk 1.4.0) on a box
running Debian Sarge. res_snmp says its dependencies are netsnmp but
Debian doesn't seem to have a netsnmp package. I've tried installing
pretty much every package available related to snmp and no luck. I'm
just wondering if anyone has successfully built the res_snmp module
under Debian Sarge stable. Any

res_snmp
Hi,
I have problems compiling asterisk 1.4.11 with res_snmp.
I do 'make menuselect', and I see that this resource module depends on netsnmp.
I am using centOS 4.5.
I do:
> yum install net-snmp net-snmp-devel net-snmp-utils net-snmp-libs
I don't know if i am missing something.
I go to the source directory and I do:
./configure
but still does not work:

Status of nut snmp SUBagent
Hi!.
I recently installed NUT on my servers to monitor a Eaton Ellipse UPS.
Now I'm planning my next step: Monitor the UPS status with cacti using
snmp. I see that there was a nut snmp subagent (I'm not talking about
the nut-snmp driver)
(http://www.networkupstools.org/server-projects/). But the current
link doesn't work (404).
I haven't found anything about it in the web. ?Is

Asterisk 1.4.0 compile error on AMD64 Opteron server; recompile with -fPIC?
Hi,
Installed 1.4.0 libpri and 1.4.0 zaptel and everything went smoothly. I configured asterisk 1.4.0 with no problems (./configure), but when I compile it (make), it fails with this error:

/usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/libz.a(gzio.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile

res_snmp
I know that I asked this before:
I need to add res_snmp to a working 1.2.7.
Can I add it to the res directory, modify their makefile and compile
everything again?
When I tried to install everything from svn, I got messages like my zaptel
is too old, and also the same for libpri.
By the way, if you download from trunk, everything is the same download

lost udp packets
I have a CentOS release 5.8 that has snmp traps being sent to it. I've
been trying to forward the snmp traps to another system. I've tried
forwarding with snmpd/snmptrapd, iptables, and some forwarding programs.
I can see snmp traps getting delivered to the system with tcpdump and
wireshark, but no matter what app I run, the traps do not appear to be
reaching the application or port

OT: forwarding SNMP traps
Can anyone here give me a hand with forwarding snmp traps? I'm looking at Zenoss and I
want to see how it handles snmp traps. We currently have snmp traps getting sent to two
servers. One of them is basically ignoring the traps, but I can't just change the ip address (to
give to Zenoss) because of other things the host is doing.
So instead I'd like to simply forward the snmp traps

Xen SNMP
Hello all,
Does anyone know if it exists a xen specific SNMP subagent ?
My need is to collect through SNMP, from a dom0, informations related to
running domUs and more generally all xen related stuff, for use with Cacti
and more.
Thanks for answers.
Alain Barthe.
