SIP / STUN / Network - Help!!
Hi Everyone. I'm in a quandry & don't know which way to go. - Obviously I'm an Asterisk newbie although I've been watching this list for over 2 years now. I've got an Asterisk box (actually, it's an AsteriskNOW box) up and running here at home. - It's on my home LAN - NAT'ed behind my LinkSys router. - On the same LAN I've got a Cisco 7940, 7960, and

This mailing list is being spam filtered on my site.
Sorry if this not the right place to post this.... BUT... Since May 31st, ALL of these user list messages have been filtered by "spamassassin" running on my Linux box. - Claim to be listed in "Bayes" as spam. - Have no clue why this is happening. Luckily, "spamassassin" sent the messages to the "probably-spam" folder on the Linux box & I was able to

MOH question w/Cisco 79xx phones
Hi Everyone.... Got a newbie type question regarding MOH & Cisco phones. I'm still new to Asterisk (very new in fact) & built up a AsteriskNOW box just to get something going. My simple test system has just 3 Cisco phones a 7905, 7940 & 7960. - Everything's running SIP. The 3 phones can call each other fine. - Can even leave (and retreive) voicemail messages. - No problems.

Help! - Double NAT issue
Hi folks. Please don't flame me but I've been googling around for days, read a tremendous amount, tried everything, and still no go. This is most definitely a typical newbie question. - I sure hope there's somebody(s) out there who'll humble themselves to help me out. I've set up an 'out of the box' basic Asterisk server running on Slackware Linux. - It basically

POTS - Incoming Voice or Fax - How to tell?
Hi Folks - This may sound weird - but here goes: I live in Japan and on my home POTS line I have a Fax/Phone machine. If I receive a fax, the thing automatically switches to 'fax mode' and prints the fax. If the call is a 'voice call', it sits there & rings until answered. The above is very reliable and works okay. Of course signalling differs in each country (and even by

cleaning up after example()
Dear R-help, I find the example() function is extremely useful in many ways. However, there's a minor inconvenience: for long examples, it leaves lots of objects in the workspace. While it's sometimes useful to have the objects around for further exploration, other times they just add to the clutter. Does anyone have a good way of cleaning up afterward? If not, would R core consider

TFTP - Good or Bad?
Hi Guys/Gals - I don't post here often but I read with interest all the postings. - I've been on a lot of mailing lists, but this one is by far the most interesting. I've been doing a lot of work with 'tftp' loading Cisco 79xx phones with firmware, configs. for asterisk, etc. And I see where a lot of folks have trouble with 'tftp', use alternate port numbers

Fwd: [networkupstools/nut] Hide 'Init SSL without certificate database' message for upsc (PR #1662)
Hello all, Here's a PR I want to ask community about: should NUT clients like upsc report (log!) or hide the infamous 'Init SSL without certificate database' message? On one hand, it is a reminder that the setup is insecure (plaintext protocol, might be in an externally provided tunnel but we don't know that). On another, it is fairly annoying and if it does clutter

[Off topic] sending mail from Comcast was: Sendmail not working
OK, I've fired up a new VM, new CentOS 7 install, now I get this: # rpm -qf `which sendmail` postfix-2.10.1-7.el7.x86_64 Can you point me to how to set this up properly? Note that I won the psalm19pix.com domain, it's hosted at fastmail.com, and as far as I know requires SSL. Can I setup sendmail to use this as it's SMPT connection? Thanks again... Test message, please ignore
This is a test of the mailing list. Apologies for the inconvenience, but some scumbag has sent spam email, forging my domains as the sender addresses. I must test that my mitigation for the flood of bounce messages and complaints doesn't break the list. -d
