This mailing list is being spam filtered on my site.
Sorry if this not the right place to post this.... BUT... Since May 31st, ALL of these user list messages have been filtered by "spamassassin" running on my Linux box. - Claim to be listed in "Bayes" as spam. - Have no clue why this is happening. Luckily, "spamassassin" sent the messages to the "probably-spam" folder on the Linux box & I was able to

TFTP - Good or Bad?
Hi Guys/Gals - I don't post here often but I read with interest all the postings. - I've been on a lot of mailing lists, but this one is by far the most interesting. I've been doing a lot of work with 'tftp' loading Cisco 79xx phones with firmware, configs. for asterisk, etc. And I see where a lot of folks have trouble with 'tftp', use alternate port numbers

Remote Connection to Asterisk
Hello all - This is basically an updated re-posting of one I've posted a few days ago. Thanks to the kind help provided but I still can't make it work. But I'm moving a little further down the line (thanks to you folks). Basically, I've got an Asterisk server in a LAB ENVIRONMENT on my home LAN. The server has a Wildcard TDM400 installed but has no POTs lines/phones connected.

X100P Clone not picking up incoming calls. [POTS]
Hello All, I have this strange problem, I can dial out with my sip phone and it seems to work relatively well, but when I call in, the line just rings and rings, I get no indication in asterisk that it's detecting an incoming call. The strange thing is that in ztmonitor 1 -vv the rx volume goes from around 99% when the line is idle to 0% as soon as the line starts ringing. I'm located

fax over IP - http/ftp-provisioning - intercom
Dear members of the list, a customer of mine has some questions and I would like to pose some of them further to you guys. What is the situation with Asterisk and fax over IP ? Can Asterisk receive a fax over a POTS or ISDN line ?? Do I then need a Digium TDM-card and an FXO-module or a T38-gateway ? What phones should I use to automatically configure them from a central place via HTTP or FTP ?

Incoming Voice/Fax Discrimination?
I'm evaluating * to replace the crap set of peered "smart" phones we have now in our small office, but I haven't been able to find out about this anywhere yet: I need to know if * can discriminate _incoming_ FAX calls on a voice line and route them to a specific extension? We have a little standalone box to do this now, but only for one line, and if that line is busy---we

SIP / STUN / Network - Help!!
Hi Everyone. I'm in a quandry & don't know which way to go. - Obviously I'm an Asterisk newbie although I've been watching this list for over 2 years now. I've got an Asterisk box (actually, it's an AsteriskNOW box) up and running here at home. - It's on my home LAN - NAT'ed behind my LinkSys router. - On the same LAN I've got a Cisco 7940, 7960, and

Is Answer really needed
Hi All my incoming dial plans start of with an Answer which I now know starts the billing time. Some of the dialplans then get forwarded out to POTS via a carrier and so the actual amount of time that should be billed is being distorted. I've done a few tests this morning and found that if I don't start with an answer then the billsec of my forwarded call is actually the length of

[IAX] Recommended soft- and hardphones?
Hello Since SIP/RTP is a pain to use with road warriors who need to connect from any location over the Internet, I'd like to get them some IAX phones instead. For those of you using this protocol instead of SIP, what would you recommend as IAX hardphones and Windows (and ideally Mac) softphones? Thank you.

Folks A have a PCIe modem (Conexant ChipSet, PCI id = 14f1:2f83. It interfaces to my land-line (POTS) telephone line in the United States. On Windows, I had a good answering machine package (Ventafax) that reported CallerID, recorded messages, sent/received fax, and had a scripting language that let me say "To leave a message for Alice, press 1; to leave a message for Bob, press

ALL incoming Zap channel calls are getting picked up as FAX calls!
All, I upgraded my asterisk setup from CVS on or about 12/15. Suddenly, *all* of my incoming calls are coming up as FAXes. I had to disable my fax extension because every call to my POTS line was getting redirected to my FAX machine. After removing the FAX extension, if I call my POTS line from my cell phone, I get the following: *CLI> -- Starting simple switch on 'Zap/1-1'

POTS interfacing recommendation
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello there, I'm drawing up a scheme to manage our company calls and would like to implement it with Asterisk. In order to get moving quickly I'd like some recommendations on what hardware to buy so I can start tinkering. Initially we'd like to be able to support one line to accept incoming calls, and another one for forwarding such

Bunch of set-up/usage questions (SLA, MWI, SMS proxy's, crypto, Fax, etc)
Howdy, Excuse the neophyte questions... I was wondering: (1) what's involved in setting up a call with encrypted media (I'm on a cable network and don't want my calls snooped); (2) is there a cheat-sheet for configuring Sipura handsets/hardphones like the SPA-942, and in particular for message-waiting indicator and shared-line appearances? (3) my PSTN service provider that I
