Can SAMBA work with 2008 R2 Read Only Domain controller
Hello, ? We are planing to utilize Microsoft 2008 R2 Read Only Domain controller, and deploy RODC's in branches. ? If I would like to have SAMBA servers in those branches, will I be able to add them to the domain (using "net ads join") and work with them, when using the RODC's as domain controllers configured in my smb.conf & krb5.conf? ? I have looked around and did not

Hi all, We have a client that needs to setup about 80 desk phones (about 50 in one location and about another 30 in 5 different locations). Which brand/model would you recommend. We were personally thinking in recommending either Cisco, Aastra, Polycom, or Snom, for we've heard great things about them. However, having no real experience with them makes it hard in recommending one to

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc 4.0 for Linux@x86
Hi! Apparently there are no precompiled binaries for llvm-gcc 4.0 for Linux. I've tried downloading the sources and building according to http://llvm.org/docs/CFEBuildInstrs.html (except I'm not an elite gcc hacker). I tried following the guidelines and got what looks like a gcc for x86 with no traces of LLVM. I tried passing --enable-llvm with various llvm root pathnames and got ICEs.

POS Terminals
Hello List - I've got a question regarding POS terminal transactions (credit card machines, ATM, etc...). Currently we setup customers in the following manner: Customer Location --> Data T1 --> DataCenter -> PSTN Termination We are currently using Mediatrix gear for fax transmissions from the customer location, but they don't seem to handle POS modem sales very well. Does

A unique 'click to call' project - Could use some advice
Hello List, I work for an IP communication provider in upstate NY as the engineer assisting our technical support team. We provide a number of different Telco systems to residential subscribers; and in an effort to more effectively trouble shoot termination problems I came up with the idea of creating a click to call system that will allow our agents to effortlessly place test calls. Contradictory results between different heteroskedasticity tests
Hi all, I'm getting contradictory results from bptest and ncvTest on a model calculated by GLS as: olslm = lm(log(rr)~log(aloi)*reg*inv, data) varlm = lm(I(residuals(olslm)^2)~log(aloi)*reg*inv, data) glslm = lm(log(rr)~log(aloi)*reg*inv, data, weights=1/fitted(varlm)) Testing both olslm and glslm with both ncvTest and bptest gives: > ncvTest(olslm) Non-constant Variance Score Test

Multiple queue_log files based on queue - is it possible??
Hello List, Question: Has anyone been able to create multiple queue_log files in /var/log/asterisk for multiple queues? We are designing a multi-tenant system and separating the log files would be useful, instead of dropping all queue actions into one file. Is it possible this is a user configurable option I am missing? Cheers, -- ------ Christopher T Aloi ------

How to best manage my dial plans as the continue to grow, and grow, and grow....
Hello List - I've been slowing growing my extensions.conf file and have been wondering how everyone manages their systems. I currently have my main extensions.conf where I reference my sub extensions (for tenants or customers) files using the include statements and define my global variables. Today while watching the asterisk console I noticed a call from a voicemail user bounced into

"this" variables being overridden?
Hi I encountered this problem a few times in the past, but only now it is consistent enough so I can write this email. In short, the problem is that after I copy some structure from the profiled program to the dtrace space, and set a "this-dataP" variable to point to the local copy, after a while some of the fields of the local structure are overridden with junk values. Billing Software
We are looking for an offline billing solution. We have a couple of particular requirements: 1) Since it's offline, we need to be able to import the CDR. 2) A way to support account credits based on referrals. Meaning, that if a member refers a new account, that member would get a free month of service, or similar type credits. 3) Generate invoices in either HTML or PDF format so they can be

A unique 'click to call' project - Could usesome advice
Colin, Thanks for your assistance. Reading over your advice I seem to still be a bit confused. My agents are not on the Asterisk server; it appears in your advice that my the call will travel this path: WWW interface --> agent enters their DID, platform to use, and termination DID --> AST calls agent --> Agent calls termination DID If my agents are not on the Asterisk server

Runtime error 53: File not found
Wine on Fedora 12 with all updates. Installed Tora Codes 2000 from setup.exe OK. When I start this program, I receive "Runtime error 53: File not found". There is no indication of what is missing. I suspect that some of the runtime is missing but I don't know what to install to correct this. I can tell you that this runs under 2000 and was released before xp was available. Thanks

[LLVMdev] #line directives in llvm-gcc
Hi! Apparently llvm-gcc ignores #line directives in source files when generating debug information. When I compile this: //test int f(int a) { #line 1 "someplace" return a*a; } //end with `llvm -g -S lines.c`, `someplace' is not mentioned in lines.s. It also looks like functions #included from header files get attributed to the #including file (albeit at the right line number).

Proper use of the Local channel
Is there any documentation you guys can point us to in order to learn more about the proper use of the Local channel? We don't currently use it. However, while evaluating other people's billing and management systems for Asterisk, we noticed they make extensive use of it. Thanks, Daniel
