Asterisk system for church call center
I have been asked by my church to recommend a VoIP system which can do
the following.
They do internet radio shows which are sometimes broadcast on radio.
They are looking for a system which does the following for about 5
agents, exactly as they have described it.
1. Take incoming calls
2. Put them on hold if there is no one to handle the call immediately,
or transfer them to an available

Would anyone have an idea on how I would be able to take the mic in on
the computer and put it as the "talking party" for a conference room.
I would then be able to set up a "listen only" profile for others to get
in on.
Reason for doing this is for 'shut-in's' for my Church.

[Flac-users] FLAC/LPAC/Bzip2 better for archival?
Hi. I am a student with limited funds and storage space on my linux box. So I am trying to decide what audio compression scheme to use for my collection of audio tapes (recordings of one speaker, preaching in an church auditorium, recorded with low-grade mics and tape decks) converted to digital audio (16bit, stereo, WAV, 44100Hz). Is FLAC, LPAC, or a standard data compression format better for

Backup of large filesystems >500GB
I've a small system that I use to support a number of churches. I
provide web and email for them. My current server is running CentOS 6.3
with paired 1TB drives in a RAID1 configuration. It works well. One
filesystem is very large, >500GB, and contains numerous large files:
SQL, docs, church libraries in ebook and digital form, plus stored
videos of church services.
My problem is that

More basic equivalent of TukeyHSD
This is a simple question, but I'm going on the supposition that the
only stupid question is the one not asked.
1. I have many sets of 5 proportions that are different from each
other (prop.test), and want to know which proportions are different
from each other. In other words, I want the equivalent of Tukey's HSD
test, but for proportions rather than anova.

Confbridge
To all:
No matter what I try, I cannot get the system to wait for the admin to join. It just dumps users into the bridge directly.
I do not have a pin for users, does that matter?
What am I missing?
Another issue the absolute timeout is not working ? ... have recordings that last for over 24 hours... and this should not happen...
All calls should hangup after 4 ?
Any ideas ?

Problems with the rsync command line syntax for multiple files
I feel completely stupid for asking this question, but I have an
essential problem of getting the syntax right for synchronizing
multiple files. I am trying to use rsync to synchronize files
generated in one directory with our public directory our web server.
We have a number of files with the extension html so I have tried the
following command line:

Sound stopped working from internal speaker in CentOS 7.2 (intel-hda) and is still broken.
This message is long overdue. I've commented on similar issues when other
people have mentioned similar items, but I am finally taking the time to
to ask this question.
Did anyone else have the sound from their internal speaker stop working
with the release of CentOS 7.2?
I have tested this with multiple machines with the same card and the same
issue.
The card is identified as:

Speaker/Language-etc dependency of encoded data
Hello,
I noticed that for one specific Speaker, there are codebook entries in
all codebooks, that "fit" the speaker.
So if one had a look at a histogram of the used codebook line numbers
for one speaker, the histograms would look very much the same for
different speech samples (of course, the speech samples should be long
enough, more than a minute of speech ought to be sufficient).

Will Asterisk do well in this application?
I have a customer looking for an automated way to provide his customers
information.
He found some windows software called Active Call Center - but I believe
that he did the 40 day trial and it crashed his windows machine to much.
So he wants something that can do a similar task running on linux.
The Users expierience should go something like this

CDR with conference asterisk 12
Hello,
Anyone see this issue, I have a conference bridge setup for a church with a Barix unit that streams audio into the bridge.
The bridge is started by calling in to a number that executes a call file and the system calls the Barix unit starting the broadcast.
Users then call in and can listen to the sermons live. The system works flawless with 1 issue I can't get accurate cdr's.

Termination Provider
I've been looking for a good iax or sip <==> ptsn provider. Someone
with very low cost usa calling and can offer incoming ptsn connections
in most markets. The only decent providers I could find were
iconnecthere and nufone. Has anyone found someone that really stood
out?

macaddress blacklist problem
I helped set up a firewall at my brother''s church and we are running
shorewall 1.4.6b on a redhat 9 box. Works well.

[root@fumcbafw shorewall]# iptables --version
iptables v1.2.7a
The box also serves as a dhcp server for the church offices and there is
one box that apparently still has the old firewall config (zone alarm)

What Windows apps stand in the way of switching to Linux at your shop?
http://kegel.com/wine/qa/#app is a list of "must-have"
Windows applications for various vertical markets
(at the moment, just k12 schools and churches).
These are the Windows apps that really keep a school,
church, or other organization from switching to Linux.
I'm hoping that this list will help focus Wine QA on
those key Windows apps, and thereby increase the
number of groups who
