pxelinux -> pxeboot load?
Hi all,
I've searched the depths of the resources on the internet; however
I'm having trouble deploying a pxeboot solution via pxelinux. So far
what I have successfully implemented in my infrastructure is a
successful pxeboot setup for FreeBSD ( without the use of pxelinux ).
I'd ultimately like to have a solution that will allow me to choose a
network install of various Unix-like

CentOS 5: comment swap in fstab
I'm not sure what gave me this idea, but I decided
to comment out the swap partition in /etc/fstab
and reboot my laptop. I did not run swapoff directly at
any time.
I'm running more things now than I would ever dream of
to hammer my 500MB of memory, but I still notice NO
slowdown. This is the best desktop experience I've
ever had for any OS on any hardware!
Here's the first 12

Dial plan inquiry using GotoIf()
Hi all,
I'm looking for some rudimentary insight on GotoIf() which seems to be
failing on me in my dial plan. All I basically wish to do is block a
particular caller. Sounds easy enough, but my ternary operator/plan
currently is not properly being implemented. Can anyone spot where I'm
being a momo?
All extensions get forwarded to the following macro:

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,
I have a 6.3 guest running on a 6.3 host and the output from top seems
strange to me. At least I did not expect this.
While in the guest on core is busy with i/o the host seems idle.
Does anyone know why it is this way?
See the output from top below, first the one from guest, then host.

Problem After adding Bricks
Hello, I have run into some performance issues after adding bricks to
a 3.3.1 volume. Basically I am seeing very high CPU usage and
extremely degraded performance. I started a re-balance but stopped it
after a couple days. The logs have a lot of entries for split-brain as
well as "Non Blocking entrylks failed for". For some of the
directories on the client doing an ls will show multiple

question about top output
hi all,
below is the output of top off a machine i have, sorted by CPU utilization.
my question is, how can all 8 CPUs say they're pegged at 100% user utilization, when there are just these 8 processes saying they're using 25% of a CPU each, and no other processes showing up taking any resources? i have run this test on other machines and they act as expected. i found this b/c this

Asterisk 1.4.2 + Cisco 7960G not registering
Hi all,
I've recently upgraded to Asterisk 1.4.2, coming from 1.2.14. Using my
existing Cisco 7960G handset(s). I've tried multiple installs of
asterisk 1.4.2 with multiple handsets and SIP will not authorize my
phone. I'll include some verbose log messages below to show a VALID
registration and one where I'm having difficulty registering the phone.
Thanks to anyone who can lend

vm running slowly in powerful host
Hi,
i have a vm which has a poor performance.
E.g. top needs seconds to refresh its output on the console. Same with netstat.
The guest is hosting a MySQL DB with a webfrontend, its response is poor too.
I'm looking for the culprit.
Following top in the guest i get these hints:
Memory is free enough, system is not swapping.
System has 8GB RAM and two cpu's.

qqplot for count data
Dear list,
I just tried to do the same thing, and did not find anything on a
weighted qqplot. My weights are actually counts (positive integers).
Here is a modification of qqplot, following Duncan Murdoch's
suggestion. Any feedback would be welcome!
Thanks,
Jean-Christophe

Samba 4.3.x high CPU load
Hi there,
I have a multi DC global setup. 9 x Ubuntu 14.04.3 DC's in multiple Sites.
This has been working nicely for some time however recently the FSMO holder

Failure permission in Sysvol and GPO
Dear,
I'm having trouble handling GPO's my DC.
Environment:
Samba 4.4.5, primary and secondary DC.
I am not allowed to edit the GPO's.
The problem occurred after I edit the Default GPO in the primary DC, and then run the rsync to synchronize between the DC's.
The following errors arise when squeegee commands:
Note: I hid the actual domain name.

R-alpha: Hypergeometric Distribution
A cut and paste typo has crept in and is rendering all values returned
for the hypergeometric distribution incorrect. The problem is in

a = REAL(sa);
b = REAL(sb);
c = REAL(sc);

Time arithmetic
I am a bit worried I am reinventing the wheel. Isn't there a calendar
system in R?
I have written a function to add months to a date and return the number of
days resulting. I am newish to R so I am hoping there is a package that
can do this sort of date arithmetic for me...
Worik
DaysInMonths <- function(s,d){
## Days in d months from s
sdate <- MSTD(s)
## Get day, month
