Incorrect voice mail format on transfer
Hello, all. I'm running Asterisk 1.6.1.6 on CentOS 5.3 in a
multi-tenant environment with IMAP voice mail storage on Zimbra. One of
our clients is having a problem when transferring voice mails from one
mailbox to another (option 8 in the standard voice application menu)
using their Snom 320 and 360 phones.
The end results is the final recipient cannot listen to the voicemail.

Voice mail does not contain a time?
Hello,
When a voice message is saved and e-mailed as a wav, the total time of the
voice mail does not show up in, e.g., windows media player, why is this?
I have only used wav49/wav:

Some feedback and issues on using chan_bluetooth
I have a Motorola Razr successfully connected to asterisk using a
bluetooth dongle and chan_bluetooth. Here's some issues I've run
across:
- You have to ignore the instructions in bluetooth.conf, saying to run
"sdptool search --bdaddr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx 0x111F" to determine the
correct channel to use for your phone. My phone reported Channel 7,

DTMF not working on overseas cellphone calls
I thought I sent this earlier this week, but I didn't see it. If I
missed it, I apologize for the resend.
We are running asterisk 1.2.2 with a TDM04B connected to PSTN lines. On
incoming calls from cellphones located overseas, DTMF is not recognized
- we have many single-digit choices in our menu so the problem isn't
that some digits aren't working, it's not listening at

Can GPRS steal bandwidth from voice?
Hello everyone,
I am a newbie to this, and if you know of an informative URL that has
relevant information, please point me to it.
Suppose a cellular subscriber gets a PocketPC (Windows Mobile 2003 Phone
Edition), and subscribes to a voice + Internet plan. He then decides to
use a proprietary VoIP application using the Internet plan. He is not
using the voice part of his plan; he is channeling

Voice Mail Notification
Hi,
Here's the deal. When someone leaves me a voicemail message I want Asterisk to call me on my cellphone by dialing my cellphone number and tell me I have a message. Is this possible? Can anyone cite examples? Most commercial voicemail systems produced in the last 10 years can do this. Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Mike

Asterisk forwarding confirmation?
Hi; I've been using Asterisk for a few months now, and I have run into
an interesting issue that I thought someone else in the community may
have run into:
I have an Asterisk install set up to receive helpdesk calls, route
them to several IAX extensions and an extension which is simply a
forwarded call over the POTS to a cellphone, so that if no one is
logged into their IAX extensions for

DTMF not recognized on overseas call from cellphone
We have PSTN lines connected to FXO lines of a TDM400B. I just got a
complaint that overseas callers who are using cellphones sometimes find
that DTMF digits aren't working - they press digits and the menu goes on
as if they hadn't pressed anything. Since it sometimes works, and other
IVRs work over the same cellphones, it's not that the cellphone isn't
sending the digits.

re: how to set the voice message as email attachment ?
Hi there,
I am using redhat 9.0 with asterisk 1.0.7.
I created an user and was be able to leave voice messages to that user
and retrieve the voice message. I looked the wiki and setup the voice
message as the email attachment. However, I have never received email with
the voice attachment. Here is the setting for voicemail.conf:

OT: Quad-band cellphones with wifi & stablesipsupport
Its not quad band and in my opinion doesn't perform well enough to be
used for anything but basic email and phone calls. This phone, even on
the newest version of firmware (Sprint) hangs when syncing with exchange
to the point where you miss calls even though you tried to answer them.
If you turn on wifi or Bluetooth, it simply compounds the problems. It
will also require (literally) a

re: how to set the voice message as
Hi there,
Sorry for the late reply. I had too many emails in my mailbox to clean up.
Anyway, I found out the problem is the sendmail in Linux did not work and
the voicemail.conf in our asterisk is ok. There is another issue for email
notification: some email servers rejects the email from asterisk. My
engineer added Asterisk IP into the DNS to slove the email rejection issue.
Thanks for

Linux Voice Mail Application??
Does anyone on this list know of any Linux based apps that will work with
Dialogic or Brooktrout that provides voice-mail/Autoattendant only?? It
seems that Panasonic, Avaya, and Mitel all use Unix/linux based OS on their
firmware for their proprietary voice mails.
My wish list would be;
A software that provides all of the drivers for a dialogic or brooktrout

Blank Voicemails/Vonage Problem
Regarding this message, I've actually been told one caller who has
consistently had this problem was using Vonage, but calling from his
Verizon line, it worked. This skewed my survey.
Therefore I do believe it's the same callers having the issue, and in
which case, I think Vonage is to blame.

Using Speex with Cellphone audio
Has anyone had any experience with applying Speex on cellphone audio?
If so, I have a few questions:
* How has Speex performed with the audio, e.g., amount of
loss/intelligibility?
* Since cellphones use the typical POTS sampling of 8Kbps, would
it help to use a multiple (16,32Kbps) or fractional (12,18,24Kbps)
resampling?
* At what sampling rate do you think a resampling of 8Kbps would
result in

Hello, list.
I've set up an outbound alerting system to play a recording when systems go
down, etc. and I'm noticing that cellphones tend to answer() and then start
ringing the actual handset. So far, I've verified this behavior with
Verizon, T-Mobile, and Google Voice (the last produces a SERIOUS delta
between bogus answer and actual answer).
Has anyone figured out how to detect
