RedFone foneBRIDGE2 2e1 - anyone used it oranother TDMoE bridge?
For high-availability Asterisk when using PRI Lines, you might also want
to check out our product (FSV-4PFS). It's available at

Also to add to the last post does this device have hardware echo cancelation?
if it does it could be a great replacement, if not may not be what I'd
really want to use.
Thanks,
tom

Redundancy / Failover
I've been evaluating Asterisk for a while, and things seem to be
going very well. The issue of redundancy and automatic fail-over is
now on my mind. I searched the archives and googled for solutions,
but didn't really come up with much.
We'll be using queues (modified), which precludes some of the
standard redundancy solutions, since the queue needs to know all the

Where to download Junghanns ISDNguard software?
Hi list,
I recently purchased an ISDNguard from Junghanns. It came with no
software and there is no sign on their website or in any of their
documentation where to download it. I have looked in
http://www.junghanns.net/downloads/ and there is no sign of it there
either. The only thing remotly close ther is
isdnguard-asterisk-1.2.13.patch. Their documentation refers to
/usr/sbin/ISDNguard. Where

TE410P alarms stay RED with 1.4.22
Hi,
I tried "upgrading" from debian's 1.4.21.2 package to vanilla 1.4.22 but
then my TE410P alarms stay RED and no zap channels can be created, even
if they are correctly listed by "zap show channels". I tried adding
"dahdichanname = no" to asterisk.conf's [options] to no effect.
Going back to 1.4.21.2 brings my alarms back to OK.
This is with zaptel

[PATCH 0/3] supermin: add --include-packagelist
Hi,
to ease debugging issues with appliances (e.g. when used in libguestfs),
using --include-packagelist will add a file containing the list of all
the packages used.
Thanks,
Pino Toscano (3):

chroot: factor out file copy code

Ordering BRI From AT&T
Hello everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have a business customer in
the U.S. (Michigan, AT&T Territory).
I need to get 4 trunks into an asterisk Box. My intention is to use an
Eicon Diva Server card with 2 BRI Circuits. The reason for this is that
the business needs DID's on the trunks (20 of them). A full or fractional
PRI is overboard for them, as they will

Question about ISDNguard
Hi,
1. How have you connected your ISDNGuard (see
http://www.junghanns.net/en/ISDNguard_produkt.html) box to your server ?
Datasheet mentions RS232 requirement so I'm wondering if a USB-serial cord
could fulfill this requirement ?
2. How does it go back into standard mode from failover mode ?

Failover Device?
First,
Something seems to be wrong with the list. I'm not the only person
who has expressed seeing their messages either arrive late, or not at
all.
With that out of the way..
Is anyone aware of any type of failover device for PRI on asterisk?
I've found the ISDNGuard, however it is currently not made in the
U.S., nor does it run on U.S. power.
Is anyone aware of a device that will

$70 USD bounty for simple Junghanns ISDNguard shell script
Hi all,
I recently purchased a Junghanns ISDNguard and to my horror I found out:
- Junghanns technical support is non-existant
- I can't use it without recompiling Asterisk with res_watchdog
My situation:
- Recompiling Asterisk with thrid party code is not an option us
- We only need it for manual failover - don't require all the fancy
monitoring stuff
I need a simple shell script

Crash related to "asterisk -rx" ?
Hi list,
Last Friday, an Asterisk server became unresponsive after ~8,5 months of
smooth operation (~320000 calls). Server did reply to pings, but no ssh,
no more console login. Also Asterisk no longer took calls, but ISDNguard
watchdog was still alive. Looking at the logs after reboot, I could not
find anything significant, except in a file created by the following
command via a cron job:

Possible to light up a LED on Snom phones?
Hi everybody!
I've setup my dialplan so that if an extension dials *21*, that
extension is added/removed as a queue member to a queue. (State toggled).
But it would be great to get an "optical feedback" of that phone's state
regarding the queue membership.
Does someone know if it is possible to light up a LED under this szenario?
Many thanks!

Anybody using TE410P on BT ISDN with DAHDI?
Is anybody else using the following combination:
* a TE410P card (wct4xxp driver)
* a BT ISDN connection
* DAHDI 2.3.0.1
* Asterisk 1.6.2.9
I'm trying to configure a new box to replace a legacy system (same hardware;
some old version of Asterisk with Zaptel; works lovely but hopelessly
out-of-date) and not having much joy. Specifically, I couldn't get it to

asterisk on mini-itx
Hello,
I'm trying to put together a low cost - low powers PBX appliance for several
customers. I have purchased a couple of the soekris net4801 boards and have
asterisk up and running on them fine but they just don't quite cut it in the
processing power department. I've been able to get about 10 simultaneous SIP
calls with simple ulaw (no encoding decoding). While this might be OK for

"o" bty with different axes
Is it possible to create plot bty=o with different scale of left- and
right x-axis? In my documents, by typesetting, bty=u looks disruptively.
At 2nd: how to frame the whole box (including title and axes labels) and
resize to landscape-oriented rectangle?

PRI Bridging and Recording
Hi All
Does anyone have any ideas around what processing power is needed when
bridging PRI channels and recording?
I am not sure how the bridging takes place with and without recording?
I basically have a situation like this:
Telko <----> Asterisk <-----> Legacy PBX
Where the lines are PRI's between Telko and Asterisk and Asterisk and
the Legacy PBX.
At what level does

New version of pmg -- Poor Man's GUI
For those who are interested,
I've finished release of 0.4 of pmg and have placed it on my website
at http://www.math.csi.cuny.edu/Statistics/R/pmg.
The pmg package provides some GUI elements using the RGtk package and
friends: RGtk, OOP, RGtkExtra, RGtkHTML, RGdkPixbuf, RGtkViewers and
REventLoop from www.omegahat.org and gtkDevice from CRAN. (These
require a form of UNIX such as linux, OS

It turns out that my web host doesn't allow direct links. Try going to

Poor-man's paging through multiple phones?
We're mostly Cisco CallManager with some SIP and Asterisk.
I want someone at one of our locations to be able to dial and number
and have Asterisk simultaneously dial several Call-Manager extensions
which are set to auto-answer and talk into the phone creating a sort
of paging system.
We have informacast, but it is too cumbersome for the users.
I know Asterisk can ring several phones at the

Summary of Suggestions for poor man's parallel processing
Thanks to Luke Tierney, Agustin Lobo, Stephen Eglen, A.J. Rossini, Simon Wood
and Timothy H. Keitt for responding to my question about poor man's parallel
processing. Much of the substantive material was cc'ed to r-help already, but
my take is as follows.
1) Currently, there is nothing "simple" for solving my problem.
2) I thought that Timothy Keitt's description of the use
