Voicemail to Text Transcription(was: Re: [asterisk-dev] Voicemail to text translation)
(This subthread is more appropriate to -users than to -dev, so it is
crossposted only to mark its transition. Please reply on the -user list
only.)
What are the cheapest prices for (humans) transcribing voicemail to
text as a service? The absolute cheapest, regardless of (known) quality
- the quality only has to compete with (cheaper) automated
transcription, which is abysmal quality.

how to know when files have finished ftping? -- antair restored
Here's a thought: what about doing an lsof? If a file is still being written by ftpd it should be open for writing.

dual boot box: winxp & centos 5: impossible to restorewinxp? -- antair restored
Have you disconnected all your usb hardware before trying the repair? I've repaired my box more times than I can count and the only time I've seen lots of hdd activity is when I had some weird hardware attached.

How to use google voice for voicemail transcription
No, I don't know how to do this. Does anybody?
I'd like to take a voicemail file from asterisk (*.wav, *.gsm, *.mp3 ?)
and send it to googlevoice as a voicemail, then get the transcription
over gmail.
I know about pygooglevoice (is it still maintained?). But I can't figure
out how to dial gv and leave a message (robo dial??) from a system command.
This would allow me to get

how to cat / grep from dbox files
Dear List members
I am new to dovecot and am looking for a solution. I have googled as
much as I could, but most likely my search criteria was wrong, and hence
asking here.
I am familiar with maildir format, and could easily do cat / grep / sed
on those files to extract data. The server I am looking at now uses dbox
format, which seems to store data in a different way. just to give you

Asterisk on 64 bit... and testing e164.org's stuff
works, but there are some issues.
I've had asterisk up and running on a suse 9.0 beta 7 x86_64 for about
two weeks now.
I used then-current cvs, and the compile went smoothly with only a dozen
complaints about 64 bit casting of pointer types.
The good news : Latency is effectively non-existent (especially when
compared to the lame c3 itx box I normally use), and asterisk has not

hot keys
Hello.
One thing I have been running under Wine is something called "Express
Scribe", which is rather good gratis software for transcribing audio
material. Up through 0.9.3, the program runs nicely but at install
there are error messages about not being able to install hot keys.
Probably this isn't surprising, so what I am really looking for is
advice on how to work around it.

[LLVMdev] Code generation issues
Hi,
Today I managed to link ioquake3, but generating a binary does not
work yet.
1) On OSX, I get:
Error: Code generator does not support intrinsic function
'llvm.ppc.altivec.lvsl'!
when I do: llc file.bc -march=c -o file.c
2) On Linux X86, llc does not give any problem, but I get this while
compiling the generated .c file:
error: unknown register name 'S' in

Hi list,
I had setup my xen box with bond in active-backup mode.
I had install open-iscsi as initiator to attach an external iscsi san

When i run this command:
#iscsiadm -m node -T iqn.2008-03.local.foo:iSCSI.test.disk1 -l
I retrive, after some seconds, this error

The C backend doesn't support all target-specific intrinsics.

Symbian port
Hi Ashhar,
could you please create a patch (in `diff -u` format) that fixes the
build on symbian (preferably without breaking any other platforms ;-)
and send it to the list?
Even better, if you are actively maintaining code that uses speex on
symbian, perhaps you could be given an svn account to check the changes
in directly (if Jean-Marc is happy with that).
Either way, it's best if you

ncRNAs and chromatin
Jenner lab, University College London
Our laboratory uses genomics and biochemical techniques to identify how
transcription factors, chromatin modifiers and non-coding RNAs act to
regulate cell differentiation. Our research has led to the
characterisation of a class of short RNAs transcribed from polycomb

This looks interesting to tie into asterisk's jb and plc code as well.
