Receptionist
Hi, Quick question. With an old phone system a receptionist receiving a call has 1 button to push to transfer calls to a specific extension, with Asterisk, a receptionist would actually put the caller on hold, pick up another line, call the extension, ask if the person is available, hang up pick up the caller again and transfer. To me it's seems a long way to simply do a receptionist

Attribute Length Error when Trying plm Regression
Hello, I am trying to run a fixed effects panel regression on data containing 5 columns and 1,494 rows. I read the data in as follows: >drugsXX<-read.csv(file="C:\\Folder\\vX.X\\Drugs\\drugsXX_panel.csv", head=TRUE, sep=",") Verified it read in correctly and had a good data.frame: >dim(drugsXX) [1] 1494 5 >drugs XX produce expected data with correct column

Caller ID (name) - where does it come from?
Hi Folks, having an issue with outbound calls through a VOIP provider. Calls get sent out with the CallerID(number), but where does callerID(name) come from? Apparently not from provider, as we are seeing different (sometime missing) names on inbound calls, different than what we have configured. Apparently this comes from some telco database somewhere? Numbers were ported from a wired-telco.

smbpasswd question
Do you have to enable encrypted passwords for smbpasswd to work? I have yet to enable encryption because I wanted to test everything first, but have enabled 'update encrypted = Yes' so that this will update the smbpasswd file. I also have 'unix password sync = Yes'. However, I cannot get smbpasswd to change the passwords, either by user or root. Any suggestions? Carey

[PATCH] [v4] nouveau: add command-line GSP-RM registry support
Add the NVreg_RegistryDwords command line parameter, which allows specifying additional registry keys to be sent to GSP-RM. This allows additional configuration, debugging, and experimentation with GSP-RM, which uses these keys to alter its behavior. Note that these keys are passed as-is to GSP-RM, and Nouveau does not parse them. This is in contrast to the Nvidia driver, which may parse some

Re-parking (or transfer) a parked call
How do you transfer or re-park a call that's been picked up from a parking lot? I don't see any options for specifying the transfer options on the parked call, so that you could transfer or repark it. -- Barry D. Polycom Phones start to break up after being up a LONG time
Has anyone else encountered this? I have a fairly large installation (~50 phones, almost all Polycom 501's and a handful of 601's. We're running into a number of phones on which the outbound voice (Polycom phone user doesn't hear any problems, but the other end does) is breaking up occasionally -- enough to be noticeable and make you say "what?". In each case, rebooting

[PATCH][next] nouveau/gsp: replace zero-length array with flex-array member and use __counted_by
Fake flexible arrays (zero-length and one-element arrays) are deprecated, and should be replaced by flexible-array members. So, replace zero-length array with a flexible-array member in `struct PACKED_REGISTRY_TABLE`. Also annotate array `entries` with `__counted_by()` to prepare for the coming implementation by GCC and Clang of the `__counted_by` attribute. Flexible array members annotated with

Boot GSP node with KVM and VirtIO
I'm trying to boot a virtual GSP node with Linux KVM and VirtIO. While the install itself detects both the VirtIO harddisk (/dev/vdx) and VirtIO ethernet nic and completes successfully, I'm not able to boot the virtual machine from it. After POST I can only see the GSP boot message and the countdown timer, but when the timer reach 0 it stalls. When I reassign the _same_ disk as IDE or SCSI

[PATCH] drm/nouveau/dp: Fix incorrect return code in r535_dp_aux_xfer()
I've recently been seeing some unexplained GSP errors on my RTX 6000 from failed aux transactions: [ 132.915867] nouveau 0000:1f:00.0: gsp: cli:0xc1d00002 obj:0x00730000 ctrl cmd:0x00731341 failed: 0x0000ffff While the cause of these is not yet clear, these messages made me notice that the aux transactions causing these transactions were succeeding - not failing. As it turns out, this

Is there a way to have users of the samba server, but not add them by smbpasswd -a <UserID>? I want the samba server to be a domain member and the users to only authentic from the PDC. These are the steps that I have attempted: Users are in both the Windows domain and the UNIX NIS account 1. smbpasswd -j <Domain> -r PDC -U <admin> Joined the Domain 2. edited the
