Ah, yes. One of the many differences between the US and the rest of the world.

November?
It's DD/MM/YYYY in his case, not MM/DD/YYYY. Either way, even two days is more than enough for me.

Royalty for On Hold Music ?
Hi,
Is there any Royalty one needs to pay when using the inbuilt exisimg asterisk on hold music or when using any other mp3 from a music album.
I think we need to pay for the later, but I am not sure if we need to pay for the inbuilt asterisk(freepbx) on hold music.

Hardware that can ring my phone?
Hello,
I am a small business owner in need for a solution
that automatically answers an incoming call, prompts
the caller via touch-tone menu ("press 1 to leave a
message, press 0 to speak to a representative") and
will ring my (real) phone ONLY if requested by caller.
I know that Asterisk is capable of all the logic
behind what I described above. However, I couldn't

Asterisk 1.4.0 B4 Sounds Directory
Hi,
I noticed that the sound directory is missing from asterisk-1.4.0-beta4.tar.gz.
This directory (7 M) witch existed in asterisk-1.4.0-beta3.tar.gz has GSM Core
Sounds and some MOH.
Does anyone know why it has been removed from the latest beta?
Regards.

Need T1 crossover cable?
I'm connecting a T1 PCI card to a Nortel Option 61 switch T1 card. My
Sangoma A102D shipped with 2 T1 cables - which I assume are straight
through. Do I need to make crossover cables for this scenario?
Thanks

glmmPQL model selection
Hi,
I’m sorry, I know that it is a recurrent question but I have not been
able to find the response in the Rhelp archives.
I think my data require the use of the glmmPQL function but I do not
know how to make the model selection. Since the AIC and log-likelihood
are apparently meaningless, how can we select the parameters for a model
and compare the models to find which one fits best the data?

Regression models for ordinal responses ??
Hello list,
Is there any mean to fit models for ordinal response other than multinomial
polytomous ("multinom" from nnet ) and cumulative logit ("polr" from MASS)?
I am particularly interested in continuation-ratio model and
adjacent-category logit model. It is for the sake of epidemiology in
wild-living populations!
Many thanks,

php agi - first phrase truncated, all others fine
I have the following code. When I call the extension, it either ignores the
first "Hello there everyone", or says "hello" and moves on sometime stoping
before it finishes hello. The rest of the text reads fine. Anyone else
have this issue??
Thanks!
require('/var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/phpagi.php');
$agi = new AGI();

Problem loading library Design
I have used library Design (Frank Harrell) in the
past but when I tried this week, I get :
> library(Design)
Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : Object
"formula.default" not found
I updated to the latest version of the library
(2.0) with the same result. My version of R may
not be the latest but it's recent (and I probably
changed since using Design for the last time) :

OT - Fax and anti-spam
Hi,
One of Asterisk features is fax2mail.
As a good share of incoming faxes can be considered as advertising spam,
does it make sense to use email anti-spam features to filter them ?
I can't foresee any practical way to do so but I would be very curious to
discuss about it.

howto debug bad iax voice quality?
I'm set up to call 3 digit extensions at the office ( running 1.4.13)
from home ( 1.6.0 beta7) over iax. 1 out of 3 times the call breaks up,
but only in the home -> office direction. office -> home always sounds good.
If it were a poor internet connection, I'd expect both sides of the
conversation to be poor. Not surprisingly, each side can ping the other
in the same time -

No sound with Playback() or Background()
After switching to Asterisk 1.2.14 from 1.0.x, I encountered a very
strange problem. There is no sound with Playback() or Background()
commands.
Even though, Asterisk console shows the file is being played when I call
the extension (i.e. echo test), I can't hear anything.
My echo test extension looks like this:
exten => 600,1,Answer
exten => 600,2,Playback(demo-echotest)

windows sysvol share
Of course, the sysvol is located on a windows controller from the forest.
mount -t cifs -o username=domain_admin_user
//windowsDC.myDomain.local/SYSVOL /mnt/smb/sysvol
and copied the files with -R --preserve to
/usr/local/samba/var/locks/sysvol/
Below logs are provided from /usr/local/samba/var/log.smbd file.
