Hi, Iv'e got a SuSE 8.0 box with Samba 2.2..3a-64 on it. I tried to copy 4.1GB of MPG/AVI Videos (103 particula files) to a Windows98 SE box. But i din't take long and the Linux box crashes. It don't respond to anything! I tried to copy them by 4file groups. It worked bether but it still crashes once. Where's the "bug" here ??? Hardware: AMD TB 1.1Ghz 512MB SDRAM

Hi! I'm trying to install HL2 and I have no CD drive, So I've been using CDemu to mount the CDs, which works, but when the installer asks "Insert Disc 2" I eject the CD with Code: wine eject d: I then mount CD2 and click to continue but nothing happens and the window doesn't go away. I am stuck and exhausted my resources, can anyone help?

I'm stuck with wine-0.9.19. Each release since then seems to run Steam okay, but then when Steam launches HL2, it fails to load at various points. Anyone else noticed this or know what's going on? If someone could make a suggestion for which debug level to enable that would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi, I've been in #winehq all day with this and nobody seemed to have any ideas, so I figured I'd post here. I recently installed TF2, which is an official HL2 mod. No problems with installation. Hi all, I got Half-Life installed successfully (yeah! :) and I can launch it, too. Next I set up some settings, e.g. cd key, video mode etc. But HL doesn't save these values. Next time I start HL, I'm asked again for the cd key etc. I think that's a problem with the registry. But I don't know which trees to edit to save this stuff. Any hints? Thanks, Tilman

When I run half-life under Codeweavers Wine, it says it cannot validate the cd. I tried cracking it under windows 4 times with different cracks, and they work under windows, but in wine it says my executable has been edited. When I had just plain wine that came iwth mydistro (suse 7.2), it worked fine. I have no idea what to do and what is causing this. Thanks! Matt
