siemens pbx and asterisk
Hello all,
I'm new to asterisk. Our company wants to setup an asterisk server and will
eventually move to IP centric phones, but they don't want to just throw away
the old Siemens PBX, so during the process we want to integrate it with
asterisk. Is it possible? and how?
thanks.

tdm2400p question
Hi all,
I'm confused, in digium website, it says:
TDM2400P: It supports a combination of up to 6 FXS and/or FXO modules for a
total of 24 lines.
6 plus 6 is 12, how come it's 24?
if I have 24 PSTN lines, i'll be needing 24 FXOs.
Pls. elaborate.
thanks.

how scalable is digium cards?
This might be a newbie question but I'm just wondering
how would it be possible to have 30 analog lines using asterisk for PBX
by just using TDM40B and X100P (or are there any device>), if an
ordinary PC support just 4 PCI slots? the maximum scale i guess would
just be 2 x 8. Adding a new PC just for this purpose would be costly.
I would appreciate your comments.
Thanks.

And now onto the palm pilot with Kpilot
I've looked up the Kpilot manual, and I think I have an okay idea of
what's going on with it.
I'm trying to get it's detection feature to find my Palm Pilot. CentOS
does seem to be able to recognize it, because if I run lsusb when
running a hot sync, I get the following:
[root at localhost dev]# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 010: ID 0830:0060 Palm, Inc. Palm Tungsten T / Zire 71

Pipeline pilot fingerprint package
Hi,
I am trying to see if I can use R to perform more rigorous regression analysis. I wonder if the fingerprint package is able to handle pipeline pilot fingerprints (ECFC6 etc) now.
Thank you,
Eric

Designing a Pilot Puppet Infrastructure - Have Questions.
Hi all,
I''ve been following the puppet project for a while now and I think it''s starting to become mature enough to be used in a pilot project at my corp.
I have a few questions:
1. What is the current largest known number of Puppet managed hosts?
2. What are the average network demands on a single puppet master?
3. Has Oracle ever been managed by Puppet?
3a. Has Oracle ever

asterisk gateway to other gateways
Though I've had implementations of Asterisk, I havent encountered this
one yet, so i'd like to seek your advise if this possible.
I would want asterisk to be stand between the dialer the destination.
The dialer will now dial asterisk access number. Asterisk will
acknowledge user by using CallerID and check against its database for
authentication and then sends out a DTMF A tone for ?

VPN Pass through documentation
Dear shorewall users:
I am going to implement VPN IPSEC pass through. Got shorewall as the
main firewall interfacing the internet. I found Tom''s documentation on
how to do it. The question is: there''s an argument that VPN pass through
(pass through NAT) will undermine the importance of AH (source: freeswan
site). Is it true?

macro for dnat through alternate public ip (alias)
Hi,
I have a rule:
DNAT net dmz:a.b.c.d tcp 25 - k.l.m.n
The problem:
I want to DNAT port 25, 143, 110
k.l.m.n is alternate public ip (using vrrp, just like alias)
Can I abridge the above line using macro, instead of writing 3 separate lines?
I can do:
MailPorts/DNAT net dmz:a.b.c.d
But this refer to the physical public ip
I have more elaborate requirement to forward around 20

Palm Pilot, USB, pppd and udev
I've a line like this that creates /dev/pilot link in my local udev rules:
BUS="usb", SYSFS{product}="Palm Handheld*", KERNEL="ttyUSB*[13579]",
SYMLINK="pilot"
And it seems to work fine for doing normal sync operation to Gnome Palm applet
(well, not sure about that KERNEL parameter, however ttyUSB0 and ttyUSB1 look
exactly the same, no other way to

Palm Pilot Sync via USB
Anyone read http://www.informit.com/articles/article.asp?p=462523&rl=1 ?
It is recent and tells you to forget the pilot-link from your distro and
rebuild it with direct USB support:
/configure --enable-libusb
You are support to blacklist "visor" so pilot can control the usb device.
Also newer code.

Wrong/incomplete documentation regarding the 100-bytes path length limit.
Hello @r-devel,
??? From what I read in the following thread:
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-package-devel/2023q4/010197.html
??? The major reason to limit paths lengths in R packages is to help
support MS Windows 260-chars paths lengths limit (pre-W10).
??? However, the official documentation at this address:
https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-exts.html#Package-structure-1

Problem with Full install of 5.2, missing rpm
Hi,
I did a standard i386 install of 5.2 on a test machine. Then I ran the
following command
yum install \*
and got the following error.
Error: Missing Dependency: pilot-link-devel >= 0.11.8 is needed by package

Checking my local repo and my usual upstream mirrors for pilot-link-devel it's
not there.
