Asterisk CTI interface to control legacy PBX
Hello,
I am looking for a way to control another legacy PBX from Asterisk using
a CTI interface. Are you aware of any legacy PBX CTI control card that
can be controlled by Asterisk? I have an Avaya PBX with CTI interface
and researching if I can connect Asterisk to this. :-)
Thanks for any hints.

Any small colleges/universities using PBX or Voicemail?
What an ACTIVE newsgroup!
I'm in the early stages of researching Asterisk. My current environment
is a small college (~1000 sets/~400 student sets), Avaya Definity
G3si/Seimens Rolm Phonemail. As you can imagine, the maintenance,
licensing, and equipment costs are HEFTY.
So.. are there any small colleges/universities using PBX or Voicemail?
If so, I'd be interested in your migration

Transfer of Calls Between Legacy PBX and Asterisk
Hi, We have a scenario where we receive calls from 2 different places:
1- Avaya IP Office
2- CIC Interactive Intelligence PBX
and the calls are transfer automatically to an Asterisk Box.
The problem we are experiencing is that more that half of those calls
come with Echo and Jitter. For outbounds calls everything works
perfect.
I'm on RH9 Stable v1.4 Version, using an quadspad TMD400P digium

Does anyone know? Any tricks I should know about before rolling this

Thanks.

T1 to cross connect remote PBX and asterisk
Looking for someone with a successful experience similar to this;
I have a need to cross connect a 3COM NBX PBX PRI interface to asterisk,
but over a long distance. We do not need any IP connectivity and the
solution requires G.711u audio so there is no benefit to using IP.
Has anyone here successfully cross connected any PBX PRI interface
expecting NI2 PRI signaling B8ZS/ESF with an

Missing 31 DTMF tones over ZAP
Hello,
I'm posting this to the list in case others run into the same issue.
I've recently been connecting * to a legacy Avaya InDEX switch over
E1 ISDN PRI here in the UK. Everything was working OK, except that DTMF
digits were not being recognised by * when sent by the Avaya switch to
the * system. Instead, the background noise of the call centre would be
silenced while

Passive E1 Pri Tap for Voice Recording
Dear All,
Is it possible to install * in front of a Avaya IP 406 system via a T
connector E1 tap so it's external to the Avaya system?
We would like to record upto 60 channels (2 * ISDN30e). This may increase
later.
Also, could the calls go into the cdr for retrieval/browsing later?
What hardware/server would you recommend?
Thanks.

Forklift a 2000 phone PBX
I'm staring at an RFP--this company wants to replace a 2000 position PBX
(at eight locations) with a new system. Their mindset is Nortel/Avaya
because they talk about 28-button digital sets. The do specify a few IP
phones for just one location, so they are aware of VoIP.
I'm going to bid on this--there's nothing to lose except the time it
takes to write the proposal. I'll

Best way to connect asterisk to an traditional PBX
Hi list,
we want to connect asterisk to an traditionnal PBX (EADS 6550/Matra).
People from telco told that they can't connect two PBX's using E1/T1 or
only with QSig signaling.
I wanted to use EuroISDN. In this case, it was me told that VN6-VN7
would be used. The PBX has a spare ADQ card installed on which we would
connect. Has someone a such working setup? Is it working well?

MWI in multi-PBX setup
Has anyone tried to set Message Waiting Indicators up when public network
access and voicemail service are managed by an Asterisk server TDM-connected
to a legacy PBX serving analog and digital phones ?
For instance:
Location 1:
- 200 users on a legacy PBX
- among those users, 50 have access to voicemail service
- TDM trunk to Location 2
Location 2:
- 100 users on Asterisk
- PSTN access

Avaya dialing problems
Currently I am having 2 issues with my Avaya 4602 phone:
First, the phone registers with my Asterisk server, but when I start
dialing I get a busy signal after 4 digits. I specified in the dialplan
on the phone to expect 10 digits and that solved that problem, but I
still immediately get a busy after the 10th digit. The phone never
sends a dial command to asterisk.
Second, asterisk is

revisit to legacy PBX and CID over PRI
My legacy PBX accepts CID number, but not name.
My old PRI vendor never sent the name, so there was never an issue.
I have wedged asterisk between the Legacy PBX and PSTN. PSTN - PRI - asterisk - PRI - Legacy.
Any calls from asterisk (sip and iax extensions) which have callerID set, will not connect.
The legacy PBX hangs up, but asterisk thinks that it is still ringing.

X100P installed OK, after added TDM400P Asterisk would no longer start
Hello
I setup Asterisk@Home with purely VoIP and it worked fine. I then added an
X100P card so I could call out / take inbound calls via PSTN and that went
fine. But I have just added a TDM400P card (specifically a TDM30B) and now
problems.
Here is some of the output. Any ideas on what I should be looking at next?
When I run genzaptelconf -s -d I get lots of erors on screen - bit I can

Asterisk and Avaya IP phones
The company I work for has deployed an Avaya IP phone system. They have
deployed the Avaya 4602 and 4620 IP telephones. They might be sending
me one of these phones for use in my home office.
Question: Can I make this IP telephone register and work with my
Asterisk server? I don't know if it is a SIP phone? I searched thru
the Avaya site, but can't find whether it's a SIP phone or
