hack / spam/ probe /attack
so last night all my servers were severely probed and they tried to
violate me (lol)
the attack was so egregious I decided to contact the isp for that ip.
Telepacific.
The ip has some google searches that point to a few spam and a few
attacks...So i assume a compromised server.
So I sent them the info and said it must be a hacked server (the ip is
on their business network)
they responded

sipura ata 3000 UK (BT) CAllerid
Hi
I wonder whether anyone got the Sipura ata 3000 to decode British
Telecoms callerid and pass it to asterisk?
The userguide seems to suggest that this is not possible, is that right?

Unable to call certain 800 numbers through Teliax
We are unable to call certain 800 numbers through Teliax but I thought I
would post this here and see if anyone else had the same problem with either
Teliax or other carriers.
The 800 numbers causing problems pick-up the call right away and are in the
US - American Airlines (8004337300) and Staples (800-378-2753) - we can call
many other 800 numbers just fine.
Our asterisk setup has a 4-port

Broadvoice - Customer feedback
Hi all,
Can any broadvoice customers give me their opinions on the service
recently? It's actually been pretty quiet on the list lately regarding
them, so it seems to me that they're either getting things straightened
out or everyone has dropped the service.
Thank you in advance

Caching application data
Hi,
say my application has a small 20 row information table in the database
that stores names of airlines:
"continental", "delta", united" , etc...
These names will be used in various pages of the application for all the
website users for different actions. They do not expect to change often.
what I do now is - when a user logs in - these airline names are queried

Voipjet experiment
Hi List,
I'm wondering if someone who uses VoipJet as their termination service
would do me a favor.
If I call the American Airlines reservation number (1-800-433-7300), the
call gets connected, but after 30 seconds asterisk drops the call
responding that no one answered.
I'm using areskicc2 (calling card app) as an authentication system and I
don't know if that is what is

options_from_collection_for_select
I need to add a blank or dashed field to the
options_from_collection_for_select helper but can''t seem to get it to
work. Tried this, but with no effect:
<%= options_from_collection_for_select @airlines, ''id'', ''name''],
{:include_blank=>true} %>
Anyone know how to do this? Thanks,

merging data frames gives all NAs
Dear kind R helpers,
I have a vector of runway names in rwy ("31R", "31L",... the number is
user selectable)
arrgnd is a data frame with data for all flights and all runways, with a
Runway column.
I am trying to subset arrgnd into a dat frame for each selected runway,
and then combine them back together using the following code:

Asterisk Users Mailing List Traffic
The volume/traffic on this list has been getting pretty heavy. I find
it hard to follow certain discussions and there are some that I am not
interested in. Perhaps, we could split the list into two: One for
discussing hardware (client phones and cards) and one for the software
(configuration, problems, etc...) Or some other better scheme that
someone can propose.

Unexpected timeout in rsync
Hi
I am having trouble with intermittent timeouts when backing up a largish set
of files from /usr using rsync. Approx 125,000 files, 2GB. Backup is to same
machine, from a partition on hda to one on hdb. I am using ribs 2.1
(slightly modified to ignore rsync error 23), run with nice -n 5 via cron.
(for ribs visit http://rustyparts.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=9 )
Typical error report is:

keent() from Tika - with doveadm
According to man page, the only way it can return EINVAL (22) is either bad filter, or bad timeout. I can't see how the filter would be bad, so I'm guessing ts must be bad. Unfortunately I forgot to ask for it, so I am going to have to ask you run it again and run
p ts
if that's valid, then the only thing that can be bad if the file descriptor 23.

Ok so that timeval makes no sense. We'll look into it.

can you recommend a good manual for R that starts with a data set and gives
demonstrations on what can be done using R? I downloadedR Langauage
definition and An introduction to R but haven't found them overly useful.
I'd really like to be able to follow some tutorials using a dataset or many
datasets. The datasets I have available on R are
Data sets in package 'datasets':
