TellMe Voice Recognition in Asterisk working..
A couple of weekends ago I decided to see if I could get Asterisk to
play nice with TellMe's VoiceXML studio. They provide the VoiceXML
studio for free, and you can access it through SIP, so I thought this
would be a fun and cheap way to integrate voice recognition into my
IVR. I have posted a brief tutorial with code and examples on the
voip-info.org wiki (

tokbox - voice and video in the browser
Interesting to note that Tokbox now has 'clientless' voice and video
conferencing in the browser.
Does anyone know how they do this? Any thoughts on how we can leverage
off this for the asterisk community.

FW: Microsoft buys Tellme

I thought I would email this post I made on my blog from yesterday as a
way of stimulating discussion on this.
It looks like the Asterisk community is no closer to getting a Pre-Paid
'Offboard Speech Recognition Processing' SIP gateway than ever. I've

Alec Saunders post about Mashable Telco's
Interesting read in Alec Saunders blog today.
http://saunderslog.com/2007/03/01/mashable-telcos/
Thought it may interest some people on this list.
As food for thought, why it is that ITSP's haven't come up with more
'interesting' voice applications? When asterisk first became available I
thought it was the beginning of seeing really neat applications, think

Voice Recognition
Has anyone out there had any success with any type of voice
recognition? I would LOVE to see something work within Asterisk. I
have tried for days and can't seem to get this right. Is it even
possible? I have read everything I can find, but it's like the sphinx
integration/documentation was dropped because of lack of interest. I
tried this with Sphinx-2 because it contained the

voice recognition xml
Anyone here technical enough to design a voice recognition voice xml
interchange for asterisk please email me; I've been speaking with a
contact of mine that is in the voice recognition space and he is
interested in 'donating' some technical support to the Asterisk
community to assist with this project.
This can only help benefit the Asterisk Community if this comes off.

Has anyone heard anything about these guys? Anyone seen anything like
this?

It's seems very cool, basically uses GPRS as a digital overlay on your
mobile phone for additional functionality such as presence and IM though
I'm sure they have some other functionality (voicemail access, call
announce etc) coming down the pipeline.
Any thoughts,

[VOIP-Users-Conference] Potential subject for Friday - Does the Asterisk community need a 3rd party commercial software ecosystem?
Hi BJ,
Further explanation about the 3rd party ecosystem question this morning
Cory Andrews from VoIP supply was on the Voip-Users conference call last
week.
I asked the question - how much of VoIP Supply revenue is product versus
applications - he said we don't sell any services such as ITSP hosted
Asterisk so I replied that wasn't what I was thinking of and gave the
example of Snap

I personally use Snapanumber $30 or there abouts (after trialing a few
other TAPI solutions and finding them sub-par) and think it's a great
product but interesting to see how more people are expecting
desktop/phone integration applications.

Voice recognition with Asterisk
What voice recognition software options are available with Asterisk? I've
seen some references to Sphinx in the lists and docs, but I can't find
details on on how to integrate with Asterisk. If anyone has had success
integrating and using voice recognition in Asterisk, I would greatly
appreciate advice and links to information.
Thanks.

Voice recognition IVR Is it possible?
Hello list,
I was wondering if it were possible for asterisk to do a voice recognition type IVR?
Like you know how most banks and stuff do, where they ask you to say your selection or key it in?
If this is possible, how can I set this up? I'm using FreePBX 2.11 on Linux, CentOS 6.7 32-bit, asterisk version 1.8.32.3.
Thanks.
