configuring a Cisco 7961 so that different line appearances register to different SIP proxy addresses
Hi, I have been using Cisco 7960's with Asterisk for years. I am trying get a 7961 working and have a problem. In my configuration, not all of my line appearances register to the same Asterisk SIP server. I have an Asterisk server at home and another at work. My Line 1 button registers to the home server and my Line 2 button registers to the work server. This has worked for years

Cisco 7970 - register with NAT phone
continuing discussions of 79xx issues. i've seen referenced and am experiencing difficulty getting a 7970 to work behind NAT to a public asterisk server. i am successful with 7960s. 1. SIP load is 70.8-3-3SR2S 2. config works fine if 7970 is connecting to an asterisk server a local LAN (same subnet) 3. when debugging it in a NAT'd environment I see the register and

Page() and Asterisk 1.2.3 Problems?
Has anyone else had problems with the Page() application not working under Asterisk 1.2.3? We use Cisco 7960 phones and set one of the lines to auto answer. When someone dials the paging extension it calls the page app and invites all the lines on the phones that are set to auto answer into a meetme conference where all the members are muted except the original caller. When I try to use the

Unprovisioned 7961
Hi Everyone, I am having some issues getting my 7961 working with Trixbox. I have loaded the SIP code (8-3-3SR2) fine but when the phone boots up it goes into an unprovisioned state. A status message shows up and says ?Error Verifying Config Info?. I have read quite a bit on this topic (getting 7961?s to work with Asterisk and TB) and only came across a few postings where other people

Registering Cisco 7942G IP phone with Asterisk!.
Hi, ? We are new to IP phone firmware upgradation (Sorry if it is a re-post of previous question(s)). ? Recently we have bought a cisco 7942G IP phone. It currently has SIP 42.9-0-2SR1S firmware loaded on it. We do not see any option to configure a SIP Proxy where we can provide SIP Server (Asterisk PC/Device)? IP address (with current firmware on it) to register it with Asterisk. ? Do we need to

Paging and Auto Answer on Grandstream GXP2000
I am looking to setup paging using the auto answer feature on the Grandstream GXP2000. I am thinking I will follow the method as described here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+cmd+page I will setup the 4th account on the phone to auto answer. Does anyone else have a method that works better? I also looked at the allpage AGI written on Voip-Info. But it seems

Extension Mobility with Asterisk and Cisco 79x1 phones
Hi. I'm trying to develop a module that emulates the Cisco Extension Mobility feature from CallManager (the ability to log in to a phone and temporarily acquire the extension, soft key programming, and all other settings for that user profile) with Asterisk 1.4 and Cisco 79xx phones (some with SIP and some with SCCP, as the 7914 extension module does not support SIP). I've almost

ParkAndAnnounce + Paging
Hi everybody. It is possible to announce the parking position through a paging to a group of extensions? I would like that when someone parks a call, some phones will announce with the speaker the position. Something like: exten => s,1,ParkAndAnnounce(call-parked-at:PARKED|30|PAGE(LOCAL/PAGEyyyy@custom-auto page&LOCAL/PAGEzzzz@custom-autopage|) Is there a way, maybe with a

Cisco 79xx users/consultants, 7970G color in particular share information (was: Re: asterisk-users Digest, Vol 44, Issue 3)
The documentation of how to use the 79xx series' phones and features with Asterisk is really hard to find and put together. The higher end phones like 7970 are more like converged PC+phone, a thin client to telephony and network apps. But it's really hard to target it as a development and deployment platform because the docs and techniques are so obscure. There seems to be a fair amount

Paging HardPhones
I have been testing * with some Cisco 7912G's, in hope to trash our Nortel system. One feature our Nortel system has that I will need to fiqure out on the * system is paging. Is it possible to page a group of phones (all phones) with announcements? We are a k-12 school and we use our current phone system to make announcements on the phones monitor speaker. Any direction I can be pointed in

Cisco 7961 new firmware stops reading configuration files
Hello, I have been running SIP41.8-2-2SR4S firmware on the Cisco 7961 and have recently upgraded to SIP41.8-3-2SR1S to add the DND button on the front of the phone and also to hopefully resolve some issues with the phones not registering after a long period. Once we upgraded the phones now display "Error Verifying Config Info" in the Status messages and will not process the

Cisco 7970 BLF/Presence
I have been trying to get the 7970 (running SIP firmware) to display presence information about other extensions. Thus far, I have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have BLF working on the SIP-loaded 7941/7961/7970/7971? I have been using the following as a guide for my work: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+Presence+for+Cisco+79x1+Phones I have successfully implemented every step

Cisco 7965 SIP Firmware

I have tried the version at voip-info<info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+phone+cisco+79x1+xml+configuration+files+for+SIP&view_comment_id=14768#Troubleshooting>for the 7941/7961 but unfortunately /var/log/messages shows in.tftp stops sending after

Cisco 7961 + 7914, speeddials, BLF & Asterisk 1.4?
Hi, Does anyone have any experience with a Cisco 7961 + 7914 Operator Console setup and speeddials/BLF on Asterisk 1.4? Would appreciate feedback if this works reliably. I have a 7961 on skinny registering on an 1.4.19 box with chan_sccp and speeddials work fine so that part seems ok. I have no experience with the BLF part. >From googling around it seems that BLF on the 7914 only works with

OT: Cisco 7961 SIP downgrade from 8.3.3 -> 8.0.4SRS2 failing
Hi, My apologies for the OT. My googling came up empty and hopefully there are some members in the community that could give me a hint how to solve this issue: Cisco 7961 with SIP firmware 8.3.3. Needed to downgrade it to 8.0.4SRS2. The downgrade process started off good. The 7961 got it's IP address via DHCP, found it's SEP<mac>.cnf.xml file and started to "upgrade"

Configure one call per line on Cisco 7941/7961
Anyone aware of how to configure one call per line on a Cisco 7941/7961? The default behaviour is to have two calls per line button, and this is confusing for some of my users so I'd like to be able to have the 2nd call ring the second line button, rather than being shared with the first. I'm hoping this is something that is configurable in the XML or on the phone UI. Thanks Gary

Cisco 79xx users/consultants, 7970G color in particular share information
I would like to get in contact with users/consultants who are or have worked with the Cisco phones and Asterisk to trade information. Cisco has reluctantly made SIP available on their phones and most of the information on voip-info and other wiki's appears to be reverse engineered. There is a wealth of information out there which is terrific. I have a client with about 40 phones

Softkey config example for Cisco 7941/7961
I found on the web that there is way to customize the softkeys for the 7941/7961 phones. In the SEP<mac>.xml there is a section called "softKeyFile" where you can specify an xml file for the softkeys. I couldn't find any examples of this softkey file or the format to this file. Does anyone have a call manager enviroment where they can look at this file and send me an
