UPDATE - Analog Phones with FSK/Stutter MWI
After purchasing the Uniden TRU9480 and then the Panansonic 5672, both of
which do not have "phone company" compatible FSK/stutter MWI, I finally
got smart and found out just which Panasonic phones have this feature.
Only the following 5.8G models in their current line have FXO compatible
MWI. I purchased the 5771 unit and one remote. I have confimed it does in
fact work with Asterisk

How to use Sipura SPA3k POTS line to dial Asterisk SIP phones?
My SIP phones can dial out through Sipura SPA3k to POTS for local and
911 calls _but_ incoming POTS calls are being swallowup somehow.
Am I on the right track with the code snippit below?
sip.conf:

In sip.conf the following code is _supposed_ to ring the SIP phones when
a POTS line call comes in through Sipuara to Asterisk.

SPA3k wired to PAP2 for echo testing
In my seemingly endless search for the cause of echo on my SPA3000, I
wired it up in the following configuration:
Analogue Handset <--> (FXS)SPA3000(FXO) <--> PAP2
And set the Line1 dialplan on the SPA3k to '(<:@gw0>S0)' which means
that as soon as I pick up the handset I get linked straight through to
the PAP2, which gives me dialtone.
Even in this configuration, with

Spa3k and ISDN
Hello all,
I have an ISDN termination box (TR1) that converts ISDN(Bri) to 2 normal
analogue lines. The same number is assigned to these lines. These lines are
connected to 2 spa3k registered to my asterisk box.
When calls arrive, TR1 try to pass call to the first spa. If spa not takes
the call immediately then try to pass to the other spa. The only
configuration I found works is to put the

1.6.1 + TDM840 FSK MWI problem
Hi,
Using 1.4.26.1 & DAHDI 2.2.0.2, FSK VMWI devices off a TDM840 work fine.
With 1.6.1.[45] & same DAHDI, instead of the FSK spill I get a line
polarity reversal. Stutter dialtone is generated as expected.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there anything special I need to do for
1.6.1 to make FSK MWI work?
Thanks,

MWI on Zap analog phone not lighting
We are using Bellsouth 8867 phones on our TDM400B FXS lines
(asterisk-1.0.3). It has a "Voicemail" light, which appears to be MWI
(according to the manual it works with voicemail from the telco that
sends a FSK signal). The dialtone stutters when a line has voicemail, so
I know that I have the mailbox setting right in zapata.conf, but the
light doesn't go on. I am also getting

MWI question
Using a TE410P with Zhone 24FXS channel banks to power
standard analog phones I can't seem to find out if it's possible to
support FSK or voltage type message waiting lamps. I don't want to
use stutter dial tone because of the dramatic difference in per phone
cost.

issue with Digium TDM410P
The TDM410P doesn't support 'hvac', only the obsolete TDM400P supports that
option was for the old phones that have a neon light (or equivalent
LED+ZENER ciruit).
Are other phones off the TDM410P (other than the VTECH) working, or is the
Vtech the only model with VMWI available to you.
I'm not able to check at the moment, I have copied the asterisk-users list,

Monitoring a telco line for MWI through a TDM400 FXO
Folks,
I've tried to find a reference, but I've had no luck, and would
appreciate your thoughts:
I'd like to be able to monitor a telco line for Message Waiting
Notification, however I cannot figure out if this capability is
available.
Detecting either FSK or Stuttered Dial tone would serve, but I can't
find anything in the list archives or Wiki with clues as to how this
might

Caller ID : FSK ETSI or FSK US
Hello, All :)
Regarding to incoming caller ID on PSTN line, which one is best supported
by asterisk: is it FSK ETSI or FSK US?
I bought some caller ID converter hardware (convert DTMF to FSK and vice
versa) but still asterisk can not detect it.
The converter has a switch FSK ETSI or FSK US
This is what I put in /etc/asterisk/chan_dahdi.conf

Recommendation for FXO
Ok,
I am back from my thanksgiving holiday, and I find there was a big
snow storm here in Seattle. Apparently during the storm there where
multiple brown out/black outs.
I have struggled since day one to get a high quality PSTN gateway
configured with my very long loop and Mac based asterisk.
I originally tried the HT-488, which had multiple issues, and was
unacceptable. I then purchased

Cut leading digit?
Using a spa3000 with asterisk cvs head, and the spa3k is config'ed with
a dialplan that essentially routes any call starting with an "8" to
asterisk. All other US 7 and 10 digit calls, 911, etc, route via the
spa3k's fxo port.
Is there a way in extensions.conf to:
- inspect the dialed exten number,
- if first digit is "8", drop the 8,
- continue through each

Inter Domain trusts and BDC
I have a Samba-LDAP PDC at an office and 5 BDC's at other offices. At
corporate HQ I have a W2k Server and domain. I have properly
configured an interdomain trust and Users in the Samba domain can get to
sections on the W2k machine regardless of location. However, members in
the W2K domain can only access shares on the PDC. Attempts to access
shares on a BDC cause a user name

US Caller ID
Okay, I can't find what might be causing this. Here is what I got:
Asterisk server hooked up to a digital T1 line (full 24-channel) via a
Digium card.
Verizon has turned on caller ID on the first line (I can guarantee it
is on as I can hear the FSK tones on this line but not the others).
Using zttool an ZapScan() I have determined the following:

Dear Friends,
We have implemented "Asterisk" in our organization. There are 150 members in our organization. At present all are using softphones. Now, I want to buy hardphones for our staff. Can anybody suggest me that what is the best hardphone for Asterisk with low-cost?
Thank you.

Cisco SIP Gateway
Is anyone using a cisco router as an ISDN gateway with Asterisk?
As you might have seen from a couple of my threads, I have been looking at
Fritz! and Cologne cards, both of which require development against a
specific version of asterisk/zaptel (e.g. chan_capi), which is intrusdive
and causes a lag in deployment.
I was thinking a better approach might be to use a seperate gateway, such as

Version FIOS MWI Detection - asterisk-1.6-beta7
I'm trying to get the Telco MWI recognition working in asterisk-1.6-beta7. I'm told that it's supposed to work provided
my telco support FSK MWI signalling.
I have Verzon FIOS. I believe I have FSK MWI signaling as I can hear the standard stutter tone when I pick up a live
handset in front of my asterisk connection.
I have the Verizon line attached to a TDM400 card, port 4.
