Shared Extension Appearance
If SLA supports IP trunks, can shared extension appearance be achieved using
a local SIP trunk in place of an extension?
Basically, I'm trying to allow some stations (Polycom IP 650) to have a
shared extension amongst all of them. Ideally, I'd like for the LED to show
if that extension is in use, and I'd like for the extension to ring all
stations on that extension when a call comes

Shared Line Appearances (SLA) in 1.4
Greetings,
Back in September someone asked about documentation for the new SLA feature
in 1.4, however they received no replies. I thought I might ask the same
question now in December. Apart from sla.conf.sample and a few comments in
app_meetme.c I have been unable to find useful documentation. Is anyone
using this feature right now? Is there a helpful source for information this

"real life" example of SLA definition
Hello,
I am looking for a "real life" example of using SLA lines under Asterisk.
I'll describe my environment and would like to know how I define it in
Asterisk (version 1.4 final).
Suppose I have two multi lines phones. The first phone has extension 1
assigned to it, and the second phone has extension 2 assigned to it. Now, I
want extension 3 to be available on both phones as

Shared Line Appearances in 1.4
I've noticed sla.conf in Asterisk 1.4. I'd love to test it, but how does it work? There's bupkiss docs, and until I have a clue how to use it, I can't test it.

SLA Appearance between 2 Cisco 7960's (SIP)
Has anyone had any success with getting SLA going between 2 SIP phones?
(Particularly a set of Cisco 79xx's) The SLA document that comes with
the asterisk source is about as clear as mud.
Does anyone have a working sip.conf, sla.conf, and extensions.conf that
I can use for reference?
The part I'm most confused about is how to build the lines in sip.conf
and how the phones should

Migrating from key system to asterisk
I currently have 4 lines coming into the house. We currently have an Avaya standard analog key system which has served us well, but running extensions is a major pain and requires a dedicated run per extension. I have ethernet run throughout the house though.
The first two lines are "home" lines, however line1 I use for my consulting during the day, and line2 is used by my wife for

SLA broken in 1.4.3?
I configured my sla.conf to use with a Polycom phone. I have no idea
if I did it right, however, none of the console "sla" commands
exist. Do I have to something special to compile in this support, or
should it just work out of the box?

sas to r
I would be incredibly grateful to anyone who'll help me translate some
SAS code into R code.
Say for example that I have a dataset named "dat1" that includes five
variables: wshed, site, species, bda, and sla. I can calculate with the
following SAS code the mean, CV, se, and number of observations of
"bda" and "sla" for each combination of

What is acceptable network latency forvoipconnection?
In the real world (or at least in my world) we use undersubscribed
internet connections that come with a service level agreement (SLA) that
guarantees that the jitter, delay, and packet loss with be within
defined parameters in the service agreement.
With most DSL and Cable you will not get a SLA, with the cheapest T1s
you might get one, but the only penalty to the ISP if they do not meet

how to join calls - not barge?
I'd like to have an extension "join" a call. That is, C can join A and
B, just as if it were an analog extension phone.
ChanSpy works, sort of. The problem is that once A or B hangs up, the
channel is gone. With an analog extension, C would remain connected with
B if A hung up.
Can I throw A and B into a confbridge and then add C? Create a new
channel that grabs the A

SLA and Flashing BLF
I understand that the Asterisk SLA implementation is somewhat different
from most key systems and PBX systems. I also understand that in
Asterisk, one does not put an SLA line on hold since it is just a MeetMe
conference. However, is there any way to make the BLF flash when the
answering party on the Asterisk system presses the hold key on their set
and leaves the calling party alone in the

SLA and Polycom
Has anyone done SLA with Polycom phones? I've got a large project coming
up where the customer is keen on SLA for trunks and extensions. Trunks
will be on a PRI.
We may do this with Cisco phones if they work better.

Boot failed on latest CentOS 7 update
Hi Johnny,
thank you for your answer. I always accepted release cycle of CentOS
without any problem (maybe with EL8 but it is ok).
I don't need SLA and I don't blame anyone for this, errors can occour. For
example in this story, I applied blindly updates without check what and how
so really I ran the command that brake my installation...and as I said no
problem for this.

That requirement is trivially satisfied by just a single VF :) If your
SLA does not require live migration, you should do just that.

cisco spa phones and sal
Hi
?? I have been trying for several days get 3 Cisco spa508g phones
(firmware 7.5.5) to work with asterisk 11.6 cert1 and sla. I can get
the phones to all ring when an incoming call arrives, and I see the
slatrunk working. However the blf function does not work. If one
extension picks up the call the others do not show the trunk in use.?
And as you might expect the hold and outbound dialing does
