Linksys PAP2T-NA - call goes through but phone doesn't ring
I'm trying out a Linksys PAP2T-NA. Calling out works great, no problems there. Calling in, though, the phone doesn't ring. Caller ID shows up, I can pick up the phone, and the call is connected, but no ring. I've tried it on two analog phones, same behavior. Suggestions? Asterisk SVN-branch-1.2-r31555. - James Moore

Provisioning Linksys PAP2T ATA's
Does anyone know how the Linksys PAP2T ATA's can be mass provisioned? Documentation seems to be sketchy, even on the Linksys web site. How to configure a Linksys PAP2T ATA to connect an analog fax machine to Asterisk
I was having problems getting a Linksys PAP2T-NA to work with Pitney Bowes mailing station so it could use its modem to dial home and download postage/software updates. After scowering the web, I couldn't seem to find a definite how to article on what settings were needed. I finally came up some settings by combining the information from various places around the 'net. I have typed out

linksys pap2 automatically connect on lifting handset
Is there a way to configure the linksys pap2 to automatically connect to asterisk on lifting the handset (presumably into the 's' state)? Asterisk would then be listening for DTMF tones to figure out what to do rather than having to put a dial plan into each pap2. I think the pap2 is pretty much the same inside as a few of the sipura boxes so the same thing might work if anyone knows...

Linksys PAP2 / RT31P2 + multiple G.729 calls
Hi, anyone can confirm if the Linksys's ATA and Router (PAP2-NA and RT31P2-NA) have the same limitation of just one G.729 call like the Cisco ATA 186 ? I'm testing both appliances here and found this issue but could not confirm this anywhere (nothing on the manual, no document or post from any user about this). In my tests they use G.729 only on the first call and G.711 on the

PAP2
I know this is slightly off topic, but I was wondering if anyone can help with a problem getting my PAP2's to connect to Asterisk. I use a provisioning file, and I recently re-wrote the files for each PAP2. I had a small typo and the PAPs logged it as a corrupt file. I corrected the file, however, Line 1 on both of the PAP2's now wont register. Line 2 works fine though. I've done the

PAP2T-NA Jitter Buffer
Hi Folks, I know the PAP2T-NA has a jitterbuffer.... however, it seems to be adaptive, which is fine for most situations... however, is there some way I can either: A) Specify how long it waits before it starts to shrink? B) Specifiy a fixed sized jitterbuffer? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

reinvite, DISA, and switching codec's.
My setup is this: Analogue phone attached to a Linksys PAP2 | Asterisk | VoIP provider I have put the PAP2 in 'batphone' mode where when you pick it up it immediately dials the 's' extension in the pap2_incoming context in Asterisk, where asterisk answers the call and does a DISA(no-password, internal). I do this because it means I can centralise all of my dialplan logic in

Security - Using Linksys PAP2T from outside with a dynamic IP is there anyway to block all other traffic but those of the PAP2T?
Hi Everyone I think PAP2T supports DynDNS and other Dynamic DNS providers. I have a box that needs to be secured at all times. Currently it's not connected to the internet. If it were connected, I would have iptables block any and all traffic from outside but I want a single device - Linksys PAP2T - to be able to connect back to the server. That is a stand alone device and doesn't support

number that starts with star on PAP2
We have some extensions in our dialplan that start with a star. We can dial them from Zap phones and SIP phones, but not from phones connected to a PAP2. After the user presses star follwed by two digits (our extensions are dialed with star followed by three digits) he hears a fast-busy that comes from the PAP2, not from Asterisk. This also happens with the builtin *8 (call pickup). In

Wanted: UK-specific hardware recommendations (FXO and FXS)
I have a pair of Asterisk servers which are happily routeing VoIP calls. I want to hook one of them to the PSTN. Given that I am in the UK, what is a reasonably easily-available device to provide an FXO interface from a Linux box, with a minimum of faffing around with drivers? Just one line is needed, though in theory two might eventually be useful. My usual white-box hardware suppliers don't

Aastra 51i and PAP2T behind NAT
OK this is the RTFM question of the day but I need a sanity check. I have 2 Astra 51i phone and a linksys PAP2 on a single DSL connection. 2 Aastra 51i---------| |-NAT on dsl moden--(Internet)--Asterisk PAP2t----------------| The DSL modem/router which has QOS set for the src and dest to the * box the PAP2 has both lines registered @ ports 5060 and 5061 and work like a charm. one of the

new ATA box for sale by Linksys
Fry's Electronics has a new Linksys 2 line ATA box for sale for $59.99 retail. They have a version with a router for $89.99. We picked the non-router version up and it seems to be a rebadged Sipura SPA-2000. The box has a Vonage service package inside as well, but it does work with other services. The box also has a "User Guide" meant for end-users that is very well written [no

Linksys PAP2-NA Config
Hi, I have 3 PAP2 connected to *, they work fine but there are some things which I would like to improve, some of them are: - double ring tone when placing a call (I hear two tones it seems like the PAP2 is generating it's own tone) - some kind of noise (like glitches or something) when I pick up the phone (seems like some polarity thing) - I'd like to keep the tone after

Question setting up a "bat phone" extension.
Basically, I am looking to set up an extension which will be used as a "help-line". I want it to function kind of like the bat phone from the old Batman series, where Commissioner Gordon would pick up the extension in his office and it would ring the phone back at Wayne's mansion. Is there a way to duplicate this functionality with Asterisk? I just need asterisk to auto-dial an

linksys pap2 automatically connect on liftinghandset
The best I can do so far (which appears to be a bit of a hack) is (<:0>S0), which says to add a '0' to the start of the string and dial immediately. This gives asterisk an extension dialled of '0', which isn't the 's' that i'd hoped for, but is a good start! (S0) by itself doesn't work, nor does (<:>S0). Any other suggestions? Thanks James >

Linksys PAP2-NA failures...
Has anybody else experienced problems with the Linksys PAP2-NA's? I've now had two of them fail unexpectedly, with no apparent rhyme or reason, having gone into a RED power LED, with a solid blue ethernet LED. No response from the device either on the network or from the phone.... To make matters even crazier, the one that now failed was the one I received as a replacement for the

Splash ring on PAP2t
Hi all, I've got a customer who has a complaint about the splash ring that tells him that he's got voicemail waiting. My understanding this that this signal is being generated by the PAP2 and not astrisk. Anyway, he'd like to change the ring tone so that he can distunguish it from a regular call. Can this be done? -- Take care and have fun, Mike Diehl.
