Aastra phone # key in dialplan
I want to use extension numbers that begin with the # key in my dialplan, but I can't get my Aastra phone (6731i) to transmit the # key to asterisk. It works fine for the * key. I've tried numerous Local Dial Plan patterns in the aastra web configuration but none of them worked. My current Local dial Plan pattern is "x+#|xx+*|#x+". Any help would be appreciated. -- Marvin

Question Re Basis Pro5 and Samba File and Record Locking
Don't know much about Samba, so maybe this is a silly question, but could I use SAMBA to allow Pro5 (Basis) applications, running on a number of SCO Unix servers, to access data on a common server? (ie 6 SCO application servers need to access a common data base, sitting on a separate SCO server.) We have tried mounting an NFS volume on the data server to each of the application servers,

subsetting a dataframe with a string logical expression
Hi, I am trying to subset a dataset based on a filter defined by a user... I prompt the user for input.. resulting in a string logical expression ("X1 < 3"). I have tried using subset, but it is looking for a logical expression, not a character string. I keep getting the error: 'subset' must evaluate to logical. Example: x <- data.frame(matrix(1:15, nrow=5, ncol=3))

OT: Polycom IP501 Config file error - Error is 0x4020 (during autoboot...)
Using FTP to configure 501. Gets past "Running... App = sip.ld" and: Welcome! Processing configuration... "This may take a few seconds." Then it displays: Config file error Error is 0x4020 and reboots continuously, repeating the above. Anyone seen this before? Is this a corrupt *.ld file? An FTP error? (PASV)? A missing SETUP setting? Thanks! -- Jim Rice by Design

roundrobin strategy in queues not working as described?
I have set up an operator queue for our receptionist. That way, if she takes a break or is out, by logging out of the queue, calls to the "Operator" can be handled by other agents. I have set strategy = roundrobin in queues.conf. According to "the book" ATFoT, roundrobin always starts with the first agent in the queue. This is the desired result. I want all calls to start

Isolating rails model specs from their implementation
I''m currently taking a Rails project management app I built when learning Rails and adding specs to it. During the course of building the app the requirement that project should be archiveable was added. So a project is in one of two states active or archived. This led to the creation of the following methods: Project.active_projects Project.archived_projects @project.active?

How to check if a phone / line is used?
In the past I used SetGroup and CheckGroup to figure out if my allowed providers lines are all used or not. Since most of my provider have given me a single line anyway, I wonder if there is a way to check if this (provider) line is taken already. How can I do that? Same is with the phone. How can I see in CLI if a phone is now in use or not? "Sip show peers" shows me just if it is

Aastra 480 i
Getting "no service" display on aastra 480i. Sip debug shows an "unathorized" blub when the aastra tries to register. Some reading indicates that 1.4 firmware wants aastra.cfg and mac.cfg in /tftpboot/. There are none. Anyone have basic config files? Or can point me to a good link? All links I have tried, that purport to have config files, are either dead or error out.

AASTRA 480i Firmware 1.2.0.162 SIP ALERT_INFO problems
I have been playing with a 480i with the new firmware 1.2.0.162 I hope to get some form of paging intercom function to work. In the wiki someone post that ALERT_INFO type of paging might be in this version of firmware but I have been unable to find anything on this yet. I have tried sending the ALERT_INFO to the phone a number of ways with no results. I then hooked up my bt100 and tried to dial

cisco 7940 and auto-answer (aastra 480i vs 7940)
Having scoured the web, I still am no better off .. I have 2 Aastra480i's , and 120+ cisco 7940's :) . I am trying to decide which model to use going forward when we purchase more kit. They both seem much on a par regarding features. Q1: Is there anyway of making the cisco auto-answer _without_ having to manually edit the configuration on each phone ? I've been able to get the

POE draw on Aastra 480i
Anyone know what the POE draw is for the Aastra 480i phones? We have switches that will do 15 watts on 12 ports but only do 7.7 watts on all 24 ports. A Cisco 3560 switch will do 15.6 watts on all 24 ports. Just trying to find out if we need that much power. Can't seem to find any info on the Aastra site. Comments?

Current viewpoints on the Sayson/Aastra 480i
I have read the user reports on the Aastra 480i SIP phones, but the last report is from October, and the advice was to stay away from these units. I was looking at the cisco 79XX series or the SPA-941's, but they don't have backlit displays. I also like POE support so I don't have to run multiple wires to the phones and makes for a neater look. I dislike the looks of the SNOM

Aastra 480i & Asterisk 1.8.3.2: No musiconhold
After upgrading to 1.8.3.2 today, I notice that my Aastra 480i SIP phones no longer initiate hold music when a call is placed on hold. I seem to be having the same issue as the person here: http://forums.digium.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=77553 Has anyone else run into this issue? -- Anthony - http://messinet.com - http://messinet.com/~amessina/gallery 8F89 5E72 8DF0 BCF0 10BE 9967 92DC 35DC

Aastra/Sayson 480i
I'm currently testing these phones and so far I'm very pleased with them. I'm using the SIP image (Version: 1.0.0.23 Release: 0032-01-A4). There are a few issues with the speaker not working properly when you dial out or pick a call but this is a known issue and will be hashed out in the next release. I've been working with the developers at Sayson and they have been very
