Asterisk in a rural project
We have working in a rural project and I have selected Asterisk. Because * will work with a prepay system we need a precise answer supervision for outgoing calls. The pilot system will have 8 trunks to PSTN. The Telephone Company provides EURO BRI and analog CO trunks. On CO trunks the answer supervision is reversal polarity. The village to be served will be connected through a WLAN. Thus,

TDM400P not detecting hangup and not hanging up
Canuck15, No, I hadn't played with the gains. But I've now done so and no difference unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though. I have discovered that after Asterisk has answered the call and the remote caller has hung up, if I lift the receiver on a phone connected to the line (in parallel with Asterisk), Asterisk then DOES instantly hang up. Would it be reasonable to assume the

Problem with TDM400P and cidstart=polarity
I'm testing a TDM400P with FXO module to receive incoming calls from an analogue line and send it to a SIP device. To recieve callerid, I need to use cidsignalling=dtmf and cidstart=polarity. The problem is that when a call is finished, the TDM400P seems to require about 20 seconds to prepare for the next incoming call. If a new call comes in within 20 seconds after the previous call was

Got event 17 (Polarity Reversal)...
Can anyone tell me what this message means? Got event 17 (Polarity Reversal)... I'm running DAHDI 2.0 with a TDM401 card. Asterisk version 1.6.0. It appears that I get this Polarity Reversal each time an inbound call hangs up. This results in another ring, but no one is there. It appears as an unknown caller, but I believe its a phantom. TDM400P FXO problems
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi! I live in Sweden and I am having problems getting asterisk to properly detect when a caller hangs up. And yes, I DO have disconnect-supervision on my line. Also asterisk sometimes misinterprets the disconnect-signal as another incoming call. This usually happens if I hang up first and then when the caller hangs up, asterisk treats it as a new

hangup detection
So I made the mistake of buying a Carrier Access channel bank without noticing the page on the wiki about the fact that they don't support disconnect supervision (bastards!). However, apart from that, I do have it working fine for incoming calls. Is there some trick to get asterisk to detect the hangup tones from SBC? I've tried busydetect and callprogress as suggested, but neither

Hang-up Detect - Yet Again
I realise I am not alone in this, but I don't seem to be finding many solutions. I am running a CentOS box and * 1.09 with a TDM11B (1xFXS/1xFXO). Everything works great accept hang-up detection of incoming PSTN calls. * answers the call, but if the incoming caller hangs up, * does not release the line. I have determined the following information about my line: When On-Hook line voltage =

hi: In my zapata.conf i have 4 fxo configured channels, for fxo number 1 to 3 i added polarity reversal property but for fxo number 4 i didnt add polarity reversal property but it still giving me on cosole that fxo number 4 is polarized (because the line on fxo number 4 is not polarized). what i want to do is to not let polarity reversal take effect on fxo number 4. that what i have in my

Station Lines
I am not sure if this is really possible but I figured I would ask anyway. I have a customer who wants an asterisk system. Currently they have a BizFon system. The feature that he really wants is to be able to pick up any line and have all the stations show up on his phone. Is this possible in asterisk? If so can someone point me in the right direction? Can Asterisk provide Answer Supervision signalling to a channel b ank via T1?
I have an older Newbridge Mainstreet 3624 upon which I'm terminating some analog DID lines. They are effectively loop-start trunks with battery supplied by me (ie. FXO) and consumed by the serving central office. One major part of DID is the requirement for providing Answer Supervision in the form of battery polarity reversal on the analog trunks. Without it wierd things start happening, like
