samba oplocks not breaking
Hello,
I am having (weird) issues with XFS, in that open(...) on certain files
takes 45 seconds to return. After the file has been opened, the next
file in the same directory takes 45 seconds. If the file was recently
opened it returns immediately.
I have raised this on several mailing lists, see:

Hello,
I am having some problems with the X11 display in a gentoo linux laptop
with R compiled manually.

System Application, Fail/Timeout Issue
Does the System() dialplan application have a limit on how long it can run? Either a time limit, or server load limit?
I'm trying to pipe the output of Sphinx2 into Text2Wave, but Asterisk just runs by it to the next extension priority, with no errors.
If I run the same command via the system shell, all is good, though it does take a few seconds, probably about 5 seconds to run. Yes,

deliver + quota
Hi list,
can someone please explain me the following behaviour of deliver in
combination with fs-quota and reading from stdin:

Subversion server: v1.4 (centos) vs. v1.6 (rpmforge)
Hi,
I'm planning to upgrade an old public/internal development
infrastructure and will use CentOS 5.4 x86_64 as basis.
One of the critical server is Subversion (as an Apache httpd module).
We currently use Subversion v1.4 on the server and v1.6 on our clients.
While I was very happy with the v1.4 server over the years, we now
sometimes have weird issues which seem related to compatibility

anybody with Remote-Anything experience?
Hello listmates,
Has anyone got any experience running Remote-Anything (
http://remote-anything.com/ ) under Linux as a client (i.e.,
connecting from a Linux box t oa Windows box with a view of
controlling the latter)? Is it even possible? If the answer to this
last question is "yes" how does one do that?
Thanks in advance.
Boris.

Anything like dir.choose (similar to file.choose) in R?
Does R have a dir.choose function?
I can use file.choose like this as a kludge to get something like a
dir.choose, but a real dir.choose would be better:
cat("Select one of files in directory to process:\n")
filename <- gsub("\\\\", "/", file.choose())
basepath <- dirname(filename)
Windows provides a lower-level SHBrowseForFolder function to create such

Convert file in GSM codec to G729 codec
Hi,
I've tried the link
http://www.asteriskguru.com/tools/audio_conversion.php but it returns an error at the moment.
Any other ideas most welcome.

Upgrading to v2.x
Hello shorewall-users,
now that I''ve got v1.4 problems solved I''d just like to ask a general question.
Are there any real benefits to upgrading if v1.4 does what I want ?
I''m not a fan of bleeding-edge in production and I don''t go for "v2 must be better than v1 because it''s newer"
Tom, if you have a few minutes, what''s new in 2.0

New Embedded Distro
Hi All,
A couple of weeks ago I noticed Askozia PBX, which is a new embedded
Asterisk & OS distro at http://askozia.com/pbx. This caught my
attention for two reasons; it uses v1.4 of Asterisk, and it uses the
m0n0wall development framework to build on FreeBSD with a PHP based
GUI. I've used m0n0wall for years, and FreeNAS also, which shares the
same OS/GUI framework.
I booted the latest

Problems with ADS membership with win2k domain
I'm having problems with ADS membership for samba. I had a "mostly"
working version with RHES v2.1, krb5 v1.2, samba v3.0.5.
I knew to get to a fully functioning version I would need krb5 v1.3
or later. So finally I had an opertunity to junk RH's crufty krb5
and build from scratch with:
RHES v2.1
MIT krb5 v1.4
samba v3.0.13
This works fine on another server. Now to the

moving from asterisk1.2 to asterisk1.4
Hello all,
I'm moving from Asterisk 1.2 to Asterisk 1.4.0-beta3. I'm just
configuring an extension associated to an external sip-based voip
service provider in order to be able to initiate/rcv pstn calls.
Is there any relevant issue when moving from v1.2 to v1.4? Maybe
something related to sip.conf/type variable?
I'm only configuring sip.conf and extensions.conf config files.
Thanks

Thread woes after 4.7 - 4.8 upgrade
Since upgrading our openldap (v1.2.13) server to 4.8-STABLE from 4.7-STABLE,
we've noticed that the slapd server increasingly eats up memory, before
dieing and coredumping after about 15 minutes. I rebuilt the package (via
ports), post-upgrade, to see if that fixed the problem and no dice. I've
rebuilt libc_r and the pkg with debugging symbols, yielding the following:
# gdb ./slapd.static

autoconf v2.13
automake v1.4
I've upgraded to autoconf v2.50 and updated flac from cvs. The error is
being generated by aclocal anyway and that's part of automake v1.4.

Sounds like SFQ to me. Can you tell us what the differences are?

Re: Wine & GSM 6.10 codec
What's the difference between buying a phone without a plan and an unlocked GSM? Does unlocked GSM mean I can use it with any carrier, and just activate it with my carrier?
