Tyan Transport GX28 with TDM400
I want to know if I buy a Tyan Transport GX28 (B2881) will it work with a TDM400 card? As the expansion slots are only (2) 64-bit 133/100MHz PCI-X. I never tried PCI 2.2 compliant card in a PCI-X slot so I don't know if it can even fit in the slot and if it does will it be seen? Thanks Martin Roy

Agent Status on FOP
The hype and documentation for the last couple of releases of the Flash Operator Panel claim that the Panel can be configured to either change the LED for a phone, or the name of a phone to indicate when that phone is logged into a queue. I've tried on two different versions (0.18 and 0.19) on two different systems to get this feature to work, and have been completely unsuccessful. Any hints

quad t1 / 1U rack server combos
It is amazing to me at this point that there is not an official Digium list of supported servers (including 1u models!). Clearly the number 1 issue with the Digium PRI cards is the server that they are used in. The new cards even go as far as listing server that DO NOT work on the Digium site! The wiki references are old and do not have any testing parameters. C'mon guys! Certify a

PCI Problems
OK... maybe I got a little anxious and ran out and bought a Tyan GX28 with dual Opteron (dual core) processors. (It is a nice server ;) ) I did neglect to find out that you can not manually set the IRQ's on this motherboard. I am now stuck sharing an IRQ with the ethernet controller and no foreseeable end to my dilemma. I have a Digium TE210P and zttest consistently runs at 99.97% which

Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch recommendations
Hi listers, I am looking for people who have used Power over Ethernet switches, primarily in conjunction with Polycom IP 501's. I've been looking at the Linksys SRW224P, since I've had good luck with the SRW224 in our office. However, Nortel, Cisco, Adtran, etc. all have an offering, all of which vary in price. I would appreciate any input people have to offer. Thanks, James

light web user interface
Does anyone know of a really lightweight web interface that allows users to log in and modify attributes of their extension only? Hardware advice for 100 extensions, routing via ISDN
I would be grateful for some comments on our proposed machine specs for a new Asterisk installation at a client with an initial 70 extensions. The system should be able to handle 100 extensions. The system will have the following main features: - PSTN connection via ISDN 30, dealing with all incoming calls. Outgoing will be through ISDN initially - 70-100 Snom 300 handsets - 1-2

New Asterisk Implementation
Hello, I've been planning to replace my aging CENTREX switch with a new PBX and am seriously considering Asterisk as my solution. I work at a college, and we currently support just under 300 regular analog lines to the offices and whatnot. I was wondering.. Is asterisk ready for such a job? Would I be making a mistake to deploy this across the campus at this time? It seems that

Can this box handle 8 T1s (PSTN) with Asterisk?
Hi all, I am handed a project to setup *. The requirement is that it can handle 8 T1s. Half of the calls coming into the system will be routed to SIP extensions (with transcoding). The machine we have in our disposal is a new dual Xeon 3.2gHz server with 2g of ram and an dual 1000mb nic. Voice will be coming in from the PSTN (through 2 quad digium cards) in g711ulaw, and most of the time will

Could Asterisk be crashing under high context switches?
Hello! I have been struggling with Asterisk 1.6 and DAHDI for the past few weeks. We are an outgoing call center with 30 internal analog phones hooked up to 2 Rhino CB24 channel banks. The banks are connected to a Rhino R4T1 card in a Dell 2950 server with 8 gigs of RAM. The 2 other ports on the R4T1 go to our 2 PRIs. In this configuration, we have trouble maintaining stability. It may be fine

OT: DS3 -> VoIP Hardware Recommendations
Hello all, We are looking for some hardware requirements/recommendations to be able to handle a full DS3's worth of TDM -> VoIP traffic. The DS3 would bring 24 calls per T1 x 28 T1s = 672 simultaneous calls. We would then need to convert those calls into G729 SIP VoIP calls to send to our asterisk box over ethernet. Since everything is going in/out of asterisk is 729, and no features

Mandrake zaptel module not found after compiling
I have compiled zaptel on Mandrake following everything I have always done on Fedora. It is 2.6 udev so... I had to modify the 01-devfs.rules Make linux26 Make Make install... Everything appears to compile correctly but it says module not found when doing "modprobe zaptel" Is this a rights issue? Jordan Novak -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Please Help Test Quad PRI Using NFAS
Please help me test my setup by dialing 800.564.0215 and listen to the queue for a bit. I have a quad port T1 with NFAS setup. I can dial-out but I cannot dial any 800 numbers (Global Crossing says I need LDS service and that will be a couple weeks) so I cant test it myself. I need at least 24 callers to feel comfortable enough that it is working properly. Thanks, Steve Totaro

Snom 300 Echo
We're deploying an asterisk-based phone system at all of our branch offices in an effort to eliminate long-distance costs incurred from the constant branch to branch calls. We're using the Snom 300's at all offices for the desk phones and X100P cards to interface to 2 analog lines. I'm having a problem tuning all the echo out of the system. So far two branches are using the

considering purchasing a t1 card, any recommendations?
I have been looking at the rhino r1t1, and digium single t1, and the sangoma, but from what i read they all sound like good products. Anyone have anything bad about any one of them? I am leaning towards the sangoma as it seems to have a better following here on the lists. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Digium stopped TDM400P production: alternatives??
Hi, Digium stopped to produce TDM400P and the new TDM410 is too new to find it in our shops. The only alternative available is a "fully-compatible" Openvox product...but is it really "fully-compatible"? Any experience about Openvox products (card and zaptel versions, etc...)? Thank you! Giorgio.

Network\Snom phone oddity
I have a client that has 5 Snom 320s. 4 work great, one does not. I upgrade the firmware to the latest (6.5.2) and the problem goes away, but then comes back a couple days later. There is a slight packet loss on the phone (about 1%), though there is no packet loss on any of the other phones. I determine the packet loss by the Linux command "ping -f -c 10000 192.168.2.10". Re: how to dial and accept a call with only
Dear Joe Dennick, and all group members, Could you give me more detail instruction to place a call from an outside line (or cell phone) through the * to voicemail or the demos to prove that the system works. Actually, I need to prove if system works or not. Then I can get money to do next step. Thank you a lot. Michael From: "Joe Dennick" <joe@dennick.net> To:
