Explorer - DirectX and ActiveX
Hello! I'll be running a web project in a future that has a "3d city" built in. Unfortunately the makers of this 3dcity were enough braindamaged to make it as activeX component, so it only works for IE users. The first rational step was to install explorer with ies4linux script and it works briliantly (IE6)! The activeX component does install and start, however it is saying there

IE Failure to Import Data
Hello, I've installed IE in Debian Etch, only because the real estate websites I must access absolutely require IE. I used IEs4Linux to install IE6, and it went flawlessly. IE works fine to surf websites. I must pull a report using ToolkitCMA.com. This site installs alot of IE addons (mainly report templates and an ActiveX control to print pdf's), and the install of these seems to go

IE6 + Office2003 in same wine instance?
It seems as though both ies4linux and CrossOver force you to have a "win98" wine instance (bottle?). But Office 2003 only seems to work on win2000 instance and up. Can someone confirm this? What would be great -- if both of these apps could get together for the nasty ActiveX stuff. Sharepoint I guess requires all this for it's fully operational (non-degraded) usage. Does

Trying to run LiveResponse
LiveResponse is a CRM tech support client. The installer went through without a hitch, but when I run i get about 10 "Internal Application Error" message boxes and the final window comes up but doesn't render much. I'm using Wine 0.9.9. I'm new to wine, so I don't really know where to begin with getting something like this working. I doubt anyone's got experience

Need help running Windows tax application.
Which I cannot change, because it is the only one approved by our government (as in: "you can either use a licensed windows or you can use paper and pen to submit your tax report"). I first tried to install the app as normal. When hat didn't work, I used S?rgio Lu?s Lopes J?nior's iEs4Linux. Now that did work, but it ties me to IE's EULA, which would require me to purchase a

IE6 Broken in Dapper Ubuntu
IE6 from ies4linux and Wine-tools will no longer open. It was working for a few days, but then there was a wine update and it stopped opening. There's a thread for it in the Ubuntu Forums, many others have experienced this too: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=167491 Here's the error many of us are getting: cbudden@ubuntu:~/Desktop/ies4linux$ ie6 fixme:actctx:CreateActCtxW

ActiveX Controls Not Working
For a month I've been trying to get ActiveX controls working from the ToolkitCMA.com site with IE6. Some serious weirdness going on. So now I check what I look like at http://bellsnwhistles.com/bells.html, and it informs me that: "The Browser you are using is Microsoft Internet Explorer (Mozilla) 4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98)" Eh no, I check Help|About IE, and it

wine and drawing functions
Hi, I'm using wine under debian unstable (version 0.9.7-1) to run a chess client application for the playchess server. Almost everything runs fine, except for two things I'm going to mention. 1. the chess client application requires a mozilla activeX plugin for an integrated browser. Wine asks me to download and install the plugin, but the Web pages do not seem to load and the

KSCSV.ocx registry failure?
I'm not familiar with much in the way of windows or wine - I'm trying to get some software (Bently Repair Manual) (http://www.bentleypublishers.com/volkswagen/repair-information/vw-golf-jetta-gti-repair-manual-1999-2005-a4-ebahn.html) that won't run on a win 7 (XP required) system to run in wine. I had to use winetricks to install MFC42.dll, so I understand that sort of voids

0.9.12 iexplore.exe mozilla activex control
I downloaded wine 0.9.12 yesterday, and saw the news about iexplore.exe being included. So, I just had to try it. It downloaded the Mozilla ActiveX control and installed it, but then after the installer completed, I get the following errors: fixme:shdocvw:iecs_QueryInterface unknown interface {00020400-0000-0000-c000-000000000046} fixme:shdocvw:iecs_QueryInterface unknown interface

custom activex dll
Greets. I'm looking for a c++ developer that Would be interested in developing a custom activex dll for me in c++ that I can use with a vb 6 application. The dll would take 1 parameter, an ogg file, and return a DirectSoundSecondaryBuffer8 object. The dll would also let me play, pause, stop, ogg files. If you are interested in doing this project, and if you think you could do it, please let

How to get IE6 stable?
Hello, I installed IE6 with both WineTools and IEs4Linux (under different user accounts). Most of the features work, but IE often hangs. Then I can only kill the process. Has someone got IE6 stable under WINE? If so, which WINE version do I have to use and how shall I configure it? Thanks in advance, Colin Finck

Installing a program with ies4linux
I'm under the assumption that I could use ies4linux to enable html in programs if I install the program with them. However, I have no idea how to do it. I have downloaded/installed ies4linux already (and installed ie6). I'd like to know since the program I am trying to get html in (RealOne Player) works fine, but when Gecko tries to load html it crashes and burns, and I was hoping this
