3 PSTN lines, 3 IP Phones
Hi all, Newbie quest here. I have 3 PSTN lines (2430-2432) setup by the CLEC in a hunt group coming in to a TDM04B and 3 Grandstream gxp-2000's (say a,b and c) and Asteriskathome installed. I want all phones (a,b,c) to be able to take calls from the hunt group. Does this mean I must make 9 SIP extensions on * ? 3 for each IP phone? and group them in trtiplets (ring groups?)

Transfer/Speed-Dial
The vast majority of what I've done with Asterisk has been with the Grandstream GXP-2000's. These phones work great for us for everything *except* speaker quality is quite poor and appears to be half-duplex. So now that we've bought and are using 40 GXP-2000's we're doing some testing on other phones. I've bought a Polycom 301 & 501 as well as a Linksys SPA942. While

Grandstream GXP-2000's and Asterisk.
I have 5 GXP 2000's with firmware 1.1.4.25 running with Asterisk 1.4.13. Is anyone else getting the following error in the asterisk console: [Oct 22 11:39:01] WARNING[7100]: rtp.c:1142 ast_rtp_read: RTP Read too short every couple of seconds when a handset is in a call? I didn't notice this happening when I was using an older GXP2000 with the same firmware (doesn't mean that it

Granstream GXP2000 Distinctive tones
I recently posted a question RE the Sipura 941 and using different ring tones, Thanks to hads I managed to use SET(_ALERT_INFO=Classic-1) to achieve this but trying this on the GXP 2000's didn't seem to do the trick?? Has anyone one had any luck on this topic? Also haven't been able to find any info on an auto-answer for the GXP 2000, again, I have succeeded in doing so with the

very slow network from GXP-2000 switch port
Hello, At a client site yesterday I installed a dozen GrandStream GXP-2000's with 1.1.0.13 firmware but I had to backtrack and reactivate the old PBX and phones: network access for users windoze PC's through the phone's switch port was unbearably slow, making it almost impossible to work. When plugging back PC's directly to the LAN speed was normal again. On my test setup

GXP-2000 DST Change
In case it hasn't been posted before, here's instructions to get the correct time to show up on your Grandstream GXP-2000's: 1. Login to phone 2. Go to Basic Settings tab 3. Change Daylight Savings Time to yes 4. Change Optional Rule to 3,2,7,2,0;11,1,7,2,0;60 (this means change clocks the second sunday of March and back again the first sunday of November - i.e., the new savings

problems with blind transfer on GXP-2000 - Multi tenant asterisk !!
Hello Users, We have Thirdlane Multi tenant PBX system in production. Asterisk version is 1.6.2.15. Attendant transfer is working, but blind transfer is not working with Grandstream (gxp-2000) phone. We have read from google that it is a bug in Asterisk 1.6.2.15. We saw the below links: <http://www.odesk.com/leaving_odesk.php?ref=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.freepbx.o

Full Duplex
We've had an issue since we went live nearly two years ago on Asterisk where people complain about not being able to talk while someone else is talking. I had assumed for a very long time this was because of the phones we went live with (Grandstream GXP-2000's) and for the longest time I believed this was a speakerphone problem only. Last week during budgets, a request to buy new

Voted most stable and easy to use phone?
A while back i had asked about possible replacements for snom 360 phones that were breaking and causing issues and we all discussed the problems we had with the 360s and some suggestions were made but the new polycom phones had just hit the market and not many people were able to comment on them. Basically i am looking to get some new phones and in the process get rid of the countless number of

gxp-2000 Asterisk PSTN
Hi, I have Grandstream GXP-2000 connected to Asterisk, and Asterisk has trunk to VSP for PSTN calls. When ever I place local PSTN call, the landline doesn't hang up right away (40 sec), when I hang up the GXP-2000. The GXP-2000 seems to have problems making international calls as well. Where it hangs up soon as the other party picks up. I have used different IP phones, VSP's and etc.

Calls being dropped
We have the latest version of asterisk, on a xeon dell server (2gb ram), with 6 snom320's(latest firmware) and 3 grandstream gxp 2000's (latest stable firmware) and are having a few problems. We have a basic menu that transfers calls to different extensions. The problems can be found on all extensions. We have 2 different incoming providers and the problem happens on both providers. I

GXP-2000 phones stop registering
I have about 30 GXP-2000 phones running 1.0.1.9 which have all been configured using the provisioning feature so the configuration is all identical. The problem I am having is that they randomly seem to stop registering with asterisk. When they stop registering they can still make calls but oviously asterisk cannot ring the phone so all incoming calls go to voicemail. Has anyone else had similar

GXP-2000 Volume Issue
Is anyone else having an issue with GXP-2000s and transmit gain? All my other phones are fine on my TDM400P with txgain set at 0, but the GXP-2000 caps at about a third of the scale in ztmonitor. I'm getting people complaining they can't hear me on my GXP-2000s, whereas my Snom 320 and Polycom 301 are great, and my Budgetones are overmodulating. Is there any conceivable fix on the

SPA-841 vs Grandstream GXP-2000
I started out a few years ago with some SPA-841 sets, because the Grandstream 2000 I thought I wanted was perpetually delayed. The GS had more call appearances, and I didn't want just the 4 max that the SPA offered. As it turns out, with the greater flexibility of VOIP, I don't need 'dedicated' CAs the way I needed them on ISDN previously, so 4 is actually adequate. Along the line,

ParkAndAnnounce2 Feature Request
We've had a regular Park function in the past but recently I found the ParkAndAnnounce() application and I love the idea behind it. Here's a snip from the wiki (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+cmd+ParkAndAnnounce) so that we're all talking the same language: || ParkAndAnnounce(announce:template|timeout|dial|return_context) || || Park a call into the

Grandstream GXP-2000 call end
Hi When I make a call with the Grandstream GXP-2000 through Asterisk (and SER) to landline using VSP, after I hang up the call the other party are still connected for another 30-40 seconds. I've notice that the SIP BYE is sent to Asterisk, but Asterisk sends no SIP BYE on to VSP. When I use the SPA-941 the call terminates on the other right away soon as I hang up. I have updated the

GXP-2000 and Shared Line Appearances
I have a client with 20 GXP-2000s. Everything seems to be working fine. However, after a couple of weeks of use, the client is having a hard time adjusting to the new IP based phone systems and only misses one feature from their old Lucent system. That is, they had 8 analog lines before and all their old Lucent phones showed a button for each line. So, it was easy for anyone to say,

Codec order sent wrong from Asterisk
I'm communicating a softphone (SJPhone) to a Grandstream phone GXP-2000. The codec order on each one is the next: SJPhone: GSM - iLBC - PCMA - PCMU GXP2000: G729 - GSM - PCMA - PCMU (I have a G729 license, so there's no problem with transcoding G729) In my sip.conf, I've defined the following codec order: disallow=all allow=g729 allow=gsm allow=g726 allow=alaw allow=ulaw And my

Zaptel and Zapata Conf's
I'm a bit confused on how to setup Zaptel.conf and Zapata.conf when there is a TDM400P and a TE410P installed after upgrade. The TDM400P has 2 FXS in position 1 & 2 and 1 FXO in the fourth position. I see boot, WCT4xxP loading first and WCFXS loading second. According to my understanding, given above, the TE410P should be configured first, then the TDM400P. However, I'm not sure
