R GUI in Ubuntu Feisty?
Dear all, After an update from Ubuntu Edgy to Feisty, I seem to have lost package JGR()!? I have updated my sources.list to point to the Feisty repos at http://cran.ch.r-project.org/ and re-installed JGR() via: $ sudo rm -rf /usr/local/lib/R/site-packages/* $ sudo R CMD javareconf $ sudo R > install.packages("JGR",dep=TRUE) > library(JGR) > JGR() However, I get the

Ubuntu feisty: trouble with vmware-player host-guest access...
I post here this ''user'' triuble because i suppose it came from some strange kernel (mis)configuration. I''ve just upgrade from edgy to feisty, and the communication between guest and host in bridge mode stop working. And in a rather, at least for me, strange way. I can ping from host to guest: root@host:~# ping guest PING guest (10.5.2.120) 56(84) bytes of data. 64

Upgrading to R 2.5.1 on Ubuntu Feisty 64
Hi there, A new thread was started on the R list about problems to upgrade R to version 2.5.1 and we were re-directed on this list. We are two with exactly the same problem and the same distribution (Ubuntu Feisty 64). We are unable to upgrade to R 2.5.1. The r-base-core package is version 2.4.1 in Ubuntu repositories while all others r-cran related packages are upgraded to R 2.5.1

Updating packages in Ubuntu feisty for 2.5
Hi, I would like to run R2.5.1 in Ubuntu feisty on an AMD64 chip. I am a total newbie to Linux. I have successfully compiled 2.5 however, I am not able to figure out how to upgrade the packages. I am not able to find an R-base-core_2.5.1-1_amd64 or all on the CRAN mirrors. I can find one on the Ubuntu feisty site, however when I try to install it I get a warning that Dependency is not stisfiable:

Compiling wine on Ubuntu Feity
Hi wine users ! I want to compile wine from git repository on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.04). How can I set up my developpement environment ? The page at http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages isn't upt-to-date for feisty. Maybe I should try with Dan Kegel's edgy script ? Regards, LvR

"Re: cannot use winedbg on Ubuntu Feisty"
A) DON'T EVER RUN WINE AS ROOT! B) What version of wine? C) Remove ~/.wine (and probably /root/.wine) and try again. If you still have problems, post back. -Austin On 8/6/07, lalev@uni-svishtov.bg < lalev@uni-svishtov.bg> wrote: Hi everyone, This happens every time I start winedbg, no matter what program I want to debug. Winetools 0.9 for Debian now in the winehq Apt repository
I haven't tested it much, so let me know if it mysteriously breaks, but winetools 0.9 is now in the winehq Apt repository. I had to rename it 3.0.9 so it'll properly replace older versions of winetools (2.x). Oh well. Thanks, Scott Ritchie

installing debian domu
Wow... this is hard. I just installed Debian Sarge and Etch into Virtualbox, and it''s dead simple - download a regular netinstall .iso file, and use the wizard, and it all just works. On the other hand, I can''t for the life of me figure out how to get a Debian (sarge or etch) DomU up and running. All the instructions I find involve running debootstrap, which of course is only

Bug in R 2.4.1 ?
Hello everybody, I'm using hdf5 files to store results from intermediate calculations. These are usually part of a list, called "res". As I want the hdf-files to contain all the members of res in its top "directory", I used to do attach(res) do.call("hdf5save", args=c(fileout=file.path(dir, ofile), as.list(names(res)))) detach(res) which did what I
