New winetricks 20080402: new verbs dotnet20, win2k, flash, msls31; updated mono, liberation
Big news: as of today or so, wine doesn't need any patches to install the .net 2.0 runtime or run trivial .net 2.0 apps, so I've added a dotnet20 verb. No more futzing with recipes to try out simple .net 2 apps, huzzah! There are lots of other little changes, too: 20080402 r21 Added dotnet20, removed one kludge from dotnet11, added win2k verb, plus shorthand for winver=foo r20

Pango/cairo and symbol fonts
Excuse my asking here than on R-help, but it may be a Fedora question. On Fedora 7, I'm running a fresh R 2.7.1 built from source, usually in en_GB, but also tried in en_GB.UTF8. Running example(plotmath) generates lots of: Pango-WARNING **: shape engine failure, expect ugly output. the offending font is 'Symbol Not-Rotated ...' Setting: x11(type="Xlib") relieves the

rhel source to updates?
I noticed on the rhel errata page: http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2008-0001.html that they have made a configuration change to fontconfig for the liberation fonts. I have the liberation fonts installed via rebuild of fedora 8 src.rpm - including a fontconfig file. I'm guessing the update will come through CentOS at some point and I'm trying to make sure there isn't a file

problem with german fonts (gnu-emacs 21.2.1, ess-5.1.21, w95)
I have a little problem, I cannot solve (at least reasonable fast) I use gnu-emacs 21.2.1 with r-1.5.1 on windows 95. In recent versions I changed "process-coding-system-alist" (C-x[REt]p) to "latin-1". Then I was able to plot german "????" etc(rgui does make this correct). With the new R version this does not work any more. I tried to use some other codings systems

IEEE 488 & Wine
Hello Mike, I saw a posting from 2002 where you were asking about running Windows programs on top of WINE that would talk to GPIB devices. Did you ever get that working? I'm looking at some HTBasic code which has it's own drivers to talk go the GPIB card. They seem to be drivers that speak directly to the memory registers of the card. I would hope that this sort of communications
