Strange Wine Error
Hi all - I recently upgraded my openSuse10.2 distro.
Before the upgrade winecfg, winetools, and wine in general "just worked".
However since the upgrade - I keep getting this error message:
bobby@linux:~> winecfg
drmUnmap back failed!

Here is what happens when I try to run the wineprefixcreate:

[PATCH RFC] Change softlockup watchdog to ignore stolen time
The softlockup watchdog is currently a nuisance in a virtual machine,
since the whole system could have the CPU stolen from it for a long
period of time. While it would be unlikely for a guest domain to be
denied timer interrupts for over 10s, it could happen and any softlockup
message would be completely spurious.
Earlier I proposed that sched_clock() return time in unstolen

Moving clients and JOrbis
Here is what I'm trying to do: most of the time, I broadcast from a
playlist, just loooping through prerecorded content. Sometimes, say at a
special concert or sports game, a live stream (from a laptop's line-in)
is broadcast instead.
Ideally, the laptop could simply "take over" the stream from IceS, and
hand it back when we're finished with the live stuff. Is there a way

prompt to update a host key
As far as I can tell, there currently isn't a straightforward way to
use password authentication for connecting to hosts where the host key
changes frequently. I realize this is a fairly niche use case, but
when developing software for devices that often get reimaged
(resulting in a host key change), it can get pretty tedious to attempt
to connect, get a warning, remove the old host key via

Low FPS in app that requires DirectX6.1
Hi!
I'm trying to run a game System Shock 2
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=2270
I have a laptop with Celeron M 420 (1600Mhz). SS2 running something about
5-10fps.. opposing for example to DeusEx that runs _very_ smoothly.. I can say
it is not less than 50fps or even more(i just don't know how to enable fps counter).
Wine version is 0.9.35

[LLVMdev] making cygwin nightly builds available?
Hi,
I'm looking into LLVM, and I must say it looks supremely cool. However,
I'm having a hard time getting anywhere with it, since I don't have a linux
machine here, and cygwin seems like a bit of a second-class citizen.
The instructions to build the cygwin binaries are outdated, so I have
to just make some guesses as to what the right thing to do is, and
I'm apparently not

Fatal error running Picasa2 on FreeBSD 6.1-R w/0.9.35
After reading of a recent success getting Wine to run the
Win32 version of Google Picasa2, I thought I'd give it a spin
on my FreeBSD 6.1-R system.
Compiled and installed wine-0.9.35 without complaint.
A local copy of (native) Notepad.exe runs fine:
$ wine /win2k/WINNT/system32/notepad.exe
After installing Picasa2, running it under wine fails:
$ wine c:\\Picasa2\\Picasa2.exe

No sound (ices-2.0.0, RH9)
Hello,
I've successfully installed Icecast 2.0.0 and Ices 2.0.0 on a Compaq
EvoN600C running Redhat 9. Everything runs quite well (no error loggued by
Icecast or Ices), the Ices stream is seen as a source by Icecast and friends
are able to listen to my radio (I see them as listeners in Icecast admin)...
the problem is that they ear only silence ! Looks like the streaming is OK
but Ices could

oggPCM for general data
Greetings,
I am building a data collection system that will ultimately have 28 channels
and multi-rates up to 2 M/sec. I need some sort of lossless format framing
and header system to transfer the data to a desktop PC over USB. Rather than
reinvent, I looked around to see what others are using and for existing
tools for testing. Surprisingly, I found few general purpose data formats
that can

Running a .NET 2.0 application in Wine
Hello,
I'm using wine-0.9.35, and when running an application
Wine tells me to install the Windows version of Mono.
I have done this (version 1.2.3), but it still fails
to run. The relevant error is:
Unhandled Exception:
System.TypeInitializationException: An exception was
thrown by the type initializer for
System.Windows.Forms.ThemeEngine --->

Syslinux 5.00 - Doesn't boot my system / Not passing the kernel options to the kernel?
Hi,
I encounter a problem with Syslinux 5.00 I cannot really describe. So I
created two small videos:
Booting with Syslinux 5.00 (1.3 MB):

How I fixed the problem by downgrading to Syslinux 4.06 and how booting
should look like (6.5 MB):

Questions on setting up icecast
yep, they simply forward the bitstream to icecast. And in general, bitrate
changes are handled by most listening clients, although very few I have
found (if any) can handle samplerate changes appropriately.
