SoundBlaster Live
Folks, I last saw this problem in a thread in this newsgroup a couple of years ago, but there was no solution then. It was then stated that you couldn't get a SoundBlaster Live sound card to work under Wine because Windows 'ran' everything through the emu10k1.vxd file and Wine did not support vxd files. Is this still the case? Has anyone found a workaround yet? Pete

OT: sample rate and emu10k1
This is slightly off-topic, but since we're talking about sample rates perhaps one of you can help. I have a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 card installed in a nice server running Debian Woody (stable). I have ices and icecast2 working well from recent CVS sources. Linux 2.4.18 kernel using the included OSS/Free emu10k1 driver. Everything works great, but recording from the Line input only works

Problems running Commandos Behind enemy lines
Hello, I'm trying to get Commandos: Behind enemy lines to work in Wine. I've gotten so far that it starts up, but after a second or two, the graphics freezes and the sound loops. I get the following message in the terminal: > err:process:__wine_kernel_init boot event wait timed out > fixme:d3d_caps:select_card_intel_mesa Card selection not handled for Mesa Intel driver >

echo test application delay using the asterisk cli
I'm trying to figure out why I get delay using the echo test application. I'm using the asterisk cli so I got no external factors that could interfere. I'm getting close to half a second delay speaking into the microphone and hearing it out through my speakers. I'm doing lots of audio work (sequencing and recording) so asterisk is definitely the problem. Of course, only thing

ext3 oops with 2.4.20
Bug report follows. Please CC me if you want me to read the reply, as I'm not subscribed to ext3-users. [1.] One line summary of the problem: Ext3 has just causing filesystem corruption which required fsck to fix. [2.] Full description of the problem/report: I just had my machine lock up with an ext3 oops, preceeded by a bunch of error messages in the logs. On rebooting, after replaying the

Counter Strike: Source. Crashes upon joining game.
Hi. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 and wine 0.9.60. I have got loads of steam apps to run including team fortress 2. However, when I join a game in Counter Strike: Source, as soon as I get to the team select, it freezes up, with the gunshot sounds repeating. It then simply closes. I looked on appdb and the main causes are alsa sound, and to make sure only alsa sound is selected in winecfg. I also
