similar to: Asterisk 1.2.7.1 with Polycom 501 on SIP -> Conf Calling

I am having an issue using a Polycom 501 and VoIP for outgoing calls where if I call say my credit card company and try to follow their PBX menu, the key presses never register with their PBX. It's as if every key press I make absolutely nothing is being sent to them. Is there some setting in the phone or Asterisk that I need to change to fix this issue? Thanks for any help, Andrew

Hi We've setup an Asterisk PBX recently and I encountered the following problem: When [mac address]-registration.cfg file includes the FQDN of the Asterisk PBX for the Polycom SoundPoint 501 phones it will not (even try to) register with the Asterisk PBX unless the DNS (it asks) successfully resolves the name: _sip._udp.[Asterisk FQDN]. I tried following the Wiki page regarding the Polycom 501 and having the same extension appear on all 3 line buttons (just like my cisco) but I'm having no luck. I know how to remap a key on a polycom 301 and 501.... But does anyone know of a list of mapping keys? For example, the Do Not Disturb on a 301 is #23. I got that one by just guessing though. Thanks, Rob

The Polycom's need to have their registration time lowered. Set it to 60 seconds which will re-register every 30 seconds. I've got two Polycom 501s in an Asterisk 1.2.6/zaptel 1.2.5 with Digium connected to POTS. My legacy key system is still running in parallel. Today my 501 didn't ring on an inbound call, nor could I call out. sip show peers showed no ip address for my 501. Rebooted the phone and it's ok now.
