INFO method and DTMF translation
Hello guys,
I have searched high and low, but not found any information about
rules of using DTMF in SIP INFO method. Cisco has described something with
Signal=, but it look like this feature is dependent on implementors?
The problem is chan_sip.c cannot correctly translate received DTMF
digits, especially #,*. At least with my Antek EGW-804 gateway.
Looking into chan_sip.c, I found this code:

Escape characer for Digit Timeout
Hi *,
I hope this is not a FAQ, but I couldn't find any solution until now.
I need to set an escape character to stop digits timeout to let phone calls
start immediately.
Something like '*'.
I saw that in many SIP phones it is possible to set timeout and escape
character and the most have a "send" button.
But in an analog phone connected to a Digium TDM?

ParkAndAnnounce + Paging
Hi everybody.
It is possible to announce the parking position through a paging to a group
of extensions?
I would like that when someone parks a call, some phones will announce with

Something like:

what hardware to choose from?
Hi list,
I am ready to implement VoIP for 2 of our offices. i do like to setup
asterisk box in each office (behind PBX) and use our ADSL links to provide
the tunnel. This will provide cheap telephone calls between offices.
I also like to setting PBX, so it can let incoming call-thourgh to asterisk
extensions, so our home users can use office * box to call to other office.

database diff's?
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what bits of info I need to ad to a DB to
manualy add users to an app (eGW) and was wondering if anyone had a
better way to find the differances in two states (pre/post change) of a
database. Only thing I could come up with was to do a DB dump to a file
before and after then run diff on them.
Anyone have a slicker, better, faster, not a as gee-wiz there should be

RE : TDM2400p bad sound quality
Hi Francois,
Thank you for your interest.
I tried the card alone so I don't think is an IRQ problem (anyway is there a
way to be sure?)
To be sincere, in all systems I saw (even working ones) there is an IRQ
balance failed where Linux boots.
The system is new, I tried different processors (P4 and Celeron) with SMP
kernel and without.
The card has the echo module, could not be

Moving email from a folder to another using IMAP isvery slow (sometimes)
Hi to all,
very strange! I tried to debug why imap process takes 100% CPu and it is
very slow when I move an email from an imap folder to another imap folder
and then I typed:
strace -tt -o /log-imap.txt -p <process number>
well, during the trace the imap process doesn't crash and it is very fast.
If I stop the tracing, I have again the problem and sometimes the crash of

How to produce rainfall maps
Thank you Sarah and Mike for your explanations.
My final objective is to produce maps (png image or any kind of extension I can import in LaTeX) where rainfall data are interpolated, using the Inverse Distance method or Kriging.
My input file (pointfile.csv in the reported example) reports the station code, lat and long of the meteorological station and the rainfall value (which might be the
