Dry Copper Pair
Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to get a dry copper pair (also known as an alarm
line) from Verizon for less than $20/end? I know we have been able to get
them, but they come out to $40/month for a circuit.. and there's no
dial-tone over it!!!!

rsync dir-merge filter rule leaking outside its directory
Before I submit a bug report, perhaps the following has been seen
and dealt with before:
I found that it is possible for dir-merge filter rules to
inconsistently leak outside the directory where they are defined. This
happens when using --delete-after and -R and when asking for transfer
of a child of the directory where the filter rules are defined, with
an other transfer directory later on the

RE: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 21, Issue 130
Have you thought about making them agents, they would both be reachable by dialing there agent number then, and I know only one agent can be logged in at once. Just a thought.

T.38 ITSP?
Has anyone found an ITSP that will relay T.38 fax to an asterisk 1.6.x
instance AND do it reliably? If so, I can think of a number of locations
with copper loops that could be scrapped. I'm actually quite surprised at
what an underwhelming number of ITSP's that say they support T.38 (zero so
far among my normal go-to companies).
For locations that just want to be able to send

OT: VoIP over bonded link
I have to provision several dozen * users to a seperate building on our
campus in the same subnet. Ordinarily, I'd just run a gigabit cat6 cable to
another switch if it doesn't violate the 100 metre rule, but this building
is several hundred metres away from my backbone. My only option for cabling
to the remote building is copper. My plan is to provision them with a Linux
bridge with 4

PCI Mapping of e1000 Dual-Port Adapter to DomU
Hello,
I´m trying to map one network interface of a Dual-Port e1000 Server

to a DomU (firewall). In Dom0 the adaper is seen with lspci as:

Controller Copper (rev 01)
06:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 631xESB/632xESB DPT LAN

My goal is to map only 06:00.1 to DomU so I used this

Problem with tor2 driver and Zapata Tormenta 2 Quad T1/PRI Card
Hi All,
I'm having a bit of a time getting my Tormenta 2 card to actually be
seen by the system. Whenever I modprobe, the kernel spits out the
following (in addition to the "insmod tor2 failed" messages):
Invalid Xilinx 8 bit Base resource
Registered Tormenta2 PCI
Of course, the module says that its registered a Tormenta2 card, but it
unloads the driver and frees related

Big time system
We are an asterisk user... small time system 50-100 users or so.
But, we have an opportunity to get into a big time telecom activity.
It would have 2000 to 30,000 user lines per city, and we would like to have
those brought back to a central location for control and because transport
can be more economical than remote site rentals, maintenance and personnel.
We could take the local lines into

Configure LAGG Interface?
Greetings- I'd like to configure multiple copper NICs on a server running CentOS 6.2 in a LAGG configuration for better throughput to the core switch. After quite a bit of searching, I'm not seeing anything of the sort. Is LAGG specific to the BSD world and the HP switches I'm running? Or, does it go by a different name? Bonding perhaps? If so, is bonding compatible with LAGG?

[LLVMdev] "Name that compiler"
Hi
The Dragon book, led my thoughts to "Here be dragons"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Here_be_dragons
"In another context, software programmers sometimes use it to indicate
especially difficult or obscure sections of code in a program so that others
do not tamper with them."
Why not some dragon name ? or maybe someone can use this idea to come up with
something else.

Performance problem on a linux bridge used for shaping.
Hello,
Here is the situation. There is a machine with 3 intel gigabit card, 2
of them on PCI-X and in bridge, the 3rd is used only for management
access. The machine is a dual Xeon 2.8GHz with HT. With 2.6.8 kernel
from debian (testing) and htb with u32 on, i usually get about 30-40%
software interrupts on CPU0 and CPU2, and without htb and u32, 10% less.
Now, if I boot with 2.6.17.9 kernel,

Back to eth shuffling ...
Actually, I know what the MAC is for the builtin Port1 and 2. Those are
listed in the BIOS. But ultimately I don't want to rely on them as I want
the same kickstart file to work for other machines, so hardcoding those in
the kickstart file wouldn't quite work, unless I start writing multiple
kickstart files, one per machine.
Anyway, lspci reports this:
00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel
