TBCT - Two B-Channel Transfer
Hi-
A customer of mine running asterisk has inquired if asterisk currently
supports TBCT, that is the ability of asterisk to transfer a call back
up to the carrier's switch to complete a connection, freeing up the
B-channels on the asterisk box.
I saw a reference to this feature in the asterisk "bounties" section on
the Wiki, and someone added a note saying that this might be

ISDN TBCT....
Greetings,
This may be a bit arcane but does anyone know what the contents of a facility message should be for initiating a TBCT on an NI2 ISDN. I've been trying to get it to work on a DMS100 for the last four months to no avail. The message I am currently sending makes it to the switch but is returned with unknown message. Perhaps someone here has done it before and can help me out.

PRI Gurus ONLY - Too complex of an issue - SOLVED
Told you it was too complex of an issue :-) I figured to do this in
zapata.conf and all is fine now:
transfer=no
That was the magic two letter which was sending a request for RLT feature on
the line. Set transfer to "no" and all worries gone.
Thanks for the input everyone.

PRI TBCT - Practical Experience, Anybody?
Hi Guys,
I am sorry if my issue is not related to this but I think it is.
I have a PRI with Bell Canada and when I dial in and have the call
transfered to a context to dial out and then have those two channels
bridged, the call disconnects with cause 16 just exactly as Jay R. Ashworth
shows in his CLI output. Bell Canada support RLT or know as 2BCT or TBCT to
some but we have not requested that

compatibility of PRI Two B channel transfers TBTC/2BTC
Hello,
A client has asked for Two B channel Transfer capability (known as
TBCT or 2BCT, similar to other features such as ECT, RTL and Q,SIG
Path Replacement) in a new Asterisk system and so I researched the
capability and came up with quite a few gaps in documentation.

BOUNTY POSTED - Zaptel drivers for *BSD
http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000847
I'm placing a $250 bounty on getting Zaptel drivers working under BSD. While
the 'hood' is open on this, we'd like to have drivers completed for FreeBSD,
NetBSD, and OpenBSD on the x86 platform (other platforms optional).
This needs to be done in a timely fashion. I'd like it completed by
6/30/2004, but once the project

Asterisk on FreeBSD News
Asterisk on FreeBSD News
CURRENTLY:
Asterisk and libpri in Asterisk-current (CVS
head) build and run on FreeBSD 5.2.1.
The last major change (support for multiple
CPUs) has been incorporated into
Asterisk-current. Asterisk should now be
thread safe on FreeBSD and testing on dual
CPUs has just begun, thanks to Chris Stenton

Problem with libpri / asterisk
Hi all !
We currently have an asterisk box that is rather old (runs Asterisk
1.4.21.2), and it's connected to the PSTN with a sangoma A104d card.
Now we have a new PRI at another location, and I use that occasion to
build 2 new servers, one to replace our aging one and a new one for this new
pri.
So I downloaded the lastest libpri / asterisk / wanpipe driver, but the
previous version of

Dell Servers
Hi,
I was planning on getting a Dell PowerEdge 2950 for our new Asterisk

But while searching for documentation about it and/or reported issues, I
found this:

request for clarification on Asterisk T.38 bounty
The bounty stands at $5,500. I'm seriously considering taking a shot
at it if I can find a decent T.38 provider to test with (I'm still
hoping for reliable PAYG T.38).
It looks like a lot of very smart people have done a lot of very hard
work (t38modem, spandsp) that would go towards getting this working.
At this point it appears to be mostly a matter of integration

PRI protocol question...
I'm having difficulty getting a PRI working between asterisk and a Merlin
Legend. I have been attempting to get it going as esf, b8zs & 5ess (although
I have tried other switchtypes...). I found the following info in the Legend
docs:
If the switch type is 5ESS, the protocol MUST be set for ATT Custom.
If switch type is DMS-100, the protocol MUST be set for NTNAPRI

User-Oriented Management of Asterisk
While I was away on vacation, buried deeply in another thread (New
Asterisk bounty: SIP simultaneous), Olle E. Johansson raised a question
which is close to my heart - Asterisk's management model.
A management model which simply manages telephone extensions and dial
plans is irrelevant to most organisations. We need a model which manages
users and their interaction with the PBX.

Asterisk - VoiceGenie IVR
Hi,
I'm currently working on a setup between Asterisk and VoiceGenie (which
is a IVR system).
The way my setup is done, is that I have a PRI line coming in my
Asterisk server, and then VoiceGenie is connected to Asterisk via SIP,
like any other softphone basically. I'm able to receive calls in
Asterisk and then link them with VoiceGenie. But one of my issues is
that when I get an

PRI Callerid Passthrough
Hey Don,
How are you? I may be heading your way in the next month or so. Have to
meet with a guy in Eden Prairie, and stop off at my
brother/sisterm-in-law's as well.
Got a question for you - with TBCT, who pays for the call once it is
transferred? Still me as the owner of the trunk?
Lets say I take a call that was dialled locally (caller believes this is
"free"), and I do a

VoiceXML + Nuance
Hello,
Is there anyone who has ever done a setup of VoiceXML combined with some
licenses from Nuance for the ASR/TTS engine within Asterisk ?
I'm currently working with VoiceGenie, for the VoiceXML + ASR/TTS
engine, but we are having a couple of issues which I guess are caused by
VoiceGenie.
If there's an alternative, it would be very interesting for us.
Thanks,

Although in a bugtracker posting with a patch from over two years ago,
Matt Fredrickson from Digium says that it works with 5ESS under
Asterisk 1.2.X:

There are also bounties and claims of this feature working on NI2
protocol(although no patches posted) on the voip-info.org Wiki:

First ever Open Source Asterisk / Wave bounty
I've just received an email from a colleague who told me to put my
money where my mouth is ....
So here it is - I'm offering $500 and looking for other people to add to
this bounty.
We can get a group of people putting matching funds up to finalize the
scope of the first Open Source Asterisk / Wave conference call
integration robot bounty but if you have any other suggestions feel free
