Greetings, This may be a bit arcane but does anyone know what the contents of a facility message should be for initiating a TBCT on an NI2 ISDN. I've been trying to get it to work on a DMS100 for the last four months to no avail. The message I am currently sending makes it to the switch but is returned with unknown message. Perhaps someone here has done it before and can help me out. Thanks Gene Kochanowsky
TBCT (Two B Channel Transfer) would drastically reduce b-channel load in some applications. Great for find me follow me Unified communicator type services. Incoming calls answered on your cell phone etc. I am very uneducated on this feature. How could I find out more about it? Does anyone have an example of this? Does it work with Nortel? Per Intel: "this feature is supported for the 5ESS and 4ESS protocols only" resource.intel.com/telecom/support/releases/unix51/linux51/SR5.1_Linu x/Onldoc/html_files/gcisdn/appxis23.htm Network Facility Request - Two B Channel Transfer (TBCT) (Synchronous Mode) TBCT enables an ISDN PRI user to request the switch to connect together two independent calls on the user's interface. The two calls can be served by the same PRI trunk or by different PRI trunks. If the switch accepts the request, the user is released from the calls and the two calls are connected directly. Billing for the two original calls continues in the same manner as if the transfer had not occurred. As an option, TBCT also allows for transfer notification to the transferred users. TBCT works only when all of the following conditions are met: The user subscribes to TBCT (this feature is supported for the 5ESS and 4ESS protocols only). The two calls are of compatible bearer capabilities. At least one of the two calls is answered. If the other call is outgoing from the user, it may be either answered or alerting; if the other call is incoming to the user, it must be answered. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gene Kochanowsky" <gene@solutionsciences.com> To: <asterisk-users@lists.digium.com> Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 6:59 AM Subject: [Asterisk-Users] ISDN TBCT....> Greetings, > > This may be a bit arcane but does anyone know what the contents of afacility message should be for initiating a TBCT on an NI2 ISDN. Hi Gavin, According to Sprint here in Tallahassee it is supported on the DMS100 for an NI2 ISDN PRI. I am aware of the Intel tech note you refer to. You can find the code snippit it contains spread all over the place. According to the docs it was tested on a DMS100 using an NI2 ISDN PRI. However I have not been able to get it to work. I need call transfer in my app and I do not want to trombone. My problem is that I can find published specs on ISDN PRI NI2 all the way down to the facility message. After that nothing. So I do not know if the message I am sending is correct and both Sprint and Nortel have been useless. If anyone has done this and would care to share what they know about it I would appreciate it.
