* fax reliability between ISDN PRI and FXS ports
Hi, I am building for a customer an * solution that will use 2 Digium cards. 1 x TE110P (T1 ISDN PRI) 1 x TDM40B (4 analog ports, 2 for faxes, 2 for extensions) The system will be connected to the PSTN through the T1 ISDN PRI interface. All customer extensions will be SIP phones except 2 fax machines that will use the analog FXS ports on the TDM40B card. I have been investigating on this

TE411P Really Bad Echo
I just implemented a system using a TE411P hardware echo cancellation card. Per Digium, I setup zaptel.conf, and zapata.conf the same way as I always have. To my surprise calls out to the PSTN had a terrible echo. 1 - 2 second delay, and quite clear. The echo was so bad that I had to remove the hardware echo cancellation module from the card. We are only using the 1st span of this card right

ISDN-FAX with Asterisk
Hi everybody, since some time I am looking for a current and reliable solution to send and receive faxes (probably fax-2-mail and mail-2-fax) in conjunction with Asterisk. For testing I am using a HFC-ISDN passive PCI-card, in production a Digium Dual T1/E1 PCI-card will be used. I run CentOS 5.5 (Kernel 2.6.18) and Asterisk 1.4 (but I also can use 1.8) but did not find any solution where I

How to set up Fax on Asterisk - Using analog Fax machines and HT502 (or FXS of a Digium TDM410P)
Hello Asterisk users, We are having MANY but MANY problems configuring an analog fax machine to work properly on Asterisk, the first thing we do was to plug in the Fax analog machine to the FXS port of the Digium TDM410P, we set echocancel=no on zapata.conf and also faxdetect=yes on general section, but our Asterisk CRASH every time we try to send/receive fax! We are using Asterisk 1.4.21 and

Sangoma BRI card -- National ISDN/North America support (Having problems with analog disconnect supervision?)
Hi, folks! Sangoma has an informal user survey up on their home page (at http://www.sangoma.com) asking if people would use their A500 card for North American BRI, if it were supported. I encourage anyone with an interest in voice BRI in North America to vote; this information will be used for deciding whether to make the investment in developing a National ISDN driver layer for it. Benefits to

Digium cards, so disappointing !
I am so fed up with Digium cards. My company first owned a TE410P, I installed it in a Dell server and "enjoyed" its instability (we bought it months before Digium warned about the incompatibility issues). Then we switched to a TE411P for the hardware echo cancellation. Now we want to receive fax (< 20/day) on it and guess what ? Since April 2006 (again a few months after we bought

Fax through Sangoma A102
Hello, in our company we are trying to do this: Fax <--> Traditional PBX <--> Asterisk <--> PSTN In practice, we have put an Asterisk equipped with a Sangoma A102 (2 PRI ports) between our PBX (Siemens HiCom) and the PSTN in order to have a VoIP network along the traditional telephony network. The problem is with the fax. We just want to send and receive faxes from/to our fax

Distributed FAX - How to best complement asterisk ?
Hi list, I'm evaluating a private telephony scenario of about 20 locations - 300 phones, 50 FAX machines. Initial overview points to the installation of asterisk at three locations connected to the PSTN via ISDN PRI. All other locations, small by themselves, would get SIP phones managed by asterisk, since there is good IP connectivity between all sites. Now on to the

Advice on ISDN and Asterisk in the UK
Hello all What I'm looking for is some plain speaking advice on ISDN. Currently using 4 analog lines connecting via a four port TDM400P FXO card. We need to physically move our installations, and on requesting the analog lines be moved - our telco (BT) is suggesting we replace our analog lines with ISDN2. We would have 3 x ISDN2 connections, giving us six voice channels. They've

iaxmodem - fax tone?
I am testing out hylafax and iaxmodem. Submitting jobs to the hylafax server and having it then dial using iaxmodem is working fine. Hylafax server is talking to my Asterisk box that has a Sangoma A101 in it via iaxmodem via an IAX channel using ulaw. A call coming into a certain test DID comes into the Sangoma A101 then it goes to another box via IAX ulaw that uses the rxfax app to

Analog with channel bank - Inbound works, outbound doesn't
I am experimenting with an asterisk setup in my office. The last bit I have to test is working with analog lines. I have TE411p digium card, with an ISDN line plugged into the first, a channel bank plugged into the second port, and the last two ports empty. I have the following setup in my zaptel.conf: span=1,1,0,esf,b8zs bchan=1-23 dchan=24 span=2,0,0,d4,ami fxsks=25 And in zapata.conf, I

Hardware advice for 100 extensions, routing via ISDN
I would be grateful for some comments on our proposed machine specs for a new Asterisk installation at a client with an initial 70 extensions. The system should be able to handle 100 extensions. The system will have the following main features: - PSTN connection via ISDN 30, dealing with all incoming calls. Outgoing will be through ISDN initially - 70-100 Snom 300 handsets - 1-2

Configuring chan_dahdi.conf for Sangoma A200/Remora FXO/FXS Analog AFT card
Hi I have been having a rough time getting a Sangoma A200/Remora FXO/ FXS Analog AFT card set up properly. The main issue is that the card has four ports and as far as I can tell Asterisk is only seeing two. On the two that it recognizes the "Green" FXS ports are not green, they just are not lit. The "RED" FXO ports are indeed red, but from what I have read your not

DELL PowerEdge 2850 and TE4110P and TE110P
Hi All Before I go out and buy a DELL PowerEdge 2850 has anyone had problems (or any other useful experience) getting a TE411P to work with it. I also have a legacy TE110P. Has anyone had problems with this combo. -- Dr. Rodney G. McDuff |Ex ignorantia ad sapientiam Manager, Strategic Technologies Group| Ex luce ad tenebras Information Technology Services | The

Recommend Fax Hardware for T1 PRI
I have posted this to the Asterisk Forums, but got no response yet. Sorry if you are reading this for the second time. What fax hardware do I need for a T1? Ideally, I will switch my T1 to a digital PRI (not CAS I'm told, which is not as good) coming into the building. My CLEC said I can do this switch no problem. I have an analog T1 coming in now. >From the Asterisk box, I will connect

Not enough lines available for Asterisk implemetation
Hi all I am looking at implementing asterisk at a company with two ISDN bricks (60 lines). I know that the VoIP will absorb at least on brick worth of lines but that still leaves me with a need for 30 ISDN lines. As far as I can tell most of the Digicom cards have 4 FXS ports and I've read on this list that at most two could coincide in a box simultaneously without causing an interupt

yet another faxing issue (outbound only, via ATA)
2 Asterisk servers 1.2.12.1 Connected via IAX2, same switch, GigE, no packet loss, etc 1 with a Sangoma A101 for a PRI to the PSTN Ulaw QoS enabled NAT for the registered ATA boxes, no nat between the * servers Faxing inbound: Call from PRI hits the first Asterisk server Then talks to the 2nd via IAX2 NVFaxDetect receives the fax, converts to PDF and emails it out Works great!

[Asterisk-Dev] Severe ISDN signal distortion in CVS-HEAD with octoBRI
BUG/SYMPTOMS: 1.Under certain circumstances, octoBRI (and most likely quadBRI) ISDN cards (Junghanns/CologneChip) severely distort certain ISDN payload. 2.Although these claims relate to the bristuff patch, the problem might not be limited to bristuff and in fact be rather asterisk/zaptel/libpri related. 3.Signal distortion is limited to the use of the CVS version of the Bristuff patch for

FAX on PRI to MFCR2
Hi, I am having issues sending and receiving fax on my asterisk setup. Currently I have a server that has 2 x E1 TDM cards one is sangoma and the other one is openvox. Both support echo cancellation. One of the e1 is connected to our telco provider via mfcr2 where all our incoming calls originate. On the other end is a pri connection going to HICOM PABX where the local attached to a fax is

Asterisk Fax
Hi, I have read a lot about the thread of faxing support in Asterisk as well as spanDSP. However, either I don't fully understand other people's applications or may be what I'm trying to do is different from what others are trying to do. I have a very simple setup. I have an asterisk server with a TE110P connected to the PSTN via T1 PRI (Asterisk A). I have another asterisk
